  1. Bang on. He’s still young(ish) as well, nowhere near his potential as of yet. At this level, with the budget we have, he’s a good cover.
  2. Absolutely meaningless but nonetheless interesting stat, out of the 21 league games we’ve played this season, we’ve only been winning at HT in 4 of them. Falkirk (away), ICT (home), County (home) ,Ayr (home)
  3. GN has literally said on countless occasions that the team is built around Dobbie. Time and time again. And to be fair, I think if he could score ‘a lot more goals’ than 32 after 27 games he’d be playing English championship level still, rather than Scottish Championship.
  4. Very raw, came into the game and won most his duels. Went in for a tasty challenge with Mullin which resulted in Mullin getting a straight red, no fear at all. Has all the potential to be a class act
  5. Aye well he does have the leagues second most assists, and the most assists in our team, so aye seriously
  6. Will run for days, win the majority of headers and put himself about. Can’t remember him missing a game with an injury in his 2 and a half years here either. As said, only 1 goal in 18 league appearances this season, but 2nd top of the assist table with 8 (albeit 4 in 1 game). Think he could probably do 1 more season with us, then should be ready for the move up to be honest.
  7. Fair enough, to an extent. I would class a player who can ‘make something out of nothing’, someone that can take a shitfest of a 0-0 draw and insert some class (see Dunfermline at home, or Alloa at home when we were 3-0 down). Harkins had the chance to do so vs Dunfermline and was poor (as was the whole team to be fair). His goal against Ayr came when we were 3-0 up, on the charge and everyone was playing out their skins. It was a fantastic goal nonetheless, but wouldn’t necessarily say it was something out of nothing. Edit to add: he never turned up when we needed him, but when we were comfortably beating teams, he started playing well
  8. Harkins has undoubted quality, but hasn’t lived up to the hype. Name 1 time he made something out of nothing?
  9. We are sitting 4th in the toughest league in the country. 2nd most clean sheets in the league. 3rd most goals scored in the league. We have players like Stephen Dobbie and Gary Harkins who are, more often than not, brilliant entertainment. Have some f*****g positivity.
  10. To be fair we’ve got 22 more points than you expected us to have
  11. Would take Dobs over Shankland any time. Can see Shankland going down south (supposedly Swansea want him) but wouldn’t be surprised if he got loaned back to Ayr for the rest of the season. Nonetheless, if you want to stop him scoring just play Callum Semple at centre-half, boy has kept him quiet for 180 minutes.
  12. I understand that. Bad results deserve criticism. But the score was 0-0 until 34 minutes; and we were the better team for the opening 20! Countless times the ball went to Stirling and they were screaming abuse at him before he’d even done anything. We were bad, but we weren’t THAT bad. I’ve never heard ‘fans’ go at it for a whole 90, that is by far the worst I’ve ever heard. And I’ve seen countless worse performances than that
  13. The one thing that pissed me off from today’s match (along with the result) was certain supporters constant ridiculing of the team. Literally from the start they were personally criticising and the team. The ground was quiet and the players that were being targeted by their own supporters would have without a doubt heard it. Every time anyone even touched the ball they were at the abuse again. If you travel to Fife to support your team, the least you can do is actually support them. We didn’t okay well, GN didn’t hide that, the players didn’t hide it after the game but some of the stuff that was being said was out of order. It annoyed me, several others around me and I can guarantee the players.
  14. Todd was good today, Mercer was really good I felt though. Miles Storey on the left wing never got much against him. The first 2 goals came from Christie Eilliot down the right, while the third was just a brilliant finish. Mercer, going forward, was a threat (to an extent) as well. He gave everything. It’s amazing to see how far he’s progressed since being somewhat a liability last season.
  15. To my knowledge there are none. I’m studying Journalism at Robert Gordon in Aberdeen and would love to help but can’t commit to going to all the time due to finances. In saying that, I’ll be at Partick on Saturday and likely Inverness and Ross County away. I’d absolutely love to help out but can’t commit to every week.
  16. Nothing much happened all game. Thompson and Harvey were impressive gave Morton no chance. Murray played well but seems to give me the impression that he feels he’s too good for reserve football. Dean Watson played decent enough as well, and Leighfield was very solid. Decent performance, albeit I don’t se any knocking down the door to get in the first team, or anywhere near it for that matter.
  17. I’m at the pub quite steaming, have we actually signed someone from fckn VANCOUVER WHITECAPS?!?!?!
  18. The way we’ve been shaping up in a 4-2-3-1 suits Frizzell. He could play as any of the 3 and arguably the one up top. Todd, although naturally a winger, is getting used centrally more which suits him. Frizzell is exactly the player we needed, just a centre half now and we should be okay
  19. Frizzel seems like the exact player we need. Our first XI picks itself at the minute, but it might make Dykes/Stirling kick on, albein Stirling really has already kicked on past couple of games. If he’s fast, agile and good with the ball at his feet he’d be a top class impact sub even if he doesn’t start
  20. Would be tempted to leave Fordyce on the bench on Saturday. We’ve shipped goals last season, and 2 in each game we’ve played at this level/premiership level. As GN said, nothing to lose, try Semple and Doyle and see what happens. In saying that pretty sure we’ll end up with a 4-2-3-1, Martin; Mercer, Fordyce, Semple, Marsh; KJ, Doyle; Dykes, Harkins, Todd/Stirling; Dobbie played that against Motherwell 2nd half and looked solid, albeit created nothing
  21. I reckon we’ll see Bell, Murray, possibly Tremble all playing tomorrow night
  22. 3-5-2 makes total sense. If it means we end up playing 5 at the back at times so be it. Our defence is fragile, an extra man won’t harm things whatsoever. Essentially you’re replacing Stirling with Mercer, meaning you lose Stirling’s creativity but you still have Todd, Dykes, Dobbie and Harkins to be creative and score/assist goals. I can’t see us not scoring in many games at all this season, if we stop the flow at the other end we’ll be a threat.
  23. Ideally I’d have liked Celtic home or away, or Rangers. St. Johnstone at home is a good tie though. Decent away crowd and the potential of going through. Looking forward to welcoming Kerr, Kane and Zander back to Palmy, I’m sure they’ll get an excellent reception, which they richly deserve. Genuinely could be our 3 best loan players in the past 5 years? Joe Thomson and Dom Thomas obviously fall into that category as well, but Kerr, Clark and Kane latterly were all outstanding for us, and a perfect example of how to use the loan system effectively.
  24. Was a 4-4-2/4-4-1-1 in the first half, Lyndon dropping deeper than dobbie often. Any manager would be absolutely insane to play Harkins CDM and Doyle RAM. Was obviously a 4-4-2, and when it went 4-2-3-1, it was clear KJ and Doyle were deeper 2nd half
