Some shite being written on here by folk not having the guts to say it like it is.
Benburb are an absolute horrendous team to watch and every time I have had the misfortune to have to watch them it's been route one long baw Football
Will they go up ? maybe would I pay to watch that brand of football if not against the team I follow ? NO

You really are quite a conceited chap aren't you.   Everyone else is wrong and you are correct in your opinion.  Nothing about having guts but plenty of saying it as it is. We have played the Bens twice this season albeit very early. We beat them 5-3 in the sectional and everyone was impressed with their football a couple of weeks later we faced them in the league and again they were excellent as the beat us. If they play the long ball against the Candy its probably because they think you have a weakness.

Looking forward to our visit on Saturday  which is a very tough game for us. Hope our football is pleasing on your eyes , if not , tough shite.

Still welcoming the chase, big game this weekend.

Hope Rutherglen have their necks fully massaged in preperation for watching all that long ball stuff from the leagues top scorers

Thats a wee bit unfair.  Almost to a man, posters have been praising Benburb.  Only one person has accused the Bens of being a long ball team that i know of.

They will go up a far better side than the top two imo
Great footballing side and two of the best wingers in the league

Funny how opinions vary.  I can only speak from what I have seen in our one off games and  Benburb, Glencairn and Cumbernauld  looked better against us than Rossvale.  I accept you may have seen all theses teams more than i have this season but from what I have seen these 3 are the best in the league.

  4. I believe Benburb deserve tremendous credit for where they are today. Nearly halfway through the league campaign and they are up there leading the pack.   As i've said before they may implode but teams are going to have to step their game up to take anything from them.  I know one poster in particular doesn't like their style of play but most teams would be delighted to be where they are at the moment.

The Bens are top of the league, pip pip.

Excellent performance yesterday, a solid defence that broke quickly and easily picked off a lumbering Cumbernauld defence. I see the United twitter saying that the pelanty was on the dubious side, not sure why when it was as clear a foul as you'll see all season - badly timed effort from the centre half that took the feet away of the attacker.

    We welcome the chase ;)

A couple of weeks ago i said i thought Cumbernauld would win the league and then you lot go and pump them !!  Great stuff from the Bens.   A few people are waiting for them to implode but they just keep rolling along.  Paul Lovering is a lunatic on the sidelines but he has had his team up for every challenge so far this season.   New Tinto park is a fortress but they are also doing the business away from home.   I don't want to jinx them but i think they are a certainty to go up.

    3 tough games
Cumbernauld face anti football ( Messi's description not mine ) benburb in a clash of styles but hopefully Cumbernauld can play there way to a 2-1 victory
I think Rossvale will beat Arthurlie with a couple to spare 3-1
St Rochs in good form going into this so 2-1

Are you saying that Messi has watched the Bens?   :)

  7. Arthurlie competed well today against Cumbernauld but came up against a very good outfit. Having seen nearly every team in the league i think Cumbernauld are the best we have faced. Nice movement , a solid backline, speed and aggression in the right areas.  A very poor decision from the ref today to send off Mushett for a second yellow where the Cumbernauld lad obviously dived but no complaints about the result.  In my opinion Cumbernauld will go on and win the league.  Arthurlie comfortably mid table but thats as good as it will get this season.

This sums you up, no class, no other manager would have reacted in this way, but you’re that arrogant that you can’t take it.

You throw the gauntlet down to the guy, he accepts, and he has no class?. You need to explain that one.   You are a laughing stock and charity is the loser. Bluff called on keyboard warrior methinks.

Along as Arthurlie score 1 more than cumbernauld ill be happy

If we can cut out the daft mistakes at the back we could win this one.   We have improved since this game was first scheduled. If we had played Cumbernauld back then im sure they would have beaten us.  If we are to win we really need to up our performance. Although we have won quite a few league games in a row, we haven't faced any of the stronger teams in that run.

    I don't ask for predictions.

Ok. So you ask for peoples thoughts.  More or less the same thing as you list the games.

As I pointed out a few pages back, a bit of humility from DL would have gone down well. But, every other team is pish, especially Rossvale, St Roch's & Whitletts... However The Roch have won 3 games, Whitletts 4, and Rossvale are still undefeated after 6.

I agree he could possibly have given other teams a wee bit of credit.

  13. I don't understand the apparent hatred of Darvel.  Is it all because of Darvel Legend?   The guy is obviously very passionate about his team and wears his heart on his sleeve.  Not too long ago Kirkintilloch Rob Roy received the same kind of treatment because  of Robroyguy.  He stopped posting on here and the abuse towards his club has all but disappeared but like school bullies everyone has moved on to their next victim.

Darvel are struggling and people are happy to put the boot in.  From what i saw at our recent game with them, they are a decent bunch, who supported their team for the full 90 minutes.  They deserve better results than what they have been getting and it will happen eventually.   Darvel Legend never hides when his team is beaten ,unlike others on here .   He has taken the mantle of best wind up merchant from Robroyguy.  You all love the guy really.

What's your perception of my club, Irvine Vic's? We play in tangerine, orange if you're that way inclined, and have a sash on our strip. Last season we had a big feck off Rangers badge on our strips due to the sponsor owning the Louden Tavern. Do we subscribe to this"loyalist ayrshire pish?" That would be a big fat NO! Keep the sectarian crap out of the Juniors. Everyone knows about the roots of the Candy, so what. They have earned the right to play at our level, they've worked hard on and off the park to represent their local community and sustain what they are doing. I for one want to see them celebrate their centenary in style, with acknowledgement from across the Juniors

    Great post mate.

  15. Shame the manager has walked but to be fair his players have let him down big time. Arthurlie are no great shakes but totally outplayed Darvel at times today.  If it hadn't been for some weird decisions the score could have been very embarrassing for Darvel. Credit to their fans, very vociferous and the best support i have seen at Dunterlie for a long time.   I spoke to a few of them after the game and they were very honest in their assessment of the game.  Great result for Arthurlie.

    Lie 1-1 neilston

farmers wernt at the races today but still left with another away point

    1st half was all arthurlie

2nd half we came out fighting and controlled   It had few half chances for the win  also denied a stonewall pen but that’s fitba

still unbeaten on the road so far which goes long way to making sure we are still in this league nxt season

Pretty fair assessment in my opinion. Watching the 1st half i was confident Arthurlie would go on and win by a couple of goals to spare. 2nd half Neilston pinned us back for long periods and looked like the team most likely to score a winner. I thought it was a very good game . A point apiece was the correct outcome.
