  1. With Broomhill playing on the pitch yesterday I can’t even begin to imagine what kind of a nick it is in. Our pitch simply cannot handle 3 games in a week, especially when 2 of those are back to back.

It’s genuinely borderline unplayable, just due to it’s general state. I find watching home games a bit of a slog because the pitch impacts the quality of the game so much. The players must absolutely hate it.

I’d also just like to add that Marc Kelly has the worst combover I’ve ever seen.

  2. I’ll be honest, I thought we were well worth the 3 points yesterday and I would’ve been very disappointed if Stranraer equalised. I thought we created far more chances and that Finlay Gray sitter at the end of the first half should’ve sealed it.

It was by no means perfect but a couple of good chances aside for Stranraer I thought they were fairly rubbish.

  3. Top notch moving day from Bob. Puts him right in contention tomorrow if this fud Knapp could just stop getting a birdie every hole.

  4. The 2nd half we seemed to revert back to type a bit which I found odd but Stranraer also looked a hell of a lot better than their first half horror show.

I thought Newbury was excellent in the middle of the park today, he looks a real find and I’m surprised Hamilton have decided to send him out on loan instead of utilising him. Wallace and Gray both proved why they should be in the starting 11 and Blair put in a good shift at left back. I also thought Hogarth had his best performance in a Sons shirt.  I remain completely unconvinced by Lennon and the sooner Durnan is fit the better.

Whilst I think Carlo’s influence in midfield would be beneficial I’m not really understanding the clamour to reintroduce Lynas back into the starting 11. Whilst he gives 100% I’ve always found him to be a very limited player and it seems like his stock grows every weekend he’s not included in the starting 11. With Newbury in there I thought the midfield looked a lot more settled.

Farrell deserves some credit for making the changes he did today.

  5. I feared the worst after 5 minutes - we looked an absolute rabble and were already 1 down but since then this is the best we’ve played in months. Cian Newbury has been excellent and he’s such a huge upgrade on Blair Malcolm it’s not real.

It looks like we’re trying a few different things, we look far more direct and we aren’t trying to walk the ball in. It’s nice to see us producing defence splitting passes for a change.

Finlay Gray and Tony Wallace should never be dropped for inferior bench warmers again.

Good to see Gray back in the side.
would have liked to have seen Hilton in beside him rather than Wilson.

Given that Hilton was hooked at half time last week for being absolutely hopeless and he’s contributed ziltch the in the vast majority of his other starts he was the first guy I was wanting dropped.

An early kick off is a great thing if you're in good form. It allows you to put pressure on the others around you in the table. But, on our current run, it'll just be motivation at half time for the like of East Fife and Bonnyrigg to up their game, if they aren't already winning at half time in their own matches.

This is something I hadn’t even considered and it’s a good point.

Is the early kick off a one off or could it become norm?

We’ve tried to dress it up like we’re eco warriors and thinking of the climate when in reality it’s a cost cutting exercise. Personally I prefer a 3pm kick off but if it saves us a bit of cash then they can go for it but it requires approval from both the SPFL and the opposing team which I’m not sure we’d get for every home game. I’d imagine it would probably suit the players getting home a bit earlier on a Saturday evening so if we’re offering it then you may find them pushing for it.

I have no idea who his coach is but if I was him I’d be leaning on my Ryder Cup team mates for advice and getting on the blower to Brad Faxon.

    You’re welcome Bob…

  10. I see Steven Boyd left Morton today. I’d assume because he’s left them outside the transfer window we couldn’t sign him on a permanent deal but could he sign on a brown envelope/travel expenses amateur deal? No doubt the chicken man is lining him up as EK’s 99th signing of the season.

  11. Wallace is a guy I’m happy to stick around. Knows where the goal is, never hides and is generally always available for selection. It doesn’t take away from the fact that our buffoon of a chairman is allowing a guy who should’ve been sacked two years ago to hand out contract extensions like sweeties. It just cements his place regardless of what happens in terms of league position.

    Mackay oot.

