  1. If Shankland out we could do with Moore getting at least a couple to get his confidence up, need a good team performance and a great day for the strikers before getting back to two massive league games. Hopefully if Shankland was close to fitness he will be ok in another week.
  2. Listening to the manager Dundee Utd still trying despite his statement. Seems confident that Smith, Shankland , Crawford and Rose are going nowhere for now.
  3. Think McGuffie would benefit from a loan as long he’s playing regularly.
  4. Another week to get players fit, hopefully missing out yesterday means Smith/Shankland will be fit and Murdoch will be back in, massive few weeks coming up which could go a long way to define the rest of the season.
  5. We seem to be carrying a few injuries, 4 in the stand and according to the manager we also had a couple of late fitness tests before the game which in itself means they were not at full potential but putting themselves through it for the team. We don’t have the money that the DUtd and RC can throw at it and even Falkirk, so we have to hope we get through this period without any more casualties
  6. Couple of areas need stronger cover/competition. If Forrest is long term McDaid needs pushed, not hits the same level as the Utd game, could do with winger on right as don’t think McGuffie is st this level. If Shanks gets injury or goes this window, then another striker would be needed. Not sure who’s available but can’t stand still if everyone else is strengthening their squads. Any more lengthy injuries to our first 11 could be a problem
  7. I’d be happy if we brought in a winger and another striker, but I’d be delighted if we see out January without losing any players. I’m sure there will be offers and a bit of tapping up getting done if it hasn’t started already. We have a great group of young players at the moment and just hope they see out the season before deciding their futures!
  8. If Saints are getting shot there is an obvious issue with the player, i would prefer to stay clear and use any wage on a player who is fit and ready in Jan.
  9. What about Cammy Smith in January, out of favour with St Mirren, championship team of the year last season.
  10. I would think the average wage at Ayr is somewhere around £600 pw so any move to England would significantly increase their wage.
  11. I would imagine there’s been contact from some clubs already expressing interest in those players who are out of contract in the summer, aa much as I’d like to see them playing for Ayr next season I think Rose, Murdoch and Smith may be off to pastures new. Hopefully it’ll be on May and not January and they have league winners medals.
  12. Suppose it’ll depend if there’s interest from elsewhere and they make a precontract offer. With so many scouts watching Shankland they can’t help but notice the others. Be good to see them tied up for longer deals.
  13. We are now a third of the way through the season and it’s evident we are exceeding expectations, it’s been great to watch the team and all the players playing a vital part. Do you think we need to strengthen any areas in January and do you think we are at risk of losing anyone, Shanks will attract most attention but scouts must also be noticing the performances of others in the team.
  14. Wouldn’t get upset about this result, Rangers have improved their squad significantly. They have pace in abundance throughout the side and we found it difficult to get any space to play. There was enough to show that a championship level Ayr will compete with anyone in the division and that’s what we should be thinking about.
  15. Heard Binos are throwing money into trying to get good squad, heard they'd also offered Julen a deal !
