The treatment Tomi gets by sections of our support is ridiculous. AUMedia's character assassination didn't help either. A false narrative has been created, he is comfortably our best player.

He should be starting. I find it baffling that he isn't - you don't tend to win football matches by keeping your best players on the bench.

Irrespective of what anyone thinks of Adeloye, it's very clear that Ashford is having very little impact up front on his own in terms of shots. I am struggling to think of a single shot he had on target up in Inverness and it was the same again today. Adeloye definitely created more opportunities and shots and it was just frustrating that Bullen took so long to make any changes when it was clear it was not working. The biggest issue in my opinion is that we are so narrow and Bullen needs to change the starting eleven to address that.

I presume that Murdoch has tested positive for Covid so I hope that he will be back next week.

I thought McGinty did well again today, he is one player who has really improved in recent weeks and I never thought I would be saying that.

I think a number on here are under estimating the club and Bullen frankly. They would have been fully aware of this clause. It would also have been a consideration in their planning both short term and mid term. Not least because it's more of next seasons wage budget committed.

The calculus from Bullen is that short term playing McGinty gives us the best chance of staying up and triggering the extension is a price worth paying. I don't agree with that but I can understand the premise of that position.

A decision was taken to play McGinty and you can be certain given how detailed orientated Bullen, Mathie et al are that the contract extension would have been considered. It would certainly not have been an after thought as has been suggested. I'd be pretty concerned if that were the case.

Yes, it could well be the case that Bullen thinks that McGinty reduces the likelihood of relegation and therefore the financial impact of that. So the 40k or whatever it costs to have McGinty for another season could be a price worth paying. That doesn't necessarily mean he would have kept McGinty in other circumstances.

Does anyone have an estimate of the financial impact to a full-time championship club of relegation to league 1?

Also, one question for people who attended the Hub event - did anyone ask Bullen whether he was likely to play two up front and accommodate Adeloye and Ashford in the same team? Or is he set on making the 4-5-1 work?

Heard it was waterlogged this morning , will it drain and hold up to tomorrow’s forecast ?

I hope they give some indication if it is going to be on. Even if it isn't officially off, if the club (Inverness) could give their unofficial view it would be very helpful. I'm planning on going and I've got a hotel booked that I can cancel up until 6pm on Friday - after that I lose the money and it wasn't cheap.

I feel we're getting slightly better as we go, but I really fear it won't be enough unless we see more drastic improvements in the next 2/3 games.

After the game at Palmerston I was sure we were going to go down, and while we don't look like as much of a bin fire, there hasn't been anywhere near enough to suggest we are capable of pulling away. I think it'll be 9th for us.

I am a bit more optimistic. I think it will be very tight but I definitely see improvements., both on Tuesday and again today. The last time we played Dunfermline we lost 3-0 and were never in the game. Today I think we were unfortunate not to win. Dunfermline are ahead of us on goal difference - so everything to play for.

It's going to go to the last game of the season, without a doubt, but I think if we continue to improve we will have a chance of finishing 8th.

I repeat we are grim. I still think its 50/50 that we finish bottom. The way we setup is suffocating the team.

Maybe I am delusional but I did think we were improved last night. Even up until the final whistle I thought we might nick an equaliser (and fans' favourite McGinty nearly did with the header from the corner) - in neither of the two games previously against Partick were we even vaguely in the match at half time let alone full time.

The team we have aren't capable of playing like the one we had when we played Alloa off the park before McCall left. No manager could get them doing that and if we can work hard and fight to get points for 90 minutes rather than capitulating after 20 minutes that is progress.

You could understand a mentality of, first things first, we'll be hard to beat.

I can't understand what he's trying to do.

I was watching the match on the stream, which was terrible, but from what I could see I did think we were much improved compared to the last two games against Thistle. Ashford looks quick and we contained Thistle for the majority of the game. The team does seem to be working hard at least which is a big change from Duffy's last game in charge. It was hard to tell for sure on the stream but it looked like we were very lucky on at least one occasion not to concede a penalty.

The pitch was nearly as bad as the stream which spoiled the game for both teams but I think we'll all want and expect to see more football being played on Saturday.

I can think of numerous players in Scottish football who are far worse, albeit they all get far more leeway than Tomi who is generally booked immediately. He is quite demonstrative when he does it, which possibly doesn’t help him and our officious referees obviously have to be seen to do something if someone throws their hands up on frustration.

It's not just in Scottish football that Adeloye has that record of being booked - looking at his time at Barnet and Ebbsfleet his ratio of minutes to bookings was even worse.

I think it's probably the piss poor distribution that Adeloye receives that has maybe made him look like he has an attitude problem. If I were him, receiving balls coming from the back and having to challenge for them constantly, i'd have an attitude too. However, if he received passes along the ground, with the build up we had in the second half yesterday, I'm certain his goal tally would double before the end of the season.

I agree that Adeloye has done well to get as many goals as he has given we have played many games effectively without a midfield. Plus his finishing is very good generally (the one on one he missed the other week being the most notable "sitter" I can think of).

