We beat Raith a couple of times during his first spell there, I remember Chris Fahey gifting us a couple of goals in a play-off semi up at Kirkcaldy before we went on to lose yet another final. Our record against his second Raith team was one draw and five defeats, four of which were 1-0. McGlynn does give me the fear, he absolutely has it in him to shitfest a 1-0 win with us missing loads of chances. I think we'll have more of the ball and if our forward players click then we should score, but whether they're able to break down a stubborn Falkirk defence enough and also not do anything daft at the other end is a different question.

Winning and going five points ahead of Falkirk early on would be nice but as we saw last season, it doesn't count for much at this stage. I think Falkirk went six points ahead of us after the 2-1 game last season where Cones was jumping about as if they'd won the league and fans were saying they were playing like Barcelona, so I won't get too carried away either way. I'm looking forward to the game though, should be a good marker for both teams.

Paul Sheerin doing the ronny roar and pumping his chest after a 2-1 win in August really came back to haunt him.

  2. On yesterday first half thought we were really impressive created a lot and easily could’ve been 4/5 at half time, gutted gabby never got a goal yesterday. Still room for improvement tho thought the boy wylie struggled couldn’t get into the game at all, Euan deveany had a better game but still would like another left back in. Defence pretty solid, watson n dycey cleared up everything really, peterhead gonna have a long season in front of them by the looks of it.

I know it’s early days but going by other results and league cup campaigns I don’t think anyone gonna run away with this league, personally I wouldn’t fear Anyone a win against Falkirk next week would be a big statement. Hopefully another couple of bodies in this week before then, onwards and upwards.♦️♦️

What should be the starting 11 for tomorrow then? for me -
    Rae (if fit)
    Ballantyne Watson Dycey Deveany
    Frizz McCabe Devenny
    Jamieson Gal Smith

I think we might line up 343 with McCabe dropping to centre back, only different for me is I dont think Gabby should be dropped, especially with his 3 assists in 4 games. I'm a massive fan of Callum Smith, but in the league Cup games his finishing has been atrocious and don't think he's been good enough, I'd drop him for Jamieson.

Yeah don't disagree, i just feel sometimes Gabby could be better coming off the bench, regardless i'd quite like to see Jamieson start.

I'm not a fan of the 3 at the back i feel McCabe much more effective in the holding midfielder role. Deveany at wing back not for me either, final ball so far hasn't been up to standard.

How many do we actually have on board for Saturday if we take Salim out as he’s still injured?

I think we’ve all been plenty patient, but I really would expect to have seen a few more by now…

Only got 12 and that's including Hutton and he wasn't involved at the weekend there so might only have 11!! Need 3 or 4 signed at least before Sat.

Last season we had Easton, Agnew, McCabe, Frizzell, McInroy, McDonald, McGill, Ritchie and Devenny (and Rhys Caves if you want to be pedantic) all as options at centre mid in the squad at one point or another. So there will surely be scope to bring in at least a couple more midfielders. Of the right quality of course. No idea what truth there is in it but I've seen the Owen Moffat rumours starting again. Will presumably be signing the same day as the West Ham striker!

Would be happy with Moffat signing, surely we've got to be looking at bringing Kyle Turner in to replace Easton not an automatic starter at thistle pretty sure he'd be happy to come back.

I liked Paul McKay but I'd never have had him as a Championship player or even one of League 1's better players. If he's reached that sort of level good on him. His brother Jack is a dumplin' but I can't dislike him after that play-off semi-final goal v Cove.

Yeah agreed thought he looked out of his depth when he was centre mid and right back, moved him centre half in a back 3 n looked more comfortable probably because he has more cover about him.
