    n a game that was far from short of controversy both sides finished up with a share of the points and 10 men. It was a match that was unfortunately spoiled by refereeing decisions that left both benches rather disillusioned and feeling aggrieved. After a solid start the Bairns fell behind with Kevin O’Hara restoring parity before Trialist A fired Alan Maybury’s men in front. Stephen Miller then produced a fantastic long range strike to equalise for the home side with an end to end battle ensuing thereafter. In the end both sides had to settle for a point with Falkirk heading back down the A9 buoyed by a strong performance.

    Both sides struggled to get a foot hold in the game with chances at a minimum in the opening stages. It was the home side though who had the first opportunity of the afternoon. Tony Dingwall broke forward before being taken down by Alan Maybury on the edge of the box, the ball was lined up perfectly for the youngster who could only send an effort well over the bar.

    Taylor Evans had the first chance for the Bairns as he latched onto a freekick in the box, however the ball just wouldn’t fall kindly and in the end his scuffed effort went wide of the target. Kevin O’Hara was, as usual, looking lively for Falkirk up top and he did well, with around 10 minutes played, to beat his man and whip a dangerous ball into the box, however there was no one in the white of Falkirk able to knock it home.

    The tide then began to turn with Stephen Miller crashing Darren Moffat’s cut back off the post before, just seconds later, the latter gave County the lead. The midfielder latched onto a ball over the Bairns’ defence before tucking under Lewis McMinn.

    The Bairns were quickly level with KEVIN O’HARA bursting clear on the left before rifling an effort past Mark Foden. It was a fine finish from the striker who took his Development League tally for the season to 13.

    The first of the dubious decisions came just prior to half time with Kevin O’Hara clearly hauled back as he advanced on goal, however the referee was unmoved. O’Hara was then booked for his protests, something that would later come back to haunt the striker.

    HALF TIME: ROSS COUNTY 1-1 FALKIRK

    The second half got off to a quick fire start with County reduced to ten men just minutes after the break. Trialist A broke clear for the Bairns before being tugged back by James Ross and with the help of the Assistant Referee he was duly ordered off.

    Lewis McMinn was called into action to gather Greg Morrison’s header in County’s only chance during a period of Falkirk domination. With the extra man Alan Maybury’s men always looked more likely and took the lead with half an hour play. Taylor Evans chipped a good ball over the top of the County defence which TRIALIST A took hold off before setting himself and firing into the back of the net.

    Cameron Blues was next to have a srtrike at goal when he sent an effort from 25 yards wide of the target. A neat set piece move from Reis Peggie followed shortly after with Kevin O’Hara inches away from making it 3-1.

    County couldn’t be counted out either with Greg Morrison coming close with a couple of headers which went just wide and over respectively. Falkirk always looked dangerous on the break and continued to push for a killer third goal. It was in search of that third goal that the referee produced a bizarre decision to send Kevin O’Hara off for simulation. The striker attempted to take the ball past Mark Fodden before appearing to be tripped, play continued with Langton hitting a shot towards goal before the referee called play back to give the striker his second yellow card and order him off.

    The sending off gave County confidence to try and push and get a goal in the final ten minutes. They spilled forward in numbers looking to pressurise the Bairns’ defence and they got their reward with five minutes to play. STEPHEN MILLER advanced forward from right back before hitting an unstoppable strike into the back of the net from 25 yards out.

    In the final seconds the game toed and froed from end to end, but neither side managed to find a winner despite their efforts.
