  1. I am not a fan of Trump! He is orange! Also not keen on David Dickinson. He is orange! Christ I am fucking racist!!!!!
  2. They are one of the supports to King Witch in Bannermans. Which is on the same night as Demon in Glasgow! Bummer as would have went to Bannermans.
  3. Went through to Motherwell last night for Sons Of Apollo the band featuring Mike Portnoy and Derek Sherinian both ex of Dream Theater, Billy Sheehan Mr Big and Dave Lee Roth, Bumblefoot (Ron Thal) ex G N R and Jeff Scott Soto of Trans Siberian Orchestra. Absolutely fantastic. They are playing later in the year in Glasgow Garage. I cannot recommend them enough. Plenty of virtuoso playing with lots of fun thrown in. One of the best gigs I have seen this year without a doubt!
  4. Was in Motherwell last night for Sons Of Apollo. Really cracking venue the civic hall. Good size stage, excellent sound. Although I did feel when I went in I was back in school for assembly. Could do with larger bars and more variety of beers (only 2 lagers in bottles) but if they start putting on more rock style gigs they might change that. Band themselves were absolutely fantastic. Plenty of virtuosity but also a shit load of fun. A couple of Dream Theater songs and some Queen as well ("The Prophet Song"?) adding to a great set. Those of a more metal persuasion might be advised to check them out in Glasgow later in the year.
  5. Great gig by Roger Waters in Glasgow Friday. Although I thought things were going to kick off when he mentioned one side of the arse cheeks! Battersea down the middle and the prism were magnificent. The interval screen was also well worth a read. Did find it funny some folk complaining it was "political". Take it none of them own to many of his solo albums! Next a trip to Motherwell on Monday for Sons Of Apollo! A first for me as only ever been in Motherwell to go to football. Strange but a change from normal.
  6. Thanks for that, I didn't know they were playing. Ticket booked! Cheers for that!
  7. Suppose it isn't exactly metal as such..... but lots of metallers love the music of Rush, especially the early stuff, so just to say if anyone is in Edinburgh tomorrow night then Bannerman's Bar in the Cowgate have a 3 piece Italian tribute band with the fitting name "La Villa Strangiato" playing. Having seen them before I can say they are superb at delivering the music and are great fun as well. £8 in advance (probably a tenner on the night). If anyone sees me say hi, I will be found at the bar then down the front!
  8. Don't do many tribute type gigs, but doing this one. 3 Italians playing 2 hours of Rush music. In Bannerman's Bar as well. Don't plan to do much on Sunday....
  9. So a game against Aberdeen tomorrow...... then off to the Weege for Epica! Anyone else heading to that? I am hoping to be in celebratory mode before I get there, but even if not I am sure I shall cheer up and have a better evening!
  10. Anyone at Testament/Annihilator/Vader last night at the QMU? Apart from the ridiculous time taken to get in (those who had self printed tickets had to wait the longest as apparently they only had 1 working scanner at the door), I thought it a good night. Annihilator were as always superb with Jeff being the happiest man to be seen on a stage in recent times. He gets stronger as a frontman every time I see them. Testament were really good with a few songs I can't remember hearing live before which was pleasing. However 4 solos from the band in the set was a bit much (2 guitar, 1 bass and 1 drum). I give a Brucie bonus on hearing some Tool and Rush (including a section of "Cygnus X1) in the bass solo. Nice to see how many folks went mental for that! What are other's views that were there?
  11. Anyone going along to The Men Who Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing on Wednesday at Bannermans? The new album is bloody excellent. Personally looking forward to it.
  12. I have no idea if the writer has an allegiance to Dundee United! If he is then for me he is a bit of a dick... and a coward. Where is he highlighting the basket case that is the zombies? His reporting has been highlighted as a pile of shite! Well he does work foe the Daily ***!
  13. Seems the Daily Ranger has a piece on Dundee, scrutinising their finances (as they can't or won't do Zombie FC) and came up with a pile of pish! Last I read Dundee have told the rag they are banned from the ground (kind of a general f**k off). Well done Dundee. More clubs need to tell them to do similar. Wankers!
  14. Went to Dan Reed and Danny Vaughn the other night in the Voodoo Rooms in Edinburgh the other night. Have to say what a great night again. Really good to see 2 singers and songwriters that get on so well with their acoustic guitars singing and chatting away. Lots of laughs as well as great music. Danny's version of "Love of my life" by Queen was stupendous. Next up is tomorrow. Trip to Glasgow to see 3 up and coming acts in rock and metal in Stone Broken, Jared James Nichols and Bad Flowers at G2. Seen the headliners a few times and they seem to be improving all the time and Jared is I have been told really excellent live.
  15. Just seen that Saxon are playing the Barrowlands in October with Y & T supporting along with Toby Jepson's new band Wayward Sons! Bloody decent line up. Only pity is that Y & T won't play their normal 2 and a half hours....
  16. With Priest only playing 1 UK show at Bloodstock, I wonder if that is one where Glenn may feel he can join in being as close to his home as it is! Really awful to read that he is struggling so much. Priest are one of the founding fathers of metal and it is sad that they are coming to an end. Like AC/DC time, age and health has caught up with them. Like AC/DC what a body of music and legacy Priest have. I remember seeing them first time in the Edinburgh Odeon in 1980 with Maiden as support. What a night that was. I wish Glenn all the best.
  17. Continuing a busy month and following on from The New Roses in Bannermans on Friday night (who were absolutely first class) next up in Opium on Tuesday is the Tool/Deftones style Deadly Circus Fire (with the mighty Ramage Inc) giving us an evening of fairly heavy and intense prog. So much good stuff going on at the moment.
  18. This week I am heading twice to Glasgow for Vuur at the ABC on Wednesday and Therion at the Audio on the Thursday. Interested to see how all of Therion will fit on the stage there!
  19. Well the SFA once again show themselves up for what they are. 2 faced hypocritical wankers. It seems that their stand against racist, sexist, homophobic language chanting etc is 100% a sham. We have fans banned for those actions. No quarter given. These views and actions have no place in Scottish football they say! Quite right No truck with this sad pathetic ignorant shite (same as all the sectarian garbage). Yet we have a convicted racist playing for Celtic and Scotland in Griffiths! Remember he was "caught up in the moment, not thinking, not had a great upbringing, not the brightest and we can't stop him doing the only job he really knows".... somethings which are probably true of arses in the crowd. The whole job thing was and is a farce. If a stupid or ignorant supporter is caught and charged in other walks of life they will often be fired. Why should someone in football be any different? Now the SFA appoint a scummy racist sexist arsehole to an important position in Scottish football. The people running our game are actually WORSE than any ned in the stands. They p/ick and choose when it is ok to be racist, homophobic and sexist. If it might benefit Scotland then it seems all can be forgiven. But hey who will miss a supporter or 2? .I actually find it hard to support my own country due to this lot who run the game and having a racist (albeit talented) scumbag up front (well if he gets a game...). My love or pride in my own national side has waned even more by this appointment. SFA 2 faced racist, homophobic sexist scumbags!
  20. Not seen this posted anywhere else (apologies to mods if I haven't noticed it), but it appears we won an award from an organisation of listed business people! This is the link...... http://www.instituteforturnaround.com/news/articles/outstanding-business-transformation-and-recovery-recognised-ift-awards So a well done to all who helped, from Ann Budge to all those who have signed up to FOH. Feel proud to be a part of it all.
  21. Queen Ann is absolutely fantastic. Loving the updates. Hopefully Prince signs up in January. Personally be delighted if she sticks around as a CEO. Oh and my first post....so hello folks!
