  1. Shitebag. Evens for Utd in the first derby, £100
  2. What have you got to lose if I don't though?
  3. I'll take £100 at even money off any Dundee fan that Utd will win the first derby this season.
  4. Imagine no massively overreacting on the internet. See yiz in a few weeks
  5. Utd been fine. Look no bad going forward down the right. Sporle looks pish.
  6. Would take this but with Appere for Sow. One of the biggest question marks for us this season is whether we get enough support up to and around Shankland. Think I'm more interested in that tonight than I am the result.
  7. Good chance King will be the last addition to the squad this summer (maybe one or two to leave) giving us a first team squad of: Keepers Siegrist Deniz Full Backs Robson Booth Sporle Smith Watson Centre Halfs Reynolds Connolly Frans Centre Mid Butcher Bouhenna Harkes King Stanton Attacking Mid / Wingers C. Smith McMullan Pawlett Banks Strikers Sow Shankland Clark Appere Obviously plenty guys in there who can cover multiple positions (Watson & Bouhenna at centre half etc.). I'd probably still like us to sign one more out and out winger but really that squad should be good enough to win this league. Neilson has the tools, now up to him to use them to best effect.
  8. Strip is the best in years. Getting a bit freaked oot at all this competence going on around Tannadice at the mo.
  9. Reading in the courier that Sow has had a good pre season but is now out of training for a few days with "calf tightness". I'm no sure we'll ever see this boy fully fit. Also, Neilson mentioned trimming a couple of players from the squad to give younger guys a chance. Assuming he doesn't mean Loemba or Aird who're already out, who do we think will go? Absolutely wouldn't be my choice but I think he'll move Cammy Smith on, maybe Clark and one out of Booth/Robson. eta Pawlett and Sow would be the 2 guys I'd move on but don't see that happening for a second.
  10. Hefty dose of deja vu reading the experts from across the road ruminating on finances at United.
  11. Neilson suggesting in Dumbarton post match interview that Appere has played himself into the first team fold. I'd like to see him and Banks getting a shot in competitive games, dev squad or loans for the rest.
  12. The balance (or lack of) with our attacking players is probably my biggest concern at this point. The thought of another year watching a lone striker isolated and constantly losing the ball 40 - 50 yards from goal gies me the fear. Hopefully unfounded.
  13. No bad shout. Needs Neilson to be willing to actually give him a shot there though.
  14. My issue with the 3 strikers we have at the moment is that I think all of them are best suited to playing as number 9 types and all of them would be more effective with a partner who'll drop short, run channels etc etc. We don't have that player in the squad right now.
  15. I haven't given up hope that Sow could turn out to be the player we were all expecting but at this point I wouldn't be particularly upset if he was out the door. Given a straight choice between him and May I think there's a higher chance of May having a positive impact on the team this season. No seeing it happen though.
  16. Opinions and that but I think May would work as a good foil for Shankland or Clark. Let him do the donkey work and either of them are freed up to play in and around the box
  17. One of the tabloids has us interested in Stevie May but needing to offload Sow first. That would represent an improvement to our squad imo, whether it's realistic is another question..
  18. I'm glad we got rid of Barton. I'm glad we're looking at central midfielders. Cheers.
  19. You said a player wouldn't consider the size of a club when moving, I'm saying they would because there is no good reason not to. It's a pretty fuckin' simple point. I didn't and don't disagree that for plenty of players, playing in the Premier League would be a better option than playing for Utd right now.
  20. A bigger club and the extra media/social media attention that generates surely a consideration in this search for a "better platform"? There are no downsides whatsoever to a player taking even a few minutes to talk about something like that with his agent.
