  1. I know Dunfermline weren’t exactly going to be brimming with confidence going in to this but my goodness they were dreadful. Can’t think of a worse performance of an opposition side against us all season. Truly abysmal. The only tactic consisted of launching throw ins into the box and hoping something would fall. It looked like the players had given up for McPake in all honesty Dom Thomas in full flight is an absolute joy of a footballer. 1st half I felt like he might of been trying too hard which led to him losing possession on a couple of occasions but the 2nd half was tremendous. Complete control and deserved the result. What a difference an actual football manager makes. Within 5 games, we now look a decent championship team again compared to the basket case under Veldman Motm for me again was Jack Thomson. He’s a premiership ready player now who I have no doubts will not be at the club next season. His control on the ball, physicality and driving runs from centre back were a delight and he’s been fantastic all season. Xavier Benjamin might also be one of worst players I’ve seen in a fair while. Hoaching performance
  2. Yeah I’m really happy with that. Been an incredibly mature performer the moment he’s came up from the youths and I think under Davidson he’s going to kick on even further. A future QP captain I’d say
  3. Can tell he’s quite talented but lacked a lot qualities that can’t really be quantified (heart, resilience, fight). Far too lightweight and his impact on games fell off a cliff very quickly. Not suited or good enough for championship football at this stage of his career
  4. Can’t stress enough how important getting a result today was. Genuinely never felt so happy to see a QP side grind and play ugly football if it means getting a positive result. Far too often, even going back last season we always had a soft touch about us but under Davidson we seem to be learning about the ‘dark arts’ a lot more. You can tell from Davidson’s interviews how much he loves players getting stuck in and flying into tackles. Joshua Scott was a prime example of that as a sub, immediately flying in to win the ball. You have to be able to do that if you’re to compete in the championship The game wasn’t pretty at all but when you have a player like Dom Thomas, you’ve always got a chance of creating something from nothing. The guy has been dealt a hard card this season getting plucked everywhere on the pitch, expected to win games of football on his own but when you actually play him out wide in a settled structure, you immediately see how much better he is. His individual 2nd half performance was tremendous and deserved the goal Bannon arguably had his best game of the season at the back and even though I’ve criticised him lots this season, Tizzard really grew into the game 2nd half and dealt with anything that fell in the box. Really pleased for him, should do his confidence the world of good Can’t say I was too impressed with Inverness at all. They had a lot of possession around the box but I can’t recall many if any real clear cut chances (bizzarely Ferguson suggests otherwise)Interesting recruitment strategy signing a host of young guys from down south and seeing a lot experience leave the door. There’s a noticeable difference from the PL 2 division compared to the Scottish championship and I’d be concerned that these guys might take a while to adapt to the pace of things.
  5. We’re slowly looking like an actual championship level team nowadays compared to the shambles under Veldman. We look a lot more resolute and being able to grind wins away at Raith and Inverness are prime examples of having a legitimate manager in Davidson at the club. The difference in one month has been fantastic By no means safe but I feel having a far more structured set up alongside a couple match winners in Thomas and Paton will prove to be the difference in finishing 8th instead of 9th
  6. Horrid game. Thankfully Inverness were slightly more horrid. Biggest result of the season so far
  7. Ferrie Mcpherson Bannon Wilson Robson/Scott/Bruce - Take your pick Thomson Carse Thomas Turner Mckinstry Paton Get this team on the pitch please. Mckinstry needs to eventually come good so I’d be inclined to give him the trust in a big game to show himself
  8. He’s really not. It’s just harder for you to believe as he probably had his worst ever game last season at Cappielow, which was indeed a horrendous performance. Despite our position in the league, he’s been tremendous for us this year. We’d be below Arbroath by a considerable margin without him
  9. That’s McKenna confirmed to Bournemouth. Really smart move to go there instead of Man United I’d say. Think there’s a realistic pathway of breaking into the team over the coming years You could tell from the off he was a special talent. The performances away at Arbroath and even Raith (despite losing) were tremendous. Had the personality and build of a 28 year old seasoned pro. I really don’t think It will be a longtime before hearing his name in the limelight again
