  1. Right, some articles that I can link to may be subscriber content only, so I'll stick one up first of all and see if it works. If not, let me know and I'll find another way.

First one is actually an article regarding potty training in kids with learning disabilities, but don't let that put you off if your child doesn't have LDs, there's some useful tips there for all parents. Clicky.

You can read that ok. I did have to log out of NT and then re-check though

  2. I don't think Lothian Buses go to Kirkliston (could be wrong though). First Bus number 38 goes there, don't know how much though.

Correct. Lothian buses don't go out to Kirkliston which has long been a bone of contention with folk that live out there. There was an article which was talking about fares going up. I actually think the kirkliston/south queensferrry one was just shy of a fiver but I'm unsure if that's a return or single fare.

  3. Any physio's on here?

My cast was removed today from my broken ankle. I'm allowed to partially weightbear and doctor suggested boots that gave support to the ankle. I'm having trouble finding any that my still swollen foot would get into with any ease. I wondered if anyone/physio could suggest something suitable.

    Thanks

  4. I'm back to work tomorrow and am delighted to report that the potty training has been a complete success. He's dry all day and after some initial bother with poo, he's no bother at all now! Woohoo! I just packed away his cloth nappies for the next time. :D

We decided to start Charlie off when he really seemed like he wanted to do it. Up until recently, he didn't want to know, so we left it. It was starting to look like we might have to wait until after the new baby was born and he'd had chance to get used to it, but he was so keen that there was no point waiting. A fortnight ago, he wasn't interested in pants or potties at all. The last two mornings however, he's woken up with dry nappies and takes them off and goes for his potty as soon as he gets up and I can't remember the last time he had an accident that wasn't down to his poor aim!

    Well done boys :D

  5. Hello,

A wee question for the nursey/doctory types on here.

My girlfriend broke her wrist around two weeks ago, and the last few days her fingers look a bit swollen and are sore to move, should we be looking at a trip to A&E or wait for a GP appointment on Monday?

    Cheers.

Does she have a cast on? I would give the hospital a call tbh. If they are different and more painful than before I would want them checked over. I've got a cast on my ankle at the minute and instructions issued were any pain, swelling, discolouration, tightness, etc then advice should be sought.