There were shouts for Farrel to quit , walk, usual disgruntled comments followed by a shout for a change and bring on a particular  player , which was then followed by  " is said player shagging your wife , what has he done wrong " or words to that effect  . That was the comment in its entirety   .

Iv been given more abuse at the breakfast table .   Personally I think it's gone way over the top and has now created a smoke screen for how poor Saturdays result was .

What happened to sticks n stones , sure if it were the big two and everytime there was something aimed at the managers  ..they're would be empty stadiums . But because we're in such a small number it's easy to pin point folk and put blame.

Again we are living in the time of snowflake generation.

On the park , we're maybe about to see a team fight for their lives and watch the great escape........ failing that it could be far worse and keep sinking.

There are players in there , we need to go back to the style of play we witnessed at the beginning of the season .

This is a terrible take and your snowflake generation comment purely highlights you as an utter gammon.

Without going into details I’m led to believe Farrell’s family member is going through a tough time personally which means it probably cut him pretty deep. Did the guy who shouted it know that? Probably not. The moral of that story is that you don’t really know what people are going through so the best course of action is to keep your mouth shut with regards personal insults.

Did we require two statements and a reminder of how we should all behave? Absolutely not, but if someone shouted something about my wife I’d want to knock them out. Being at the football doesn’t excuse it.

  13. Ryan Wallace retiring mid season is a really odd one. I’ve always found him to be one of our better players and would be one of the first names on the teamsheet for me. For a guy who has had such a good career in the Scottish lower leagues it seems a shame to bow out mid season with a few lines on the OS and nothing more.

I think it has already been well established that the guy who has replaced him in the squad the last few weeks is not the answer, certainly not in his position anyway. It’s some buzz having our squad weakened in mid February, in a key position with nobody having a clue how we plug the gap.

Funnily enough, the Trust has been previously approached on several occasions with comments/complaints on the behaviour of fellow fans, so obviously some people think the Trust has a relevance here.  None of these previous instances resulted in any form of Trust statement, but such was the content of what was reported to us about Saturday's incident that it was felt necessary on this occasion.

If that is 'wading in', then guilty as charged.

If it’s purely off the back of Saturday’s incident involving one invidual then I think a statement from the club and the Trust is OTT. I’ve been told what the comment was, it was in very poor taste and something I certainly wouldn’t condone nor have I heard shouted before. Surely speaking to the individual in question and taking the necessary action against them would be a more suitable way to deal with it? The rest of us don’t need two different statements telling us how to behave at the fitba’ and it reads like it was a stand full of Dumbarton fans shouting personal abuse rather than one guy.

If this is off the back of numerous incidents involving other supporters as well then neither statement actually mentions that, they only mention Saturday.

  15. Neil Mackay can shove that statement up his farter. One wee steaming guy shouting something personal is not representative of us a fan base and that statement make us sound like a collective group of animals. It’s now getting firmly into “blown well out of proportion” territory. A word in the culprits ear, an apology and lets move on. I’d be confident he wouldn’t be doing it again. As I suspected, this incident would used to deflect from our complete shiteness all round. The Trust wading in with statements on social media is not necessary IMHO.

  16. Bob back on the scene for this weekend’s “Mexican Open”.

A poor field IMO, and at this stage I’m selfishly wishing he was just slugging it out on the DP because these lesser events are absolutely rotten to watch. This PGA card that is earned via the standings on the DP is a bit of a sham, hopefully he can sort out the putting and make a good go of it to put him in the frame for playing some of the tournaments that are actually worth watching.

Its true SF can stay unless pushed but Im not sure that the board will dig in.They are pretty sensitive to the fans as without us their game is up.Not sure how we would organise it but pressure needs to be brought upon them and change is needed desperately.Even as you say SF will not give up even if we miss out on top 4.

    FARRELL OUT.

Trust me, Mackay does not give one flying f**k what me, you or any other fan thinks. He simply doesn’t care about the supporters.

The only thing he cares about is himself, hence why we seen him barking like a dug when an his name was brought to the publics attention recently.
