After seeing pics of Andy Robertson and Harry Kane at the venue of the first international match, I thought I'd venture along for a wee look since I'm in the vicinity.

Andy has captained us 43 times and will equal George Young's record of 48 if he plays in all our remaining games this year.

It was indeed. I think it kicked off around 1pm. I started my sickie at lunchtime on the Monday. I knew if I'd woken up "ill" on matchday, my Dad would've seen right through me. And he actually visited as it was kicking off. He clearly used me being in hospital to get off work, the crafty bugger.

My view is that it's important for us and him that he plays for the country he really wants to play for. If he's only realised after training with us then that's got to be good for both parties. We don't want a player who doesn't care enough to play for Scotland and he'll be happier if he's playing for someone else. It reminds me of Stuart McCall delaying his sub appearance for England u-21 because it took until then for him to realise he only wanted to play for Scotland.

My sympathy is limited as you probably chose to get married during the fitba season.

No. The week leading up to our opening Euro2020 game was the slowest week ever.

I've looked back to 1986 so far and found nine instances of us drawing three or more consecutive matches. I'm going to keep looking but not until this evening as it's easier to look at the results at the back of Jim McAllister's book than trawl a website page by page. Cheers for letting me know. Not sure but I'll have a look and post my findings tomorrow. Although I do know the last time we drew three consecutive matches was in February 2017 and all ended 2-2. And the most consecutive draws is just four which was early 1999.

Normal for gloryhunters. There'll be some amount of folk that have never been to any football match that gloat about a team winning.

Finlay Gray would be the first on the team sheet for me. I'd agree with Oki about bringing Lynas in and moving Carlo into midfield. I'm not sure who else would be there but I'd be dropping MacLean. And while a few are talking about Farrell, his programme notes are fantastic. When I read them, the first thing that took me aback was his view that we could have another successful season in paragraph one. With the word another doing an enormous amount if lifting. And the column didn't get much better with Airdrie sweeping everyone away last season on their way to a 3rd place finish.

The most important question for this game is, does the bowling club allow non members in? And a lesser question is do they take card payments?

That is exactly what I was just thinking. The last time we had a chairman talking to and answering questions was pre covid. John Steele was the chairman and Brabco were the majority shareholders. A lot has changed since 2019 and a meeting is needed.
