Nobody is hanging on to his coat tails, if it was not for JG Darvel would be nowhere that’s a fact. Loitering about the bottom divisions and that’s another fact. Considerable personal investment after investment which he did not need to do. Your and others are quick to slate him, put your money where your mouth is, but you won’t. You’re happy to come on here and spout nonsense after nonsense. Have you ever thought that after 8 years of personal investment, maybe enough money was spent, I would imagine as successful as JG as a businessman he is not an endless pot of money maybe enough was enough? Or maybe if you read the statement the club put out, maybe it’s nothing to do with money. But again that doesn’t fit your narrative.

the past people involved are now better off being forgotten about due to the way they have acted since they got their marching orders. Dummies out the pram, caused nothing but harm to the club you all profess to love. I’ve said it many times on here, the club is a better place without Wylie, yourself and your wee group of idiots who only saw pound signs and got found out.

Regarding the names you’ve said when the club was on its knees, not everyone has been a supporter as a boy or been there since the start or been there when times were tough but People come and go that’s allowed to happen, the main thing is since they have been there, they have stood up and worked hard for the club and done more for the club than you ever will. Don’t be bitter because you are not involved because that’s exactly what you are. If you’re going to name them why not name JG and say where was he when the club was on its knees? Oh wait he took over and brought the above named people in with him. Again doesn’t fit your narrative.

Sporting director is not effectively club secretary, as there is a club secretary. You’d know that because you know all the ins and outs don’t you?

Well said my man. Certainly hit the nail on the head with ex committee men. Liked telling the Pieman how to spend his money but took the huff when he decided different. Doubt any of them lifted a hand at any work that was  needed done yet there puppet on here asking what guys who actually contribute to the maintenance of the pitch etc bring to the club.We all know who Rhubarbs puppet masters are and he's silly enough to be the fall guy for them. I take it there will be a mad rush of sponsors and others volunteering there services now the Pieman is away. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting

He has spent a fortune on players but he ain't no pep Guardiola that's for sure pep has won loads of leagues and cups micks won erm 1 league and couldn't get that team promoted he is just a lucky person I would say and if u want to talk best non league manager tucker is and I think everyone would agree

Hoofball manager who spent money also. A football dinosaur compared to Mick Guardiola

In that he spends an absolute fortune on players?

Imagine that a manger spending money on players. As if no other football manager has ever done that. All the great managers spent fortunes and broke transfer records. There are plenty of other managers past and present who have spent fortunes at Mick's level  plus the fact anyone signing for him has there fee and wages exaggerated to unbelievable levels. He was responsible for the greatest result any non league team has ever had in the Scottish cup who's budget would have dwarfed anything Mick had.

My only says were starting the lottery and getting mick in , that worked no bad eh 🤔

n tell me why there wouldn’t be an agm open to everyone , be quite interesting 🤔

Did you start the lottery ? When I joined someone else claimed it was there idea and funnily enough they are no longer on the committee. Maybe it was you though that pic on Rhubarbs profile looks nothing like the guy who signed me up though. Mick was the best thing that ever happened to Darvel and probably the best manager at non league level so congratulations on that. Do love your rants on Saturday nights though and though you might not be everyone cup of tea you are Mr Darvel as far as I am concerned. You can't really have an open to everyone AGM as it attracts all sorts. There should be one though that is open to season ticket holders or at least someone representing them.

Hopefully have a better support for than the away side this week.  Quite worried as season tickets don’t cover the game and then you’ve got Christmas shopping.  It really is a worry at moment, is there anything the club can do to better promote it as lack of gate receipts surely have to be hurting us? We can’t be relying on QTS bailing us out all the time need to be self sufficient.

Hardly relying on QTS money. £20 k a year will probably cover one of the players wages. There are other sponsors plus there lottery and the pieman. Darvel has never had a large support and it has grew considerably in the last few year but never to anything like the better supported teams. Even if Darvel agreed with Larkhall to reduce the price of entry it wouldn't put many on to the gate.

How did Gall get involved at Darvel in the first place? Did he approach the club or did they approach him?

