Well, HJK is winnable. PAOK only managed to beat Hearts 6-1 on aggregate, so that should be easy enough.

I love how Joe still refers to the team as us

Who's the co-commentator on RedTV? Doing my fucking nut in.

Southampton can go and jog on. I forgot how exquisite some of his finishes were last season.

Good deal all round really. 9ers were right to be aggressive in going after a QB when they did, unfortunately didn't work out, but that's the draft for you.
Purdy will be a top 5 QB this season (bad injury luck excluded), and the 9ers must have one of the best records of draft picks outside the 1st round in the league. So many exceptional talents in the squad from lower rounds. Pity their 1st round hit/bust ratio is only about 50/50.
Got to get this Bosa deal wrapped up asap.

Looks like the game will be close to selling out with only a few hundred tickets left.
Should be a good atmosphere with the Dons selling out the North stand. That's excellent from St. Mirren.
I presume we only have the one stand then? Hopefully you'll do the same against the cheeks (maybe you already do).

Amazing how much better we looked after the subs. Superb comeback, Pittodrie will be bouncing next week.

Despite the lack of signings (which is its own issue), it is genuinely concerning that Robson thinks a back three of Devlin, Rubezic and Mackenzie is fit for purpose.

Delighted with this signing. Superb stuff.
According to the Daily Record, Jensen will be registered in time for the Europa League match on Thursday.
I'd take Scales back. He is a good player. 400-500k absolute max. However we should have learned our lesson from the Ryan Christie debacle. No more dealings with Celtic. It's embarrassing how we've danced to their tune over Liam Scales.
The Jensen signing shows the exact opposite...

This is a painful watch. Wales are all over the place. Totally outclassed.

Shayden Morris should spend 40hrs a week training on absolutely nothing other than crossing. Maybe next season he can mix that up a bit with some shooting.
Robson said recently that he wants backroom staff that aren't yes men and will challenge him. Taking that on face value, that means his entire backroom staff last night agreed with him that it was a good idea to finish the game with a backup left back at centre half, and a backup attacking midfielder at left back.
That's either staggering tactical naivety, or staggering stubborness, both of which are a bad sign. Greatest of respect to Stirling, but a better team would have absolutely made us pay for that.
Not quite at pant pishing stage yet, but definitely getting rather concerned.

Some finish.
Just started watching on RedTV. Richard Gordon is class on radio, but its like he doesnt realise viewers can actually see whats going on, just doesnt shut up.
Whose the co-comms? Coming across like a bit of a weapon
Their commentary is also being broadcast audio only.

Don't worry, there's still time for 3 goals from Stirling.

Cracking hit.

Fair play to Stirling, very well drilled side. Plenty of energy and endeavour.

We'll not get near them. They weren't great today but Rodgers has a lot more to get out of that team.
No chance he has Ralston and Hart playing together all season.
Of course, when I said "who knows", I was really talking about the ****.

Was fairly impressed with MacKenzie today, looked back to the player of when he first broke through, pre injury. Encouraging. Also impressed with Morris, real pace, and the positivity of beating his man and getting the ball in straight away was good. Obviously needs to keep working on the quality of that ball. Also thought Devlin was decent, brain fart aside.
We're 4 or 5 first choice players away from coming close to competing with Celtic, but at least we gave it a go today. Play to that standard in all our league games and we'll be comfortably 3rd. Add a few more top players and who knows...

Robson staying that "on another day we win that game 2 0" in his post match interview is the most concerning part of Saturday's loss.
He's just sticking up for his squad there I think. If he's coming away with that after 11 games and we're well off the pace then that'll be justified concern.
He's got this McInnesness about him that "you have to earn the right to play football". The problem with that is that if you don't get things right, you can easily spend the whole season without actually playing football.
That's going to be the more likely scenario unless we sort out the defence and wide areas rapidly.

We've had both in my time. Vujadinovic (sp?) + Kiriakov + Tzetanov That's plenty.

I was going for all at the same time, lads.

I don't remember us having a Bosnian, a Croatian or a Greek. Yet.
We need a Montenegrin and Bulgarian as well. I suppose if we want to win Balkan top trumps we should really have someone from the region that's older than 31 years, 3 months, and 5 days.

Thankfully didn't spend the £5 today, but Robson seemed pretty upbeat about the performance. Certainly more upbeat than on here (or than the scoreline would suggest he should be).
Good to hear we're not far away from a couple more defenders though. Presumably the Serbian lad, and hopefully a quality left back as well as that's the glaring weakness that remains.
Even still, I think we're a good number short of the squad we need to compete on four fronts until

Month or two ago posting about what we'd like to see for the transfer window, I posted I'd like essentially two teams, i.e. two players for every position, and then if possible to flesh out a 30ish man squad with senior backups and laddies. While I'm not going to call people out (mainly because I can't be arsed looking), I certainly had some comments of the "Stop playing FM" ilk. Currently I make it:
GK:
Roos, Doohan, Ritchie
CB:
MacDonald, Jensen, Rubezic, Gartenmann, MacKenzie, Williams, Milne.
RWB:
Devlin, Morris (f**k knows why he keeps getting played), Dadia (does he exist)
LWB:
McGarry, Hayes, Duncan (no idea why he keeps getting played here)
CM/AM:
Shinnie, Clarkson, McGrath, Polvara, Barron, Besuijen, Marshall
CF:
Miovski, Duk, Sokler, Gueye, Bavidge
...Which is 28 players, and at least one senior backup for every position. Given we all feel that we're a bit light in midfield, having a Ramadani replacement, and another backup would feel more comfortable.
I'm not one to expect overt displays of contrition...
but apologies from those concerned will be met with the utmost of grace.
