  1. I would imagine he hasn't a clue what he's talking about.
  2. No doubt Robinson will 'do an Andy McNeil' and play a blinder any time we face him.
  3. What bizarre logic. Donaldson always seemed awkward and ungainly, certainly not Championship material. Maybe he's versatile as he was happy to play anywhere along the back 4; unfortunately he wasn't particularly good in any position.
  4. My one and only trip there was the last game of the season in about 1982 or '83. We needed to beat Meadowbank and Ayr to lose at already promoted Dumbarton to avoid relegation. Rovers took the lead in the first minute and the noise from our fans was unlike anything I'd ever heard at a Rovers game before. We won 2-1 in the end and I just remember the absolute dejection I felt when we got back to the bus and learned that Ayr had won at Dumbarton to relegate us and I think I cried most of the way home. I hated Dumbarton for years after that.
  5. The Facebook page is worse than Fantalk. And that's saying something. As has been said, IF he stays fit he'll be a good signing. on first impression I'm pleased with the signing.
  6. Exactly. Remember, even Wullie Gray's team of superstars couldn't beat our team of juniors (can't remember his exact quote, but something to do with signing a player from Edinburgh University, I think)
  7. Spence was quite vocal about wanting regular games, I just hope that hasn't been promised him within the terms he's been offered. If it hasn't, I assume he'll look for that elsewhere.
  8. Could Spence be one of the "other registered players to have decided to move on"?
  9. Hamed Sacko scored more goals for us at this level than Graham Weir did..
  10. Why anyone would put money on relegation before all the player comings and goings are confirmed is beyond me. Complete over-reaction to losing two entirely replaceable players.
  11. I tend to give the Facebook page a swerve, along with Fantalk. While there are one or two dafties on P&B, I find it has the best sensible posters:Roasters ratio.
  12. While Baird and Cardle are two players I would ideally have kept, I'm not too fussed at their departure. Cardle was wholly inconsistent, excellent on his day, but unfortunately those days were too few and far between. Baird's goals were vital in our survival bid and will be the bigger miss of the two, in my opinion. Especially as he's joined a team in the same league, weakening ourselves and strengthening a rival.
  13. I'm almost certain I saw someone post on here, saying they had spoken to Iain Davidson and he'd said he would never re-sign for the Rovers as they were a team 'going nowhere', or similar.
  14. The Railway Stand thing has been done to death. For the crowds we attract it's just not worth the cost/effort to renovate it, just to appease a few supporters who would probably prefer to sit there, given the choice. I'm not sure spreading our already dwindling support over the three stands instead of two would do much in the way of generating atmosphere. Even an all-singing, all-dancing shiny new Railway Stand wouldn't attract the numbers to justify doing it up.