His son played for them and he got involved from there. I surmise he would have been approached or at least encouraged to get on the committee.Funny though others were asked and didn't get involved fully till the pieman was fully  in. Then there was a stampede of people volunteering there services. Think a few were happy for the pieman to be the sugar daddy and for them to spend his cash with no questions asked. Spat the dummy when he decided he was the boss and he would decide. The keys were offered to others but they declined. Not enough cash apparently. He got carried away with the publicity,a charismatic manager and an over ambitious committee. He's now seeing a bigger picture and realises that Darvel can't sustain a semi pro team paying way above the odds nor can most of the teams in the league. He's probably encouraged a few others to overspend and rely on someone pumping money in.

They will definitely get to the end of the season. I have no doubt about that.

I did hear a rumour towards the end of last season that Gall got an ultimatum from auditors who visited Pie HQ.

Along the lines of run your business properly and stop throwing money at your hobby or you won’t have a business…

Gall has thrown more money at his favourite football team than he has ever thrown at Darvel.

  8. Getting put out the cup early doors was always going to effect the playing squad. Financially it was a disaster plus the fact the they were proved not up to it. Fergie was going to EK anyway and getting money for him was a bonus as he would have been able to sign a pre contract come January.I would expect more to follow.

He's not be taken for a ride, he's doing this known very well what he's doing.  I believe he's only doing this as he as some connection to Darvel previously, i.e., always been a supporter of Darvel.  I think any guy who came into a big lump of money to not even worry about money anymore, lottery etc... would want to put some money into the club that they love.

He should know that some of these players would be getting nowhere near that sort of cash elsewhere. He has been great for Darvel and brought them into the 21 st century. There is no doubt without him they would be struggling in the bottom leagues but he isn't a bottomless pit. Sooner or later he will stop pumping ridiculous amount of money in. Everyone knows the club he loves and it ain't Darvel

  10. If rumours are to be believed the ex QOTS player is supposed to be on 40k a year. That must make him one of the best payed part timer in Scotland and only Arbroath could match those wages part time.  The chairman told me not so long ago that the average wage for the squad was just over £200 a week. Whatever figure is true that is not sustainable at Darvel with the bloated squad they have. Nor is it value for money especially with recent results. Can't believe a guy who runs a successful business can be taken for a ride that easy. He better have deep pockets to terminate a few contracts shortly.

If what I’m hearing is true to keep him at the club for 2 years will be costing darvel in the region of 80k plus for his services , now that’s more than some players are on at Killie , livingston for example , by all accounts he’s a good guy and no doubt he’s a top Player but that’s obscene for this level of football

£800 a week for a part timer is hard to believe. Apart from Arbroath no part time team will pay anything like that. Does he get a bonus on top of his wage if they win or get promoted ? If they are paying that they aren't getting value for money as they are far better players than McShane available for the kind of money.

I assume he was under contract for next season and club buying has paid a transfer fee? Wouldn’t think Darvel sign someone for 5 figures and give him a 12 month deal? Anyone else know who’s off?

    Kilpatrick away to Stenny.

Interesting that the local authority just transferred ownership of the ground to the Club for no price or consideration-are you sure that’s the case.

Also didn’t realise Darvel was a limited company and visible at Companies House re shareholding etc. When did they convert from an unincorporated association ie a club to a limited company?

EAC transferred the sports centre, the football park at Newmilns, Hurlford community centre and countless other pitches and community centres to whoever wanted to run them. I would think recreation park would be no different but I suppose you could e mail the council and find out if they had transferred it to the football club. They haven't been responsible for the upkeep for years now and I doubt very much they would want it. As for the football club you would need to ask the pieman if he owns it. It's under his stewardship and it's his money ( supposedly) that's keeping it afloat.

  14. 23 hours ago, Ceejayar said:

The park is on lease from the council and it remains to be seen if everything is paid for or it is owed to Gall/Brownings the bakers, there’s no way of telling as I believe it was a closed shop agm. If the money is legally owed back the club is fucked.

The park would have been handed over to Darvel (if they wanted it )  like all the other like facilities in East Ayrshire. EAC transferred most of them to the community a few years back. The Sports centre in Darvel and pitch being one such facility transferred. There will be clauses though such as you can't just sell it for housing. I assume the pieman now owns  the club and probably him and his family are the only shareholders. Hence why there is no balance sheet. If he goes the pitch and facilities will still be there for a Darvel team to play on. At what level though is a different matter
