  1. He looked quite promising in his first 2 or 3 games, albeit in the context of everyone round about him being utterly hopeless. He was poor at Ayr last week though, costing us the first goal through overplaying, and largely anonymous today. He was only signed on a 6-month loan and you wonder if he is already thinking "F**k this, just get through to January and then I'm out of here" I would not start him next week against Alloa, although none of the alternatives are any more appealing really. Surely Sammut is worth a selection ahead of any of Irving, Paton or McKee, who has done precious little in the past 2 games either. Tbh, talking about team selection, formation etc is akin to shuffling deckchairs on the Titanic, it all comes round to the same conclusion, which is that we'll be visiting Forfar and Arbroath on league business very soon.
  2. Today's performance confirmed that the "cling on to Alloa's coattails until January" strategy is never, ever going to work. It will be far, far too late by then on all available evidence to date. As suggested by others, we really need about 7 or 8 free agents right now to stand any sort of a chance. This is the biggest collection of dross masquerading as a Falkirk squad ever assembled, certainly in recent memory. Of that starting eleven today, perhaps two have any business collecting a wage as a professional footballer. This is reminiscent of the season Raith Rovers handed over the keys to Claude Anelka, who proceeded to bring in a job lot of French diddies. Raith finished that season 30 points adrift of safety. Mitchell is the UK equivalent of Le Fraud.
  3. Why single out Dallison? That whole back four and goalkeeper are rank rotten and collectively s**t themselves the minute Ayr exerted some pressure. They simply bottled it. The "something to build on" chat is utterly pointless whilst we have that defence in situ. Get in Irvine and Greer, and bring in Russell and Robson, who should both have been on that park today, and we might have something to build on. With the current charlatans we are heading for League 1, that defence will relegate us, end of.
  4. Them all. In what game did the crowd specifically single out and target Sammut for abuse? I'll save you the time, they didn't.
  5. What booing? Just making stuff up to promote the Big Bag Falkirk Fans Lie/Myth that some on here are still obsessed with perpetuating at every opportunity.
  6. Irvine is not a bad shout at all, always been a fairly respectable player at this level and as good as we are likely to get in the present dire circumstances.
  7. He could start by ensuring that utter dogs***e like Kidd, Lewis, Brough, Harrison, Paton and Competition Winner are never seen in the first team again, except in the most dire of emergencies. That would be something.
  8. Nonsense. As good as we could expect given the c*****k we are in. Hope this is true. There was a post about three days ago saying he had been seen at TFS
  9. Possibly a loan signing You cannot make any loan signings after today. There will be precious little left in the way of quality amongst any free transfers still kicking around. We're stuck with what we have, a pretty frightening prospect, buckle up.
  10. Why ominous? I can think of worse appointments. Hopefully he's still got Quitongo's number
  11. Is said Scottish manager currently in employment ?
  12. Agreed. Bizarre names tbh (Donati??!!) Clark is a ludicrous character who brought in a job lot of unknowns from England to disastrous consequences, sounds familiar. No thanks and surely no chance, no job for a rookie
  13. And if they do that (which they won't, as the holders of the majority of the shares do not give a toss now that they have all their cash back), there will be a hell of a lot more than the manager clearing the desks. Our wonderful CEO is conspicuous by his absence these days, I wonder why.
  14. So his sole remit was to avoid relegation, even though we weren't even in a relegation position when he took over? Obviously someone forgot to give him that remit upon his appointment https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41502589
  15. Yep. Everything just stayed the same. We were on course to finish better than 8th. Bring back Houstie. No point in even arguing. You made a statement that is, factually, absolute nonsense. That has been pointed out to you. Move on
  16. There is no "only 8th" from the position we were in. Except, when Hartley took over, on 4/10/17, we were sitting in, erm, 8th position.
  17. He has already signed two physical strikers in Haber and Mackin, so I doubt Nelson will be back. If he is looking for someone to provide a bit of spark and something different up front then Jai Quitongo might just be worth an enquiry, albeit he has a shocking injury record (probably the reason he is still unattached) and is likely to have more attractive offers if he can prove his fitness. But it's extremely slim pickings at this stage of this season, there is not much left.
  18. So you did nothing, and settled for coming on here moaning about fans moaning, pretty much the most pointless enterprise going. Ok, thanks for confirming.
  19. I take it you confronted all of these supporters who have so obviously offended your uberfan w****r sensibilities today? Or did you just crap yourself and decide to act the big man on this forum instead? I think I can probably guess.
  20. Of course I'd have kept it open. Development and progress of young players is cyclical, the fact that nothing has come through in the past couple of years does not mean it should have been closed. Failure by those on the pitch means we have literally nothing to fall back on now. Those who took their loans back were the very people responsible for the mess the club was in in the first place. You're deluded if you think we've taken some kind of giant leap forward by scrapping it.
  21. What a disgraceful, ignorant comment that is. You're trolling I presume. The academy, the only part of the club (along with the support) which has pulled its weight over the past decade. The products of which have enabled the club to take in well over seven figures, not that we have had any benefit from it , beyond those so desperate for the repayment of their "soft"loans. A product of which provided a significant six-figure payment last summer simply by moving from one English club to another. Yep, I am delighted at their far-sighted decision to close it and that kids and their parents had to find out about its closure through a report in the national media. What a proud day that was. And without it, we might not have been in a position to sign Turner, Brough, Harrison, Petra and the rest of the obscure cast we are now relying on. What's not to like?
  22. Lewis isn't a winger. God help us if we're going to persist in shoehorning players into positions they are not comfortable with, far too much of that nonsense in recent years.
  23. Yes https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/2990002/hearts-ross-callachan-malaury-martin-quit-craig-levein-jambos/ Not quite made the step up to Hearts, but more than capable of doing a job in the Championship. Would give us the sorely-needed drive in midfield, if we could get one more player in, he'd be top of the list.
