  1. C'mon admit it, you're getting that sick feeling again.

This is not really going to plan since the No vote is it?

 Are you still dropping tears on your keyboard and trying to influence people to change their minds?

Ah now I know how those No to Yes conversion anecdotes really panned out

  2. Au Contraire.

It merely suggests that the campaign for an independent Scotland will go on and on. It's far from dead in the water. You're not going to change the way people think about that.

The annihilation of Labour and the Tories (in Scotland) at the May election will herald the dawn of a new era in Scottish politics.

    Mark my words.

    :)

2 months later? Of course there'll be fervour for 2 years for independence but once the fact that there won't be a referendum for years sets in and the students get jobs, people get disillusioned by Nicola, it'll die out. People are no longer patient. In days gone by they were but now they get fed up quickly

  3. How would you know? Given you didn't join this site until a month after the referendum, surely you didn't read through all the threads over a month old?

I read HB's posts and then read through the clusterf**k posts from Yes voters. I find it an hilarious activity which I recommend. Some people are so unaware which is funny but combined with misplaced arrogance it feels right to laugh at them

  4. Oculus - genuinely scary and gripping psychological horror film about a malevolent mirror. The film opens with a young man being released from a State mental institution after committing an act of violence. His sister (Karen Gillan with an authentic American accent) comes to pick him up and reveals her plans to destroy the mirror which was responsible for their situation. The film then continues with two parallel timelines one of which reveals what happened 11 years previously and other in the present when the girl reveals a meticulous plan to destroy the mirror. It's well written, well acted and really creepy. 8/10

  5. You vote UKIP.

Remember that before having a pop at someone else's voting habits

You never shut your trap about the Middle East and you know nothing about it aside from some leftie websites or biased news reports. Maybe you should educate yourself a bit more?

  6. It's tremendous. Cranks up the tension pretty well.

Yep and practically every scene like where she goes into the police station. It's the best horror film imo since "The Exorcist"

Back on topic, I recommend you avoid Horns. A pseudo dark thriller which is actually a predictable fantasy horror with Harry Potter 3/10. I thought it was sh**e but of course all the English film critics just luuurve Daniel

  7. The chances of a referendum over the next few years are slim to nil but to say there will never be another referendum is just silly. Sounds like P&B's resident Ukips are just trying to convince themselves here frankly.

A referendum is up to the UK government to decide....

"What are you going to do? Invade...." ;)

  8. Agree with this. My favourite ever film. The first time I watched it, it was all I could think about and I watched it again about 2 hours later.

    A genuine masterpiece.

Still don't understand the Lost in Translation love. I'm inclined to believe that the viewers are mesmerised by yon Black Widow's arse at the beginning, before seeing their own midlife crises mirrored in the rest. Certainly not bad, but I'm still a bit mystified.

It did introduce me to Peaches, however, so there's that.

Don't know about Gall but I doubt your view Dave. For a start I'm about 15-20 years younger than the Bob (Murray) character and Johannsen didn't do it for me in the physical sense. I think it was the combination of the view of Tokyo perfectly captured as being a vast Metropolis and the soulful meeting of two people who find that they're intellectually and emotionally connected. It wasn't a father figure, it wasn't anything sexual. It was more than that. Again though words don't capture what I loved about it. The soundtrack was fantastic although the lap dancing scene and it's choice of song was meant to capture how distasteful it was but if you enjoyed that part of the film, that's your prerogative ;)

  9. Agree with this. My favourite ever film. The first time I watched it, it was all I could think about and I watched it again about 2 hours later.

    A genuine masterpiece.

It looks beautiful and it's a film about reflecting on life and relating to people in a genuine way against a backdrop of alienation and superficiality. I think though that while that's accurate, it's just critical garbage-speil ;)

It's a film that transcends words and leaves you feeling stronger for having seen it
