  1. As I’ve said, nothing is agreed or been spoken about at any length. If it does happen then we will see if you’re right though. You’re also kidding yourself if you don’t think the players at the top amateur clubs and even boys at teams like Lothian Vale who play in the lower league could not easily play in the leagues I mentioned above. There’s a reason teams at that level and above are constantly trying to sign these players.
  2. Mate I’ve said a couple times, absolutely nothing of the sort is agreed. Nobody has even spoken face to face that’s how far it’s went. There’s as good chance it may never materialise when the relevant people sit down. People putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5 at the moment.
  3. Prove what at amateur? How have I not kicked a ball either? I have played in the East of Scotland league. Also, you do know most of the boys in my team have played EoS, Juniors, Lowland and a couple have SPL appearances under their belts? I would also be willing to bet a lot of money that the top amateur teams in LEAFA would more than hold their own in the A and B conference divisions and certainly not be disgraced. Anyway, as I said above nothing has been agreed or spoken about at any great depth so there’s nothing really to speak about for now.
  4. There’s honestly nothing to talk about lads. We were asked about potentially helping out somewhere next season at a club that’s on the brink of folding. Personally I have nothing to do with anything that may or may not happen and I believe people involved are going to speak more in the coming months but nothing at all has been agreed or even spoken about at any great length. I think it’s just initial chat and exploring the possibilities.
  5. Why would I announce any plans for next season when we’ve still half a season to play? I know what you’re on about, been asked a million times but as it stands nothing has been agreed with anyone or any other club.
  6. Lauriston Th 1-4 Cambusbarron Pumped today, chose a bad day to have a day off and register our first defeat of the season. Cambusbarron are a very good side who will do well.
  7. I think a well deserved win for us and one nobody could grudge. Felt we were a bit underestimated today and while not being at our best we done what was needed. Forced to make 2 changes to the team sheet during the warm up, couldn’t be happier with what we put into the game. What a set up they’ve got at Leven and their boys were respectful and gracious in defeat.
  8. They’ve also booked East Fife’s pitch as a contingency which is a bonus.
  9. Don’t even think I’ll have to say much, always a totally different buzz around Scottish cup week. No doubt we’ve been handed a very difficult tie but i said to the boys these are the games we want. I want to see where we are at. We’ve been winning games but this is a definite step up. Looking forward to this one.
  10. Quiet today, they were brilliant form last week. Very entertaining!
  11. All the favoured teams through safely today? We had our Scottish cup replay today and our opponents still had to play their first round tie, Cavalry Park beat Edinburgh Uni 2-0 so we are away to them next week in the East.
  12. 3rd round replay Lauriston Thistle 3-0 Drongan United
  13. I can’t imagine how hard his job is dealing with every association and player, I find it hard trying to pick just from our association
  14. In my experience with our select team, I don’t think it really matters if you’re in your association select or not mate.
  15. Aye nothing we can do, we have our own thoughts but we will be ready to go next week now. I like Meadowbank, I think they’re a bit underrated and will definitely give them a game today.
  16. Our game against Drongan is off, I’m told the parks are waterlogged... So because it’s local, I’ll take in the Meadowbank game. Lothian Vale handed a hard one on paper but got to be buzzing for that to see how the stand against a top side in Shortlees.
  17. Totally agree, his issue was a back 3 as it left him very exposed as he doesn't have the luxury of pace. More solid at the back and look at the results not shipping goals. If I may offer my humble opinion. I personally think Kiddo is superb in the centre of a 3 and well suited to the role but you need the right type of players making up that 3, which would be the same with any players. His reading of the game, organisation and experience is second to none at this level. I think at Sandys they perhaps never had the right type of players to play that formation with the players available but bow they’ve found a formation that suits the players available to them a bit better.
  18. Last nights game was played like a cup final mate
  19. Aye mate none of them could make it. Asked a few. A lot of boys from various teams just didn’t fancy it, some pulled out through injury, holiday and work etc I I still plan on involving some of the ones that wanted to be involved but couldn’t make last night. Plan is a friendly Nov, Dec and Jan before the Interleague game in January.
  20. Both teams. A lot of guys there that stepped in late that we hadn’t seen before so it was good for us to get a look at them. A large number of players invited couldn’t make it which is why some names you may expect to see aren’t there but few of these boys have done themselves no harm. Very good game and highly competitive! Hoping to arrange a friendly next month.
  21. Deek Riordan scored a few unreal goals for us at St Bernard’s, that was some profile to get playing amateur.
  22. Just going to my bed mate, I’ll fire down a list tomorrow. A lot of the guys filled in at late notice due to players becoming unavailable for various reasons.
  23. LEAFA select trial tonight, entertaining game played like a cup final with some meaty tackles going in! Blue team win the game 4-3. Had a quite mental number of call offs in the last week or two with a lot of players unable to make it and a lot of boys answering late calls to come along. Goals for blue - Wayne Macintosh x2, Dayne Robertson, OG Goals for red - Luke Leiper, Ean Gilhooley, Andy Crichton
