  1. Does Bobby Mann play for you? Still get flashbacks to that occasionally.
  2. Duly fixed. Erich Schaedler started the game instead of Tommy Coyle.
  3. August 2008 is the answer. League games against Montrose and Elgin with a league cup game against Annan in between. I've looked back to 1986 so far and found nine instances of us drawing three or more consecutive matches. I'm going to keep looking but not until this evening as it's easier to look at the results at the back of Jim McAllister's book than trawl a website page by page. Cheers for letting me know. I'll check and amend tonight. As ever, if anyone notices anything that isn't right on the archive, please let me know. I want it to be accurate so I won't take offence at mistakes being pointed out.
  4. Not sure but I'll have a look and post my findings tomorrow. Although I do know the last time we drew three consecutive matches was in February 2017 and all ended 2-2. And the most consecutive draws is just four which was early 1999.
  5. Normal for gloryhunters. There'll be some amount of folk that have never been to any football match that gloat about a team winning.
  6. Finlay Gray would be the first on the team sheet for me. I'd agree with Oki about bringing Lynas in and moving Carlo into midfield. I'm not sure who else would be there but I'd be dropping MacLean. And while a few are talking about Farrell, his programme notes are fantastic. When I read them, the first thing that took me aback was his view that we could have another successful season in paragraph one. With the word another doing an enormous amount if lifting. And the column didn't get much better with Airdrie sweeping everyone away last season on their way to a 3rd place finish.
  7. Malcolm and Orsi are back in contention but Wallace is still on his honeymoon so misses out with Byrne and C.Wilson. https://dumbartonfootballclub.com/match-preview-dumbarton-vs-spartans/
  8. I'll wear my high heels. Excellent on both points.
  9. The most important question for this game is, does the bowling club allow non members in? And a lesser question is do they take card payments?
  10. That is exactly what I was just thinking. The last time we had a chairman talking to and answering questions was pre covid. John Steele was the chairman and Brabco were the majority shareholders. A lot has changed since 2019 and a meeting is needed.
  11. The new guy will be gone by this time next year. Rinse and repeat.
  12. Well done to @Beachcomber, @skiblue, @Connor7, @son hawk, @Rock Hudson and @ScottishLoon for correctly predicting a draw.
  13. I've always thought it odd that the Raith interchange is nowhere near Kirkcaldy.
  14. No Malcom(suspended), C Wilson, Orsi, Byrne(injured) and R Wallace (honeymoon) tomorrow but there could be someone new https://dumbartonfootballclub.com/match-preview-bonnyrigg-rose-vs-dumbarton/
  15. He scored a hat-trick that night and lost
  16. We've had seven games in total that have produced 12 or more goals. Cartvale (h) 11-2 18/2/1882 Kirkintilloch Central (h) 13-1 1/9/88 Albion Rovers (a) 1-11 30/1/1926 Forfar Athletic (a) 6-6 2/1/39 Ayr United (a) 1-11 13/8/52 Motherwell (a) 6-6 10/4/54 Stranraer (h) 10-3 24/8/57. This century the highest number of goals in a game is nine which has happened on three occasions. Stirling Albion (a) 5-4 19/9/01 Ayr United (h) 4-5 15/4/06 Hibernian (h) 3-6 22/11/14.
  17. April 1954. The other 12 goal thriller around that time was an 11-1 defeat to Ayr United in 1952.
  18. I've not had a chance to properly look but we had a 10-3 win against Stranraer in 1957.

  20. Another season gets underway next Saturday with last season's runner up visiting New Dundas Park in the opener. Dumbarton will be aiming to start with a win for the 3rd consecutive year for the first time in 24 years. Discuss.
  21. This season's prices are Bonnyrigg £14/9/5 Clyde £17/14/5 East Fife £18/14/5 Elgin £14/8/- Forfar £14/8/5 Peterhead £15/8/0 Stenhousemuir £15/10/5 Stranraer £15/10/5 The Spartans £15/10/5.
  22. There are 1981375 B shares in the club. Cognitive capital own 75.65% of those. There are 10 shareholders that have 10k or more shares which totals 21.49%. The Trust are one of those with 2.95% with the others mostly made up of former directors from the past 30 years or so. That was my Saturday morning.