  10. Unless the club are waffling, it states he’s had loan spells although I can’t find any info on them
  11. Wasn’t expecting someone in that position but curious to see how that impacts on Bruce and Robson Cant say it bodes well for Robson’s chances but he’s been on the decline for a while now. Something needed changed and I’m glad Davidson is addressing it
  12. Going by Davidson’s interview, seems like he’s trying to get one more in before the deadline
  13. Wilson is an excellent piece of business (on paper at least). If he’s anywhere near the player he was at rangers/Hearts, he’s easily up there as one of best in the division. A huge upgrade on what we currently have. If I’m greedy, I’d probably want another centre back on top of that to allow Thomson in midfield again, especially when Fox is injured and Tizzard is…..Tizzard
  14. Absolutely not He was terrible at Morton last season
  15. Yeah that’s class Would be delighted with that
  16. Davidson must be fuming this is what’s he’s been able to sign this month. He’s confidently stated on almost every interview how much the squad needed experience and it simply hasn’t happened other than Welsh. We must of been turned down by so many players I’ll not write Crole off until seeing him on the pitch, you’ve simply got to give him a chance to prove himself. We’ve had our fair share of garbage on loan, especially in attack so unfortunately the expectation is set at a very low bar for now. He just needs to be impactful from the bench for the last 15-20 mins. Whether that’s providing some sort of pace or presence up top Critical that a defender(experienced!) is signed tomorrow or else we’ll be in league 1
  17. “We’re looking to sign experience this window” Proceeds to sign a striker with zero senior experience
  18. It’s an interesting one with Spong. It’s been noted here that he apparently didn’t settle in Glasgow which could be entirely plausible but if you go back a couple weeks, Davidson said in the Raith post match interview that he wanted to see how certain players react to being a sub and it was clearly geared towards Spong. Two weeks later and he’s gone. Regardless of the reasons as to why he’s away, I’m really sad to see him go. He was an intelligent footballer on the ball who was excellent at winning tackles considering his small stature. He was arguably man of the match just 3 weeks ago against Dunfermline, such a shame it’s ended so soon This MUST result in some incomings. No teenage loanees with zero first games, I mean guys who have sufficient experience at this level. You cannot release a player of Spong’s quality with 18 months left of his deal to bring in nobody. Is that sending a message to the rest of the squad that no matter your contract length, you can sack it off if you’re not enjoying yourself ?
  19. Getting slightly nervous we’re going to sign nobody this week. Davidson was trying to get a player before the weekend and yet we’ve still heard nothing since? Club have to back Davidson this week. So much is down to money at this level and if it means paying slightly more than you want to get the right player, please do so
  20. Healy needed a loan if he’s to have a genuine future at the club. Hasn’t been seen on the pitch for weeks now but really hasn’t grabbed his opportunity when it came about early on in the season. It’s a monumental jump from Arthurlie to championship football so there’s no shame in needing a loan early doors. Still has 3 and a half years left on his deal. It’s a cliche saying but there’s a definitely a talented player there but needs to learn the tougher side of the game. I think he’ll do really well there
  21. It’s still absolutely absurd Paton has 16 goals in this team just over half a season in. Regardless if he’s got 2 years left on his deal, surely he’s offski if we’re in league 1 or even if we retain championship status? He’s only 2 goals behind Murray’s total from this point last year. Stick him in a United/Raith/thistle and he’s probably on 20 goals.
  22. Wasn’t able to make the game yesterday but that’s a sickening set of results across the board and puts us now in real danger of being cut fairly adrift from 8th really soon. For me, we simply cannot lose to Inverness next week and I can’t say I’m too confident given their excellent result yesterday whilst bringing a host of new signings (one of which scored a first half hat trick). From the highs of Raith a couple weeks, we’ve been hit straight back into reality. I think Davidson has and will make a difference to the team but I’m apprehensive that we’ll need to go through a relegation play off to do so. The damage from beuker and Veldman might not leave enough time for us to achieve 8th but i hope i’m proved wrong Only saving grace is Arbroath having an absolute crisis with injuries or else we’d easily be sitting in 10th place
  23. Seems like rudden might be off to Raith Rovers now which is a shame. Wouldn’t be against going for Stevie May on loan if possible. Can’t say I know too much about Stevie May’s legs in 2024 but surely would still do a job in the championship, plus he would know Davidson well
