To contrast that, I've been to the Allianz at Munich for a Bayern league game. Sell out 70,000 crowd. We hung around after the game having a couple of pints in the ground checking on the Aberdeen score (2-0 win at Easter Road year they went down). Then went outside and there were still loads of folk milling about so we stayed for another couple of drinks, had some food, then train back into town 2 hours after the game ended. Obviously some people will need to get away straight away, but if the stadiums set up with something like this in mind, instead of the usual disappear after a game the club open up a new 'experience' (for want of a better word). Tony's right though, no time for sentiment.

Exactly, and something that may not be seen as traditional in this country but something that works well in Germany as you say. I would welcome it. It could open up AFC to a different group. Again, getting away from the 'lad' culture many who are against it think an out of town ground would lose, but think the club itself would happy to be seen to be more family focused (£££££££). Football's not like it was in the 70/80's. Move with it or be left behind.

Strange example given Atletico have literally just moved out of that ground to one on the outskirts of Madrid cos they couldn't build a new on that site...

News to me. I'm all for alternative ideas but they're lacking in any detail other than 'redevelop Pittodrie', which the club say cannot be done. Unfortunately Aberdeen don't have an unlimited budget either. Yes be ambitious but you also have to adopt a realistic outlook.

It's not the price of land, it's the actual land itself. There's very little to choose from in the city centre and even just outside it.
