You will win hee haw nae bother, I tried to tell you fools that before a ball had been kicked! You lot are simply not good enough to trounce this league, it's as simple as that! The Billy big baws attitude is comical

What I find comical is the average Fifer's reading comprehension. Try reading what SD actually said.

Official site match report. “Falkirk started the team the better game”. Christ, I don’t expect FFC to employ a proof reader, but surely whoever writes guff like that should at least have the pride to read it back to themselves before posting it.

This too, "into the onrushing keepers (sic) arms".

The general quality of written English nowadays is f*king deplorable!

    As for today's journalists...

  3. Aye, I agree with you, given the circumstances, Jack probably isn't the best example of what I was getting at.

One of the things I said about McKinnon is the great opportunity he has, or maybe had, to set him and his family up for life. With the huge advantage he has regarding his budget, he had a chance to impress bigger clubs than us and step up a level or two, and maybe even step up again. Landing a good job down South, with the wages on offer, could put Ray and his family on easy street.

But, the arse he is making of the Falkirk job surely cannot be overlooked by everyone in the game.

Hopefully Ray, through some twist of fate, will find a starting 11 that happen to click and we do win the league, but I still think he should not be given a new contract.

  4. Such is the paucity of the pool of managers, Ross will walk into another job before the ink is dry on his P45.

Is there any other industry where this happens?

Some managers are serial failures, yet when they get emptied for doing a poor job at one club so many others are queueing up to get their signature!

  5. I think the team that can be most satisfied with the first quarter is Dumbarton. In their first match they could barely kick a ball but they have turned things around dramatically, well done to them. Most disappointed with Stranraer, but they have had injury problems to cope with.

As for Falkirk, bitterly disappointed with more than half the matches we have played. The Forfar and Stranraer games were like training games, Peterheed, Clyde, Aidrie and East Fife were woeful. First half v Raith was good, then Ray had a breakdown or something and we didn't turn up 2nd half.

Like most people I think it is a race between FFC and Raith, although EF are unbeaten I have a feeling they will fall away when injuries and the conditions that winter games usually have take their toll.

Falkirk, for me, are rated no better than 'okay' for the 1st quarter, it could be better but it could also be worse. There is a long way to go, even though I don't think Ray is a good manager, I think he will just get us over the winning line to the title, probably after bringing in a few new faces (yet again) in the January window.

So first quarter, hats off to Dumbarton, and Falkirk are doing 'okay'.

  6. If you put yourself in Ray's shoes, where we are in the league and our results so far, it would be the easiest thing in the world to put a positive spin on it.

The best GD, only lost one game, only conceded 4 goals, one win off the top spot and still a relatively new squad.

Regardless of how bad a manager we know he is, he can use these facts to argue his corner, and on face value, he would have a good case.

Considering you's have been posting for months about 'the box office bairns' and how they are going to steamroller this pathetic league with their far superior squad, what sort of reaction do you expect from opposition fans when you fail?

To be pedantic, there is still time to 'steam-roller this pathetic league'.

I personally do not know any Falkirk supporter who said we would walk this league, we all know that Ray is an incompetent manager.

There might be some silly laddies somewhere who believed we would, but I would say the majority of long-suffering Falkirk fans knew this league would be difficult to get out of.

Read the Falkirk thread, you will see that most of us were cautious about our chances of winning this league.

But, as has been pointed out, it is traditional to call your opponents shite :)

Circumstances matter. I wouldn’t have been happy with a point pre-match, but to be two behind at half time, having lost our captain to injury, it’s not at all difficult to see why we ended up being delighted with it. East Fife drawing with Stranraer was the cherry on the cake.

Cold light of day? Quite possibly a better point for Falkirk than us. Head-to-head can end up really mattering in title races. I remember being happy enough with a home draw against Ayr in our first season down, came from behind, kept us top and didn’t cede any ground, etc. The extra two points we could’ve won that day would’ve, ultimately, made the difference come May.

