I didn't go to nearly enough gigs last year, despite living in Glasgow, so I'm setting out to right that wrong this year. Got Dr. Feelgood at King Tut's lined up for the 13th, Chvrches on the Friday in October, Frightened Rabbit at the Academy in November, Palma Violets the week after at ABC, then Peace and Drenge at QMU the week after that. Possibly the most excited about Foals at the Academy in February, they always look superb live.

Tombstone is on BBC1 tonight at 10.30 (I think) - will get it recorded due to this recommendation! Edit: Make that midnight.

The Wombats were brilliant back in October. Got Rise Against on Friday, then Arctic Monkeys on Tuesday .

Not one duff tune, absolutely tremendous . Loved the Rocky interlude as well, and their cover of 'Blitzkreig Bop' was brilliant. Yeh, Fight Like Apes were a bit of an assault on the ears, but did have a good chuckle at their keyboard player who decided to leave his keyboard every now and again to stare out into the crowd, bizarrely .

Feck. I actually bought the tickets from gigsandtours.com who didn't specify which area of standing the tickets are for but I had previously tried Ticketmaster who said there were no downstairs tickets left, so I'm assuming my tickets are for upstairs. Do you think there's any chance the tickets I bought are for downstairs?

Rise Against in November . Never been to the Academy, if you've bought tickets for 'upper' standing, is it relativley easy to get down to the front?

NFG tickets booked Pretty much every review I've seen has said they're amazing live, so really excited.

No doubt, Siren Song is their best for me. 'Swing Life Away' is especially good.
