  1. They were here so I assume there will be highlights.
  2. That was Millar's only start for Falkirk, and it only came because he played extremely well when he came on as a sub against Livvy a fortnight previously. He was subbed at halftime at Dens and was released at the end of the season. He was a youth player and never looked like making it IMO. Honestly surprised you remembered him; I had to look him up in a spreadsheet I've kept for years as he made no impression on me. Kingsley was always a class act. The amount of goals he created for Ally Graham and Joe McCafferty in our U19s long before anyone had heard of him was unbelievable.
  3. He came on as a sub in every friendly and did well IMO. He was aggressive (booked against the Shire), keen to get forward and I don't think made any mistakes which cost us a goal. I've no idea how he would fare as a starter in the league but he definitely has promise. I certainly wouldn't be averse to see him getting more game time.
  4. From the FFCTV FAQ page:- Away match broadcasts will be subject to government restrictions, SPFL guidance and access to suitable internet and power facilities therefore coverage cannot be guaranteed. Please visit www.falkirkfc.tv or follow @FalkirkTV on Twitter for updates. Probably also depends on whether the home team let us in and give permission to do live streaming. I know FFCTV weren't allowed access to Starks Park for the friendly and could only get two people into East End on Friday. (there's usually three in Lewis, Russell & Stuart). I suspect it may change from game to game. Presumably the club will confirm about the Montrose game once tonight's match is out the way.
  5. Would you care to elaborate on this Banta? I've noticed that on the whole your posts are very, very supportive of the new board. That's fair enough. Gary Deans seems to have done a good job of repairing some of the PR damage done previously and things look more positive at board level than they've done for a while. New blood coming in, old guard moving on, better communications etc, etc. . If that article were correct then Gow would presumably be in disagreement with the board over the best way forward. Maybe even at loggerheads, or worse. Who knows? I certainly don't. I have no idea who the good or the bad guys are here. You appear be in no doubt. What are these stories you're heard and what exactly is beginning to stink?
  6. Yeah that makes sense. Gives them an opportunity to block the next Hamish Deans from gaining too much power, without committing them to spend cash reserves they may not have.
  7. You've posted two or three times now about the club buying their shares. I don't understand. Why would the club buy back shares? Is there something in the company rules that says this has to happen? Surely if any shareholder wants to cash in it's up to them to find a buyer and negotiate a price. The club may have to rubber-stamp any transaction, but that's not the same as funding it.
  8. I disagree. If that were the case there would be no financial benefit to the club, so why would they be so keen on it happening? Replacing one set of shareholders who don't invest with more of the same achieves nothing. Other than perhaps giving you a difference set of skills that you can tap into. Lex Miller was reported as being keen to sell his shares, but the rumours at the time didn't mention the Rawlins as buyers. Much more to come on this I think.
  9. Reading between the lines of what was said, the impression I got was that the money from Rawlins - if they get accepted - is what will keep us afloat throughout the season regardless of what happens with covid. The alternative is that we have enough cash reserves to survive on our own but the pot will be empty when it comes to building a squad next summer. So either way it would seem we need them onboard.
  10. From various interviews that have been reported, I think it's a given that our next (and final?) signing will be a CH. Maybe even one that's capable of filling in a fullback position, or a fullback who can play CH. As Kingsley would have been. I'm not sure we need a winger. Laverty is a promising (if untested) backup who was unlucky to pick up an injury early in preseason and who hopefully won't be out for much longer. Todd has shown glimpses of what he can do and Connolly seems to have been rejuvenated since M&M arrived. That's three players for two positions, before you count the fact that Alston can play there too. And then there's Cal Morrison. From what I've seen of his performances during the four preseason games, Morrison is top quality. The boy is a player. If he remains clear of injury then signing another winger would be a waste of a wage.
  11. Not while he's on international duty he isn't. A quick check online shows he's with the Scotland U21 squad for the next couple of games.....
