  1. Yes. Originally from the outskirts of Edinburgh I have lived in the centre of Edinburgh, Paisley, Greenock and now Dundonald. My accent has adapted to wherever I have lived. I have no idea what my accent actually is now. Apparently people know when I have spoken to my mother on the phone (she still lives near Edinburgh) as my accent totally changes and reverts back to very very east coast.
  2. I was quite lucky. When I was doing my training I stayed in the Florence Nightingale nurses home in Edinburgh, basically a room with shared toilets, etc. There were loads of us was probably not dissimilar to Uni halls. When I qualified it was 3 bedroom flats whereby you had your own room, shared living room, kitchen and bathroom. They were actually not too bad as you put all your own stuff in them and could make them quite homely. If you get good flatmates then at times you are never in
  3. I think it was about £50 a week however that was going back a fair few years. When I say few, I mean 10!!!
  4. It's usually quite cheap though and often comes straight off your wages so you don't even notice it as an outgoing. Or it used to be.
  5. I'm looking for the thread about coffee machines that was on here a while back - not The coffee thread though. I can't remember who started it or what it was called. Anyone remember? Or I need a new coffee machine but I don't want an all singing/dancing one. The one I had was a thermal one which kept the coffee piping hot however the replacement is crap. Anyone recommend a machine that keeps the coffee really really hot.
  6. I didn't go either but then I was a midwife at the time. I think the classes have there uses, however a lot of the time it depends on the midwife taking them. If it's your first and you feel you know nothing of what to expect then it will be useful for you. They usually include a visit to the labour ward which on first look can be a bit daunting therefore seeing it prior to labour makes it a lot less scary.
  7. Congratulations You think you're tired now You have no idea.
  8. I would like to know this too as I hadn't had the chance to read it yet.
  9. Only you wouldn't have them both out at the same time, would you?
  10. Aye. Nae garlic bread left though.
  11. Well, I was off sick today Philpy and I've been on facebook so I'll be caught too. I had to come home from work on Monday so it's not like they don't know that I have laryngitis. I'm going back to work tomorrow as although my voice is knacked I don't actually feel unwell so I feel that I'm somewhat swinging the lead. That may well be the wrong move, only time will tell. However, last week I was really unwell with flu and I just slept round the clock for 3 days and barely went near facebook.
  12. God you were quick, you got that before the edit. Aye, a bit premature Pheonix, eh?
  13. Aye. He's wearing age 11 or 12 clothes and he's just turned 10.
