You must agree that there is a lot of negative posts from more than a few posters. Seems more to me than just banter.Absolutely but i still stand by what i said. If DL wasn't doing what he does best there wouldn't be nearly the same amount of abuse towards Darvel as a club.

This crops up every now and again. I don't think Darvel are hated as a club. They have a couple of fans who like to shout their mouths off and other fans like nothing better than them to fall flat on their face. Very much like Kirkintilloch Rob Roy were the targets because of one guy who came on and annoyed f**k out of everyone. He has disappeared and so has the abuse.
I have no problem with Darvel , they are a decent bunch .

Arthurlie also do a food bank collection. Great idea and one that every club should consider. Well done on bringing this topic up.

Really sorry to hear this news. A lovely big guy. A sad loss to everyone who knew him. Condolences to his family. R.I.P. Alex.

I usually like Clydebanks strips but i don't like this one. I don't normally like Talbot's but this season's is pretty special. So far my favourite is the St. Rochs home shirt.

Hope they don't move to the place suggested - that would be a terrible move.
I agree mate . I believe if ever there was to be a vote on this it would be for the season ticket holders to decide. A good reason to buy one possibly, just in case.

Maybe the bigger corncern is the rumour of a fall out within the ranks with fans due to arthurlie possibly selling dunterlie and moving ...was told lot of fans are still asking where the money went from selling of the old ref ash behind shed
what’s the latest on that boys ? Hit her say or wat
Not heard too much about that to be fair.. As I've said before, Neilston fans seem to know more about our business than we do. The only thing i heard was one old guy was stirring shite about us trying to sell off Dunterlie.

I suppose it's not so easy for some older committees where nobody is really up to speed with social media. I do our registering / releasing of players and our official twitter so keeping the troops up to date with all the comings and goings is no problem. Been a busy pre-season so far with 8 signings!
We have a young guy on our committee and his specific function is to work on the media side. He does heehaw. Waste of a club tie to be perfectly honest.

Bad news when Arthurlie fans learn of our signings from a Neilston fan. Thanks for the info harvester.

Tbf you had a good side last season so maybe you only need to add s couple of new Signings
Did anyone of your first team move satori ?I think apart from Del McNab, James Marks and Hal Bohme we have more or less the same boys mate. I agree we did well last season but still need better quality if we are going to figure in any title race.

I see nobody is predicting top 3 or bottom 3 for Arthurlie. To be fair that will do for me. The lack of transfer activity up Barrhead way is getting comical. As i understand it, we have signed a keeper, a centre back on a free and a boy from under 21s. Not showing much ambition if you ask me. Season of struggle ahead for the long suffering Dunterlie faithful?

I think New Tinto Park will help the Bens to survive. They very rarely lose at home. I know some people said they were a long ball team but in the 2 and a half games we played them, they were as good as any others we faced. Some cracking players. I hope they can stay up and i'm sure they will.

Just because football can't function without them doesn't mean that we should accept behaviour from referees that we wouldn't tolerate from others.
I couldn't agree more. The guy was totally inept at his job. Some of the decisions he gave against Arthurlie had to be seen to be believed.
I'm sure lots of clubs and players will be delighted with his departure.

Time will tell. Maybe the system Rossvale play will suit..
Absolutely mate and i really hope he does well but i think he found his level last season.

Everybody knows by now that McNab is away to Rossvale. Wanted more money than Arthurlie were prepared to pay. Presumably Rossvale stumped up what he was looking for. For what its worth , i do think he will struggle in the top league.

Presumably it would have been like the rules for a penalty awarded right before full-time, so in that case it would be a goal.
"When additional time is allowed, the penalty kick is completed when, after the kick has been taken, the ball stops moving, goes out of play, is played by any player (including the kicker) other than the defending goalkeeper, or the referee stops play for an offence by the kicker or the kicker’s team."
You would think so mate but if i remember the proposal stated if the keeper stopped the ball or it struck woodwork the ball would be deemed dead and would result in a goal kick. I just remember at the time thinking it was crazy.

I thought I had read about another penalty rule change. If the penalty is saved and goes out for a corner then the game restarts with a corner as normal. However if the penalty hits the post or is saved and comes back into play the game is stopped and restarted with a goal kick. Did I make that up ?
I also heard of this mate but not sure if it was just a proposed change or has actually been implemented. I remember at the time wondering what would happen if the ball struck woodwork then hit the keeper and went in.

Not a chance Arthurlie will win the league unless they have signed quality players they have yet to be announcedHenrik i agree with you. Need to improve the quality of player from last season in some positions. Signed a real prospect in young Urquart and if he can hit the ground running as did Lee Roulston last season he will be a real asset. We have some real young talent in our ranks and signing players with a bit more experience will help. Hearing Del McNab is signing for Rossvale, . He was one of the better players last season but i really don't think he will be that difficult to replace especially if a couple of the names i am hearing getting bandied about ,as possible signings ,come to fruition. In my opinion we only have two defenders of real quality. That needs to be addressed if we are to stand a chance of promotion
Once again it's going to be a very competitive league. One that will be very difficult to get out of.

Paul’s a winner and u can’t argue with what he has done at benburb , when I played talbot of the Wullie Knox era were all the same , a tackle on one of their players and 8 players ran at the ref but ultimately it was to win games and they did that
He has worked wonders at the Bens, no doubt about that, but he is building a reputation for being a horrible wee shite. I know plenty of winners who wouldn't lower themselves to his level of behaviour on the sidelines. Only my opinion, nothing against the guy on a personal level

Ah right! Great to see Paul Lovering losing games regardless.
I've got to agree with that mate. Lovering is a horrible ,spiteful wee individual. I was standing behind him last night and some of his shouts were shocking. First few minutes there was an simple coming together of two players, when his player got up he was told by his manager, " fuckin do him " . Add all the screaming for every challenge that went on , he is by far the worst i have ever encountered. He is worse than Strain Jnr. and that is saying something. The whole Benburb bench is choreographed to jump up and scream about any physical contact whatsoever . Horrible to watch and listen to. A shame as i like the Bens as a club . Frank Lovering was no shrinking violet but he must cringe at the loutish behaviour of his offspring.

A truly remarkable promotion for the Bens, the Glens not so much as i think they were just about everyone's pick to go up. Congratulations to both clubs. Wonderful consistency .

We competed well against a very good St.Mirren u20s, held our own against Pollok, skelped a really poor Craigroyston and eventually took our chances against Maryhill to win quite easily.
I reckon Dunky will be happy with what he has seen so far. As a supporter i'm neither up or down about the performances but do concede we look as if we have improved .
How much we have improved is up for debate. McGaughey looks a talent, Urquart is going to do well. Without being disrespectful none of the other signings are stand outs . I believe Cammy O'Neill is coming back from a bad injury so hopefully the lad is able to get back to full fitness and become a big player for us.
One thing i do not want to see is young Gummy being played out of position to make room for a less talented player. This young lad was arguably our best player last season and was a great attacking option for us down the left and has a great delivery into the box. He was also cool defensively, covering constantly for more experienced teammates.
Looking forward to the start of our league campaign.