  12. I've no idea. It's a reasonable question to ask at the AGM, given that the lack of English loanees makes it look unusual. Number 7s response is feasible, as is the possibility that we paid accommodation for a number of trialists while we looked at them. It's also possible that the likes of MacMillan & Mutch might have had a portion of their accommodation costs paid for. One was obviously in digs of some sort, being Irish, and I doubt the other was travelling from Inverurie every day. Albeit with the latter having signed additional contracts he may no longer be entitled to have his digs subsidised by the club.
  13. I know nothing of any incoming transfers, otherwise I wouldn't be able to comment.
  14. We haven't brought an English player up on loan - which means paying accommodation - since we got relegated to League One. I'd be surprised if that changed now. Particularly given how tight money will be with possibly no fans or hospitality all season. One of the former FVFA recruitment scouts observed on another fan page that West Ham have a good U23 goalie. That's all it usually takes for someone to start up with the "I have a source" stuff. . We shall see.
  15. The point I was debating with SD was whether a late postponement would incur extra costs. Loss of income doesn't really come into that as it would have happened regardless of when the game was pulled. To answer his other points, he's probably correct about ambulance costs, which I didn't consider. I'm certain there are no rooms being used which we have to pay council rental on; you can't meet indoors so the likes of the boardroom etc will all be closed. And the few non-employees who'll be allowed into the stadium are all volunteers. Regardless of how much or little a cancellation might cost us, I'd rather have the three points.
  16. Given that there's no catering, police, or stewarding I don't think it will cost us anything. The only thing I can think of would be an extra covid test if it were rescheduled and that doesn't appear to be on the cards.
  17. Sure I saw a statement somewhere from a Killie board member saying that they will meet tomorrow to decide whether to play a youth team or just forfeit the game.
  18. I agree with you there. Community football is back, in that teams cans play against each other providing everything is done outdoors. However, parents aren't allowed to watch. If you go down to the foundation pitch behind the stadium you'll see plenty of signs barring entry to spectators. 22 kids can play a match at TFS. But their 22 mums can't watch them, even if they're sitting 50 metres apart in the main stand with a capacity of 4,500. It's just a blanket ban on everything at all levels.
  19. Someone posted on two fans facebook pages that it was happening tomorrow. If that were true I'd have expected to know about it. I don't. For that reason I doubt that anything was ever confirmed, though with Connor's departure communications may be a little different now. We'll see tomorrow. I wouldn't bet on it though.
  20. I don't think any covid testing has been done yet. It was meant to start just before the players reported back for preseason but the rules changed. I believe the first test is tomorrow in preparation for the Killie game. I did notice the Foundation posted earlier that all their activities tonight are off. Given that FFC don't train on either Woodlands or the Community Pitch then it' seems unlikely they would close both venues for the night because of something to do with FFC players. Or Shire ones for that matter.
  21. I'm guessing that's the reason. It would mean that smaller clubs like Morton and Arbroath can get some cash out the Hearts fans when their team come visiting. I imagine most teams in the division would feel that way, so it's not hard to understand the decision if it went to a majority vote. Self-interest is never far away from being top of the agenda when it comes to football clubs. No idea what will happen in League One though.
  22. I thought he was very good today and at the Oriam. Imposed himself in both games, which I've never seen him to before. Presumably - depending on TV rights - everything will be live from here on in so you'll soon be able to judge for yourself.
  23. I imagine so. FFCTV were testing their new cameras, staff and systems today. Apparently the whole thing is going to be a lot different when it starts going live.
  24. I don't know the rules, but my guess would be you couldn't have hospitality for home games because then you would be attending a football match - which isn't allowed. However, maybe if they shut the blinds and refused to allow anyone outside then it could be considered the same as any other restaurant which is open for business. I imagine they're looking at it. May also depend on broadcasting rights. FFCTV weren't allowed into Starks Park last Saturday because Raith insisted on "Championship rules" for TV coverage. Apparently the Championship clubs have agreed that only the home club will cover games but they'll make their video available to the away team. Whether that's live or as a rerun only I have no idea. The last I heard nothing had been agreed for League One. I don't know if all our opponents have the ability to record or live steam matches. Probably more info to follow on all this over the coming weeks. Assuming the league actually kicks off.
