Would be good to see Gibson get it. A role model for younger players, and someone who used to coach younger QoS teams. Has given plenty back to the Dumfries community -
Were we not 2 up against the league leaders at half time in January, and went on to score 2 more after the break? Literally the exact same thing that happened today
-
I doubt any manager will tell his players to sit deep if they’re winning at half time. I’d imagine most team talks would be “more of the same” rather than “sit back and defend”. At Partick, after going 1 up we barely got forward again, sat extremely deep and took the points. Sometimes you’ve just got to do it

McCrorie is a step up, yes. Brownlie has improved massively as well. Mikey Doyle? I think everyone was gutted when he left, is Lee Kilday really a step-up? Defensively, Holt and Marshall are probably similar, offensively I’d have Holt any day. Mercer is Mercer, 6-7/10 every game. I think Kidd gets a hard time of it. Wasn’t thrilled when we signed him, but he was good vs Dundee and brilliant against Thistle. Bare in mind his CM partner in these games has been the immobile Michael Paton. Probably Paton’s best game for us at Firhill since returning, and he probably our worst player! -

It’s widely accepted that Jacobs is a brilliant protector of the back 4, but lacks any real distribution. Jacobs played every league game last season (I think), and we conceding an average of 1.33 goals per league game. Without Jacobs, we’re conceding an average of 0.75 per league game. Stats would suggest that Jacobs isn’t that much of a miss. -
Abdul Osman. Any good for you? Can barely remember him tbh

Feel free to re-sign Ryan Innis before this game -

Good little listen. Dykes will be a massive reason to Dobbie not scoring as many goals this year -
Inverness v Queens

You’ve turned Todorov into a goal threat. Remarkable. ICT dark horses for the league for me, and not an easy team to beat. Would take a draw -
Queens v Morton

Didn’t make the game today, but I’ve always rated Pybus. Inexperienced, but is often found having to do the job of 2 CM’s due to his lack of capable partner. Brownlie seems like a genuinely good defender for this level now, and a leader at the back. Having been at every other game (bar Ayr), I can imagine that we were bad, but f*** me Morton must be shit -

Is that the same Osman Sow that’s on the bench for Kilmarnock today? -

Dan Armstrong and Craig Curran both free. Dundee had 2 ‘Curran’s’ playing against us in January, think Craig may have been the striker rather than the winger Jesse. Would take Dan Armstrong, tore it up in League 1 and was never given a chance at County -

On the subject of poor CM pairings, I’ll weigh in with Mark Millar and Jake Pickard being utterly useless in CM together. Pybus is a good player, but is doing the work of 2 players right now. If Lyon can get some more game time under his belt, there may or may not be a player in there. We are severely lacking in wide areas. Paton is probably one of the slowest players in the team, every other option for the wing (Oliver, Murray, Faiss, Hamilton) is far better centrally. -
Queens v Alloa
QoS_Blue1919 replied to Northfield 53's topic in Scottish Championship General Chatter
Agreed. To think we’ve won only 17 games against Alloa, compared to their 11 is nothing short of a disgrace. Sack the board. Sack AJ. -

Can’t see AJ not starting Connor Murray, our best player this season -

If he’s keeping a clean sheet while he’s “off the pace” I look forward to seeing how good he is when he’s fully fit -

Let’s just hope Jack Leighfield is fit for the Clyde game -

Another winger or 2 and that leaves us with real options going forward. If we can pull in 2 wingers on loan (or permanent) we’ll have them, Murray, El Bak, Oliver, Hamilton, Paton and of course Dobbie as our forward options. Paton isn’t a great player, but his experience can only be a good thing, especially with such a young side. -

Pleasing that we now have 2 striking options from the bench (when Dobbie is fit). Dobbie is obviously a stick on to start when fit, with either Hamilton, Oliver of El Bakh. The biggest frustration of last season for me (except the lump in goal) was our severe lack of options from the bench. Bit more pace in the team and we’ll do just fine -

Annan put three past us because we made individual errors. They weren’t pressing or forcing errors, the Queens team on the day was just very poor. If we’d have made the same errors vs Arbroath, we’d had conceded 3 as well. If we defended against Annan the way we did vs Arbroath we’d have won the game at a canter. -

4-2-3-1 these days. Funnily enough he changed things to 4-3-3 when we were losing at 3-1 Morton and we brought it back to 3-3. -
5-1 game was some game. Pretty sure we went in at half-time 1-0 down, and with Mark Durnan sent off.