However, I think you just have to look at his disciplinary record to get an idea of his attitude - he has had 7 yellow cards in the league and although I haven't checked each one, I think the majority will have been for dissent. He constantly moans and whinges in games to the officials. For a forward to get 7 yellow cards is ridiculous - even Baird and McGinty between them only have 4 in the league! He got a similar ratio of cards to minutes played in his previous club too. While he may be frustrated, I expect more discipline from professionals - he is not 12 years old.

Probably, just like McDaid and Zanatta did, but who cares as long as they're away. He had enough time to prove his worth.

Just reading all these posts after work and I actually think I may be dreaming. We manage to bring in a midfielder (who knows what he'll be like), but we also managed to offload dross to a competitor. Chalmers can only make Dunfermline worse if he actually gets game time. If we are also really linked with Dorrans that can also only be an upgrade.

If the rest of the week is half as good as today then it's going to be a great one!

Would you not prefer the chance to attend match, than play with 500 home fans?

The harsh reality is that we are in serious danger of being relegated. I think Kilmarnock were weaker when the game was originally due to be played and while I'm clearly not saying we would have got anything from the game I think we would have had more of a chance to get a point. A point could make all the difference come the end of the season.

    Watched match on the livestream.

After a good 20 minute period in the first half we just fell away completely. Worryingly there was no real change in our play in the 2nd half until the substitutions came on. Adeloye looked isolated, Chalmers seemed to lose the ability to beat the 1st man with a cross and Maxwell looked off it today.  Feel that Adeloye could do with some help as at times he clearly looked forlon and frustrated.  As other posters have said I dread to think where we would be without the goals he's got this season so I'd be reluctant to criticise him too much.

Gondoh looked pacey and up for it when he was subbed on. O' Connor also seemed to give us some attacking threat. Byrden came on too late to make a difference, hopefully he gets more time in future.

Morton looked considerably improved and took their chances well.

I don't envy the job Bullen has ahead of him, you'd be struggling to find any manager in the world who'd get the squad as it stands to find a cosistent rhythm. Hopefully today emphasises to Dave Smith and the club the need for some siginings this month and a major rework in the summer.

I agree with all of this. I was at the game and the most disappointing thing for me was that Bullen didn't make changes at half time. After a very bright start, we were contained extremely well by Morton and it didn't get any better in the second half. There was very little support for Adeloye but he is not the person to play that lone striker role in my opinion.

I also thought that McKenzie was completely anonymous and I would have replaced him with Moffat at half-time.

Will be interesting to see how Bullen reacts.

Personally think people are being overly harsh on this one, he is essentially a new signing. Saturday was the first time he's ever been in a squad let alone on the park to my knowledge. The fact he's then gone on to sign a pro-contract off the back of that by definition is a new signing as he's never been on a pro-contract so his squad status has changed from being an eligible youngster to being a full time member of the first team. It is a massive moment for him and his family, should let them enjoy it.

Other clubs have been doing similar all through the window to announce contract / loan extensions. Personally I'd rather this than that horrific effort Montrose came up with the other night for Keatings.

Completely agree. I actually think it was a great gesture by the club to show how important they view that step up - it was great for that individual and I am sure every Ayr fan hopes he will be massively successful. People are also quick to complain that we don't give people from the academy a chance early enough - we now have someone being given a great opportunity and we should congratulate everyone involved.

I’ve always found him massively overrated although he’s moved about a fair bit for being only 22. Might be worth a punt if he’s fit but I doubt it.

As for that Twitter page, I’m not sure I’d believe the word of an account with less than 100 followers.

Well, Allan Johnston said on Sportsound on Saturday that he was trying to bring in 4 for QoS, so on that basis alone it appears to be fiction.

We're trying to punt Afalobi back to Celtic but they don't want him, Celtic don't want Griffiths back either so i think it's a personnel thing with having so many strikers at Celtic Park just now instead of anything direct towards us as a club.

I hadn't realised that we couldn't end the loan deal in January - I thought with most loans that either side could end it in Jan. Seems a bit odd to have it asymmetrical (i.e. if Celtic could recall him but we can't punt him).

I thought we worked hard today but it's clear we need to bring players in since we are down to bare bones.

A new microphone won't matter. These interviews were staged - why am I looking at a toilet door, the word "Death" in my eyeline and audio sounding like it's from Sawney Bean's cave.

I don't mind the questions so much. I do mind how poor the sound and focus are in a sit down interview. plus ca change

10+ years. It might be free but at what cost?

Exactly. The whole package just comes across as amateur hour. To be fair, the match streams have improved a lot this season in terms of frame rate but this interview just illustrates all the failings in what should be a simple setup (e.g. white balance, sound).

It's something different, something that nobody predicted. I'm in.

Yes, I agree. I have tried quite hard to find any negative comments about him online and I came up with nothing. Everyone seems to think he is a good leader and has done what has been asked of him as a coach.

Definitely positive to see that we've obviously sought out someone to fit the role and what the board think we need, rather than jumping on the usual Scottish manager merry-go-round. Certainly nobody can say the board have taken the easy or cheap option this time.
