  1. Btw I don’t know if it’s a temporary thing, but United have put up the goals for the last couple games on their YouTube channel
  2. A pretty bizarre situation we find ourselves in so far. This league is there for the taking certainly, but there are probably at least 6 teams thinking the exact same thing. Our recruitment over the last couple of seasons means that we have a squad of players good enough to win games in spite of Lazlo, as evidenced by the apparent lack of respect between the bench and the pitch yesterday. If we are to win this league it will be through our defence, we have scored in every game this season despite being below par overall, that’s also been done in large parts without a striker who scored 20+ goals last season and at least one or two of our best creative forces in midfield. I know we haven’t been up against the top two and county yet, but we’ve not conceded more than one goal a game in the league since the opening game. If we can turn the majority of those into clean sheets we have a real chance of doing something, which is why I’m encouraged by yesterday, and the performance of bouhenna in particular, meaning that we could potentially have 3, at the very worst, largely solid central defenders. Because of the above, I’m about as optimistic as I have been since we went down, but that’s tempered with huge frustration at the fact that it’s probably going to keep Lazlo in charge, presiding over a level of inconsistency this season that I think a half decent manager coming in could eliminate. In short, being a United fan is fucking frustrating.
  3. Hopefully the 18 points per quarter target mentioned by stumigoo is what is being adhered to here, there’s no chance that’s being achieved and I think that is as long as we can afford for him to be left in charge.
  4. Yep, that’s our strongest line-up i think, with potential to play 4-4-2 by taking off a central defender and bringing on Wardrop, shifting Loemba out to the left wing. As well as the cover you mention, hopefully players like glass, smith, zata and chalmers can make a decent impact as well. A team capable of winning the league...under the right tutelage...[emoji20]
  5. Alloa are a good team and it was a team of predominantly very young players who haven’t had many games together I’m pretty pleased they got a draw after 90 mins.
  6. I was expecting us to get steamrollered today, good for folk like fyvie to get a run out and there seems to be a few more youngsters to be excited about than in the last couple seasons. Really nothing for people to get upset about.
  7. That would seem to make sense, which means there’s no chance of it happening.
  8. I don’t know about anyone else, I’d rather see a mock up of Anne Marie Waters, leader of the far right, anti Islam, political party ‘For Britain’ in a Dee top. Certainly not Sadiq Khan, who can’t talk properly.
  9. As much as I love your summations and histories, did Boyd not do it a couple of times?
  10. I would just like to confirm I have never been attracted to either of the west coast arse cheeks.
  11. Totally disagree, these guys are paid to be part of a squad and act professional and represent the club at all times. This only serves to make the club appear even more of a circus than it already is. I could understand it more if these guys were teenagers, but they are fully grown men, both of whom have done f**k all of any note at the club since they’ve been here. Get them to f**k.
  12. This may get lost in the midst of the match taking place, but McMullan has posted on Instagram basically publicly criticising both his and Keatings absence from the squad, which keatings has championed. Regardless of what is going on at the club, we can’t have players doing this publicly, hopefully Martin gets made aware of this and takes a strong line on it, they need at least suspended and ideally turfed out. Both useless man children.
  13. You able to shed any light on the 3 strikes and you’re out story, and whether it’s true or not?
  14. Regardless of whether that’s the case or not, that should not be your reaction. He should be getting on with it and showing everyone there why he should be in the team.
  15. I cannot recall one time where any manager has been given a number of matches to turn things around and actually survived. Given the known standard in this situation I am now certain this won’t change (if the sun article is true). This whole exercise strikes me as somewhat of a face saving exercise by the board i.e in 3 matches time they can say to the fans look he’s gone you got what you wanted, and can’t be accused by the Scottish media of giving him a hard time (sacking him one or two games into a season). Anyone who has even the slightest knowledge of the situation at tannadice knows that he needs to go now, by allowing him to stay we are essentially sacrificing a proportion of the next 9 points available. If the end of this season comes down to fine margins that we are on the wrong side of, the board should take full responsibility for the decision and any fan fury which accompanies the consequences.
  16. Big bad Yan saying he is ready to ‘go to war’ against the league next year in an instagram post. Hopefully Csambles is the first casualty.
  17. Based on Saturday, if we do not sign a target man over 6ft before the season starts i will have been convinced this is all some sort of fever dream, and go with the Groundhog Day approach of stepping out in front of cars in an effort to wake myself up
  18. Yesterday the first half was fine, not good but fine, we played some nice stuff and despite some shaky moments could have had the game comfortably buried. I thought Barton looked like the best technical footballer we’ve had for years, his awareness and composure was great, Stanton(despite again being played out of position on the right) looked lively as always and keatings and aird also had their moments. Second half was nothing short of a disgrace and 100% down to the manager, don’t really know where to begin or end but some of my favourites are, having Barton on for 90 mins despite the fact he was clearly done after 50, removing both strikers and putting 2ft 4 winger Paul McMullan up front by himself even after we conceded a goal, having Stuart murdoch take the first penalty, not leaving anyone up top on opposition corners... I’ve said before I think this team is capable of doing well in this league, probably even finishing first, but not with this buffoon in charge. The desire was there from the players yesterday, but there was no discipline, shape or game plan, people were just left to do what they wanted (which is probably why Barton was playing box to box in the first half and absolutely fucked in the second) you saw aird constantly switching sides and moving into the middle of the park, Declan glass giving the ball away after just running at people and countless sideway passes before it got given back to edge who just lumped it forward. If it is too expensive to sack him them put him and the other twat on gardening leave and put one/ a combination of Ellis, Robertson, Easton or luggy in charge. It would not be possible for them to do a worse job.
  19. Unfortunately yes, fancy making a saving by going halfers on some bleach for our eyeballs?
  20. This a whoosh? Given he has been on trial at Sheffield United and linked with Aston Villa I reckon there’s nothing in it.
  21. Unlike a lot of Arabs on here I think the majority of the signings/ resigning we’ve made are pretty good. I’m sure we have a squad capable of winning the league, just as we did last season. Csaba’s ineptitude means this doesn’t matter however (see playing Stanton as a winger the other night- I can’t be arsed bringing up any more examples). I would fancy our chances this season if we didn’t have him in charge