But, here and now, the draw keeps us top at the end of Q1 having looked like we were in full crisis mode on August 31st. You could also argue we had six players out (seven once Benedictus went off) so great to see us continue to perform with such a list. Armstrong came back and made a huge difference, Baird getting fitter, and plenty other positives. Not hard to see why we’re happy enough with yesterday’s outcome.

I have no reason to disagree with anything you said in your post, but you seem to have missed my point.

My point is referring to the logic of *some* Raith fans who call a team 'shite' right after they have drawn 2-2 at home with them.

  9. Ray was in the paper saying that xmas is the time to look at the league, and I suspect he is pointing this out to the MSG. Yes, we are not where we want to be but Ray can spin it to them that we are only 3pts off the top and we are still a new team etc.

I think Ray will see out his contract unless MC comes in and sends him on his way, which I can't see happening.

Whether we stagger over the winning line or not, we cannot have Ray as our manager next season. As we have seen, he is out of his depth in the Championship (he may be out of his depth in L1), and unfortunately so are quite a few of our players.

If we do go up, as well as a new manager we probably need yet another new group of players (we also need a new pitch).

Whoever is in charge of the boardroom at that time will need to invest a substantial amount of money to make us into a team capable of even finishing top four in the Championship.

Of course teams are going to call you rancid etc when you fail to beat 'rubbish' teams again and again; your fans have brought this on yourselves.

Also, coming back 2-0 down against a team who are favourites for the league isn't your standard, run-of-the-mill draw imo.

But no one, certainly not me, has said that Raith are 'rubbish'. In fact, if you read the match thread I would say the majority of Falkirk fans did not expect anything from the match yesterday, a handful of us expected a draw at best.

The point I was making is regarding the thought process of some, not all,  of the Raith fans.

When you call a team shite, and they had been leading your team 2-0 at half time, what does that make your team? Raith played very well in the 2nd half, but ffs, you still didn't beat a shite team a home.

I would challenge anyone to find a Falkirk fan who thinks we have a good team. We have some good individuals, but for some reason they  are not a good team by any stretch of the imagination.

If you haven’t heard, we gifted a goal, lost another to a dodgy decision (one of many) then if here had been more time left would have beaten your ropey lot.

Falkirk were good until we changed it, then you were shite and couldn’t cope.

    Ray the snake must stay!

In other words, you scraped a point at home to a shitey team.

Got a hard-fought draw after being 2-0 down mate! How about yourselfs? Hope yous didn’t shit the bed

You got a hard fought draw against a rancid team? That must make your team equally as rancid?

My rancid team drew away from home against the team at the top of the league.

All joking aside, I really didn't think we would get anything from the game today. Knowing how bad a manager Ray is, a tiny part of my brain toyed with a 0-0, but reasoning kicked back in and I thought we would lose. So a point gained in my book.

  13. Well played Raith (2nd half) enjoy your night.

Today confirmed what I think the majority of our support (the semi sentient ones at least) already knew. As things stand we are not going to win the league, and it is very unlikely we would do anything via the play-offs.

If something is not working, then you have to change something, and we all know what has to change. Ray has been handed a budget that should have given him a huge advantage over the rest of the league, and he has brought in some (not all) decent players.

Many posters from other teams saw who Ray has brought in and said he is bringing a sledgehammer to crack a walnut. But, Ray does not know where the handle of the sledgehammer is, he is simply an awful manager.

But, come January he will be given another shitload of cash to try and buy the league title and there is no guarantee that he won't piss that up a wall as well.

As someone said, Ray won't be sacked by the current board, so are stuck with him, at least until something gets sorted out in the boardroom. We know MC is a tit and will never buy our club, so that particular merry-go-round will have to be reset and a different, more credible owner sought out.

We are stuck with Ray for the time being, and unless he throws a double six and happens upon a winning formula, we are not going anywhere soon.

  14. Two things.

    1. We are not living inside a John le Carre novel. All the people who think this is some sort of elaborate plot by the MSG to use MC as a gimp so they can be seen as saviours of the club when they tell him to feck off are wholly deluded.

    2. Just my opinion, but surely if MC had the money the deal would have been done by now?

The MSG are digging a bigger hole for themselves by not drawing a line in the sand for MC to pay up or feck off.
