  1. Are you implying religions etc. are responsible for violent acts commited by people who claim to be acting in the name of their religion/nationality/weapon they're using/substance they're abusing/media they were inspired by/ideology? I hope not. I know why people use the old blame game here and it's really sad and pathetic. That, as an adult, they aren't mature enough to finally accept that regardless of what we do there are going to be disenfranchised people in the world who gain some sort of fulfillment from harming others is depressing.
  2. They're not even fully nude. You know there's, like, nudist families who raise their children completely nude at home and are completely nude around them growing up, right? Like, I would maybe understand that point if it's images of full intercourse or something, but Page 3 isn't even particularly sexualized at least today. It's literally just attractive girls standing with their breasts displayed. If we're going to "child-proof" newspapers, there's a shitload worse in there (particularly in written form, but also "expertly blurred" images of decapitated bodies and shit) that their innocent little eyes could be corrupted by. The only reason I remotely care is precedent (like I said I haven't looked at a newspaper for like 7 years, and there's countless nudist sites and/orporn to fill the void of whatever you seek in Page 3). It's just these hardline, oppressive elements of modern feminism sinking its claws further into society. And that's not a good thing at all. Did you know hardcore pornography is ILLEGAL in Iceland. You can literally go to prison for publishing adult pornography.. Like if these people were just happy to campaign and pressure for things to be removed I'd be fine, but they're the extremist sort who would see more laws made, people thrown in prison just to get them to live their lives they way they desire them to. It's frightening.
  3. I agree completely. I didn't get much of that stuff in school (far more in primary than secondary), but what little there was was too much. RE is it, church services and singing hymns in assembly and shit is a no-go in state schools for me. Although I did enjoy them, personally, great excuse not to be in school working and the biblical stories were always really interesting.
  4. To be fair it seems absolutely absurd that Catholic schools WOULD be funded by the state in a country like Scotland in this day and age. So maybe my assumption can be forgiven, slightly.
  5. I didn't say that. I also specifically clarified what I meant when someone previously misinterpreted it. Hold on a minute though, Catholic schools are state funded in Scotland? Is that what you're saying here? Absolutely that should be abolished then, complete separation of church and state. I thought Catholic schools were funded entirely by the Catholic Church in Scotland (or just private benefactors), if that's not the case then they shouldn't exist. Apologies for my ignorance here, btw.
  6. In what way have I been contradictory? I've got fairly comfortable stances on most issues and have for some time, often I'll make satirical/sarcastic comments that may not translate well to text (or in my toneless voice come to think of it) or may just fail to hit home as satire to people so utterly blinded by the ideology I'm mocking. But I really doubt I've genuinely contradicted myself since joining here
  7. That's just the first comparison that came to mind (as in following shady orders) being tired. Obviously not comparing the Iraq War to WW2, was going to edit the comment but wasn't sure if anyone would actually read it that way. Sadly you did.
  8. Retrospect here meaning of course: "Now that we think differently on this matter because other people have told us to think differently on this matter" Anyone here ever study history (including other cultures and from a sociological perspective) and come to that moment when you realize we just keep recyling the same bullshit over and over every few generations and calling it "progress"? One generation homosexuals are okay, the next we're burning them at the stake, the next it's imprisonment and behaviorial modification, next it's acceptance and "normalization", few generations time they'll be getting drowned in rivers again.. And people today just chart the treatment of homosexuals from an arbitrary point in history to make it look like we haven't been going in circles there, and ignoring the fact that we're doing the same shit today with groups of peoples and various paraphilias and things that have nothing to do with sexuality. For example Muslims becoming the new Jews of Europe, pogroms against Muslims here being mere decades away.. maybe they really just don't see it, it is possible I guess. I'd just really like to be at peace. I don't like being here anymore. I wish they'd come back.
  9. Right.. So a woman choosing to appear partially nude and get paid an extremely generous sum of money relative to the amount of work they've done is degrading.. As for her finding it "distasteful", that's fantastic and you're entitled to view it as such, but campaigning to have something BANNED just because you find it unappealing is borderline zealotry. Mark my words, with Sturgeon in charge it won't be long before hardcore pornography itself is illegal in Scotland. Already tried it here a few years back after it was completely banned in Iceland. I knew shit was turning (even fucking more) south the minute she announced her cabinet and her following statements about her choices.. I've not read a newspaper in about 7 years, and Page 3 isn't really my thing at all.. but clearly Sturgeon is pandering to the hardline, oppressive elements of the modern feminist agenda, which seems to be desiring to bring us back to the 1950s when it comes to sexuality.. Don't get me wrong, there's sex positive feminists out there who see this shit for what it is and hate it as much as I do, so I'm not attacking all feminists or the ideology in general. But this shit Sturgeon's dabbing in is fucking toxic, and it just keeps fucking spreading.
  10. They were just following orders, like the soldiers of the Third Reich.. You can't really blame THEM. Except like you said they did voluntarily join this war, and they were paid for it, and they wouldn't have endangered their own lives and the lives of their families by refraining from signing up to join the war. Hmm..
  11. As much as I like to laugh at all things Rangers, I don't really see what's funny about this. Is pornography suddenly taboo amongst working class football fans in Scotland or something? I don't really get why it's supposed to be embarassing. Well I get it, I just think it's kinda stupid and hypocritical. Still though I can see this truly being the final nail in the coffin for The Rangers. You can get away with severe fraud, tax evasion, cheating, whitewashing history, an ingrained vile, racist, sectarian culture amongst large minority of fans, countless acts of violence being commited in the name of the club.. but a minor sexual "scandal" involving someone loosely connected to the club for sure kill it stone dead in good old hyper repressed Britain. "The Rainjurs clearly isnae a place ah want tae take mah weans oan a Saturday anymair!" "The club jist feels wrang tae me noo. It's been tainted" Also there is absolutely nothing wrong with Catholic schools in Scotland, or any type of private/home schooling for that matter. It is not the cause of sectarianism or even a major contributing factor. There are dozens of countries around the world with Catholic and equivalent schools in addition to state education which do not have the same problems as Scotland (which are in all honesty very, very minor today). If you're going to abolish Catholic or Islamic or whatever the f**k schools because of sectarianism you may as well just ban religion altogether. It's absolutely ridiculous logic. I know we're not exactly the biggest fans of personal freedom and responsibility in Scotland, and nobody likes to scapegoat inanimate objects or drugs or ideologies or just anything that takes the blame away from the actual humans commiting whatever the undesirable act is more than us, but come the f**k on here..
  12. Sadly with many parasites the only way to destroy them is to destroy their host.
  13. Despite the fact that I'd almost certainly burst a lung upon hearing it I'd love to see The Rangers announce a player-management duo of Kenny Miller and Kris Boyd, with Durranty/McDowell as dual assisants. I can already picture Boyd on the sidelines in a stained suit bordering on obesity (within 2 weeks of being given the position) screaming and physically assaulting puzzled looking Miller and Durranty while Kenny grips his blank clipboard as if his life depends on it as The Rangers ship their 7th goal to Cheltic.
