There are some decent players in the Juniors, not sure why it's a laughable question. East Fife for example have just signed Mark Lamont from there, in the first two league games for East Fife he set up three goals and scored twice. That's a level below us but I don't think people should be scoffing at the suggestion.
Lamont's nowhere near championship level0 -
Unless we want to say Hippo and Sibbs are midfielders to be fair. A lot of that is to do with how Houston is sending them out to play. Both Hippo and Sibbs are more than capable of making things happen in final 3rd. The main problem is Rankrotten Taiwo and Kerr are all very similar - slowish, good in tackle, keep it simple, retain posession types. Kerr has far better passing and ability to unlock more advanced players with a killer pass that the others don't. Craigen is lost at the moment, he hasn't been good enough being played wide or through the middle.
Agreed mate. I meant more the out and out CM's.0 -
A pish poor performance yesterday with a midfield bereft of ideas, width, pace and creativity...oh and height and strength. Why oh why did we sign Rankine..too similar to what we already have. Both center halfs were weak also. For me Bairds is done as a Bairns player. His record at any club shows he's a one season wonder then tails off then moves on. The BOD are at the root of the problem but Houston isn't blameless with uninspiring signings and seems to go for the safe option when approaching games. Need a win soon to install some confidence on and off the park.
Absolutely right about the midfield. Full of players who are too similar. No one as able to get beyond the strikers from the middle of the park.0 -
Spoke wi an ITK 2 years ago just after Kingsley left.
He said their was 3 - 4 year lean period coming up but the boys who were 13 - 14 then were very good.
He pointed at 1 kid and said he was the best he had seen at that age.
2 Scotland under 17's and 1 Scotland under 19 player in the youth team at the moment. Not too shabby imo.0 -
He played in the game against Swansea and was brutal. Yes it's only a friendly but he needs to be a stand out in these games to force himself back into the team.

Was Biabi playing for Swansea?
Came on in the 2nd half0 -
Some promising youngsters but I can't say anyone looked ready for a start in the first team. Hipployte needs to get his finger out or he'll be playing at this level on a consistent basis this season.
Agreed, I thought he was very poor. Needs to shine in these games friendly or not.0 -
Disagree with this. Under normal circumstances I'd agree but I think the team's achievements last season did warrant that appreciation. The supporters were excellent that day - even though the team weren't.
Christ, I just remembered how bad we were that day. Total shite.
Agreed it was more recognition of the season as a whole.0 -
A post this morning on here saying he is doing his medical down south.
May actually be pish mind you.
It's 100% correct unfortunately0 -
Baird has been poor for a long time. We can all see that. But at Stirling last week some of the fans were on his back from his first mistake

You mean his goals against mid-table and teams and below? Baird'a a trier but simply not good enough to get us to where we want to be. I'd hold onto him as a squad player and if he can't accept that then he should be sent on his way.
A goals a goal. 3 points for beating sevco 3 for beating Alloa0 -
Well he needs to start acting like a professional and realise that he gets paid to do a job , and realise if you're not on form and someone else is that you get dropped.
Short memory.
Aye bairds been very poor recently but if it wasn't for his goals last season we would have been nowhere near a play off.
We should get behind him imo0 -
Honestly the attempts at trolling by the hibs mob's wasting a decent site

Everyone is Scottish football is for sale. I wouldn't read too much into that.
Obviously. But it's clear negotiations are on-going.0 -
I think the telling thing is that the club have said the bid didn't meet their valuation, not that he isn't for sale.
He won't play for us again imo0 -
Was at the Stirling uni game last night, basically a development team with a couple of the new signings and Rodgers in goal. Austin scored and I thought Henderson looked good, maybe not the strongest opposition we'll face this season but looks like we have a squad this season, allows players with small niggles to be rested and Houston to freshen the team occasionally. I felt (despite some good results including in the playoffs) the team were running on empty for the last month or so of the season.
We look stronger this season but time will tell COYB!
Any of the young players stand out ?0 -
I remember the days when replying to a post was just that. God I miss the early days of this forum....
Well said mate. Juvenile stuff on here the majority of the time0 -
Our last financial results were a £1.2 million profit.
Tick tock.
But...but..but we're on the way out.0 -
It's gonna be a long season reading this hibs pish again

I was standing behind Deniz for the second half of todays game and he pulled off two cracking saves and generally was giving good shouts. there was a couple of minutes shels had a bit of pressure in our box but Deniz seemed to see everything coming and was talking to the defence the whole time.
maybe he just talks a lot but coming away from that with a bit of confidence in him.
Good stuff. How did the younger lads play. Are they ready to push on this season ?

I don't think he will take a gamble on a young laddie. Especially if it's true that he has money to spend. My heart says he will be back but my head is saying he will be loaned to a Premiership side.
True, but rodgers did say he would be looking to promote youth. However, he's got another 17 midf to choose from.
I would agree if he is loaned it would be to a premier side.

I think Henderson will be given a chance by Rodgers at Celtic next season can't see him being loaned again
