I can confirm that no Lauriston players have been released or be playing for anyone other than us. Good luck to Daz, they’re working hard to try and put a lot of broken pieces together and I hope they do well and salvage a bit pride in the remaining games.

I’m really not that interesting a guy, it’s flattering someone takes time out their day to write about me. Wonder who I’m buying this week...

We never showed up. Decent spell after we went 1-0 down and then levelled it but just never threatened enough at the top end of the park. Eastfield are a top side and we gifted them a goals. The third was a massive deflection off the wall and that’s the goal that killed us going in 3-1 down. We are disappointed as we never showed up or competed for most of the game and at the level we were at today, we got punished for it. As for my fan commenting regarding Humey, you know as well as I do that the laddie hasn’t received a penny to come to us and made a fair personal sacrifice to be playing with us.

Let ourselves down today, felt we were the better team when we levelled it but then fell away and deservedly lost. The feeling is of disappointment because we never done ourselves justice. Eastfield haven’t had to work too hard to get their goals . At this stage of the competition against top class opposition, you have to be at your best and we were found wanting today and just never competed well enough. All the best to Eastfield.

At tonight’s meeting at Hampden, Lauriston Thistle have been warned about future conduct and fined for not having corner flags in the last round. Had Harestanes not withdrawn their protest, we are told we would have faced a replay or even being thrown out. Glad the matter is now done and dusted.

We have been cited to appear tomorrow at Hampden. I’d be surprised if we were not playing Eastfield on Saturday though.

I’ve been following this without comment... until now. I’ve got a pretty good idea I know who you are and I’m almost certain you were not at the game yesterday. I am even more certain that none of my players would say they are “worried they are going to be humiliated” It’s arguably the toughest draw of the round and it’s a hard game no matter who we do or don’t have available. We know we are up against it but will be there giving it our best shot to make the 1/4 finals.

I was surprised at the result last week so Harp will fancy it again although most people would fancy Eastfield in the replay. If they do progress, it’s probably the tie everybody privately wanted to avoid. We’ve not had it easy in the draw in any round so far that’s for sure. I’m having that game watched tomorrow so will be kept up to speed as it goes while we play.

I’ve been advised not to comment but I can’t help it when I see things that aren’t true. In their statement they have said they made Lauriston aware of a breach of the rule and that we chose not to address it, that is not true at all, not once did they tell us anything. It’s the last I’ll comment on it. Tomorrow we should know what’s happening and if the matter is closed.

2 weeks on Saturday, unless this is rushed through then I don’t think we will be up by then.

We will soon find out the answers, it’s been confirmed to us that the protest has been lodged on time and as it should be so we now await notice on when we will need to go up to Hampden.

There’s not much anyone can do or say until it’s all received by relevant parties. Our chairman should find out more details today. My own personal opinion based on a lot of stuff that has been sent to me on social media (by complete strangers backing us) is that it won’t go very far.

No letter yet, I expect that will arrive today as we should receive one from Harestanes.

Both Lewis and Kenny unable to commit to the select, happy playing Sundays. It’s not for everybody, some fancy it , some don’t, work etc The squad i first write down usually changes by 7/8.

A welcome distraction!

Haven’t a clue mate but I’m sure we would also have been informed which we weren't. Let’s see what happens as of yet we’ve heard nothing so it’s all speculation until we do, that’s if we do.

This makes no sense then, you can’t complain about one rule being broken whilst breaking another

See the rule above though mate, not allowed to do that. They would have to have at that point raise a protest as per rule 15.

Rule 15 of Scottish Amateur Cup Rules: Protests relating to ground, goalposts or other appurtenances and violation of rule, must be intimated to the referee and to the captain of the opposing team at the time the infringement takes place with such protest being made in writing on the reverse side of the teamlines, witnessed and signed by both team captains DID NOT HAPPEN

If there was a protest going in, we would have to be aware of it as our captain would be required to sign the back of the team sheet at the moment it was raised during the game.
