I see Eskisehirspor are currently in the 5th tier of Turkish football now.

So in the ~12 years since we met in Europe they've been relegated 4 times, had 13+ managers, and not been allowed to sign anyone for 3-4 years due to their debts forcing a transfer embargo.

Their fans also burned their stadium to the ground.

Honestly it's nice to keep the "partnership" going simply to remind us how much worse things could get.

Was there ever anything formal other than Boards hosting each other, and us having a black and red away kit, with Eskispor?

Not seen a thread yet for it?

Honestly the level of enthusiasm within our support, and the level of excitement playing us elicits in opposition fans,  I’d not be surprised if we end up with a match thread being started after a match at some point this season.

One thing that will potentially be interesting is what is actually sold. Would you buy a football club without the 20-odd acre footprint it sits in? Who owns the site, Geoff Brown or the football club?

I find it quite interesting that the size of land keeps getting used as a negative in the Courier. there was an interview years ago with SBrown where he complained about having to clear the whole site when it was snowy/icy, but I’d have thought generally it’s a boon. However, I suspect there is scope that the rumoured Oudenarde ground and the spinning the land as a negative are gonna result in the browns swapping the McDairmid land for land at Oudenarde, and getting the new owners to build the bridge(s) that Geoff has refused to build at Oudenarde, which has stopped the village getting built.

He was absolutely shite for us, lets not start rewriting history.

Things would maybe have turned out differently but he'd been playing regularly for Motherwell until Christmas this year and only scored twice.

Fair fucks for the form since, but aye, it  wasnt a bad decision to let him go.

It’s not rewriting history when pretty much everyone could see how poorly he was being managed.

Just further evidence to how fucking awful the previous management teams were.

There was a discussion about developing youth players on Sunday's show

Not once were the B teams in the Lowland League mentioned. This does not surprise me given your average Scottish football commentator's ignorance of anything outside the Cheeks but it led me to wonder wtf are the two B teams doing stinking out the LL if it's not for youth development

    Three*

Presumably carries over? I don’t think player contracts have much to do with it, unless it expires and the player leaves for free, of course.

Price of Football podcast covered this a few weeks ago. Concensus seems to be it depends transfer to transfer, but if you’ve got decent negotiators at the selling club you’d push to make sure they are for length of time the player is at club not length of contract.
