  1. Well there was never going to be a title challenge once Stubbs left Hibs. Only Stubbs could have cunted a league title for Hibs this season. With him sadly departed everyone else was playing for second. We're now playing for 4th.
  2. It was never knicker wetting. Everyone could see we'd regressed from last season and had sacrificed numbers for quality. We lost two of our best players and have replaced them with squad fillers. Add to that Kerr and Miller are a year older and Baird is done. We failed to recruit properly and are paying the penalty. I said weeks ago I'd bite your hand off for 4th. I think thats going to be a tough ask now. Board should be hanging their heads in shame. Hope the bank balance looks good. Aces.
  3. Just really disappointing as we had a lot to build on last season, and now we've gone backwards. A poorer first XI. A huge amount rests on Grant returning and hitting the ground running and Sibbald having a season he hasn't hinted is probable to date. Not sure how the board and Houston could have made more of a c**t of this summer to be honest.
  4. I like Leahy but he isn't good defensively. More than makes up for it with his attacking flair. His defending in the Killie away leg was farcical. The guy Magennis just wandered past him at will. And he gave away a stonewall penalty in the first leg that for some bizarre reason wasn't given. He's fine in the Championship but I think he'd be found out week after week if we got promoted. As our board have no ambition for that to happen he's got another couple of seasons at this level anyway.
  5. Best left backs in the past 30 years gave been Tommy McQueen and Forbes Johnston. Worst is without question Stuart Munro. Twaddle was stinking as well.
  6. I don't think there's a lot of goals in the 4 though. Baird is done. Lee Miller can't start every week and Austin is raw. Not convinced by him at all so far. McHugh will get 10-15 goals which is fine. I liked Hardie any time I saw him last season. It would just have been an option. Rankin was an atrocious signing given the circumstances. Not a bad player but the last thing that was needed. Still hope there's a loan signing with some excitement attached before the window closes. I can't believe anyone at the club can think the ins and outs this summer have been remotely acceptable .
  7. The main problem is that we have a host of very ineffectual players. There's endless possible combinations of defence and midfield and none of them are very good. We were short of 3 starters last season and we've lost 2 more and added a heap of squad players. Quantity over quality. Why didn't we go for Ryan Hardie on loan even? Too weak, too slow and too small. And not one signing that looks to have improved the first XI. 3rd is still a realistic target, but I think we'll be fourth at best. In fact I'd bite your hand off for 4th if it was offered right now.
  8. Look.. squirrel . Having absolutely moodhoovered the close season with pisspoor squad building, let's deflect attention from the Vaulks sale and the shambles of a midfield by griping about the playoffs. Go f**k yourselves.
  9. I think the ITK chaps told us earlier in the thread that he was going nowhere. Gasp.. Falkirk TV told them so. Oh dear. No thanks to John Rankin as an ancient Dad's Army replacement please.
  10. Absolute pub darts from Peter Wright so far. Can't buy a treble.
  11. Rankin would be a poor signing. Wrong end of his career and we already have Miller, Kerr and Dodgy Dave to provide that squad experience some consider important. Underwhelmed by the summer activity so far and Vaulks leaving would be awful news. Our best player by a distance . We don't have Stubbs' Hibs in our pockets like last season, with him unfortunately leaving, so was always going to be a harder league in that sense. Still a solid top 4 finish likely but don't see us equipped to win the league. Baird looks done, Miller and Kerr a year older, Vaulks away if true. Relying a lot on Nathan Austin and Peter Grant coming back as the same player.
  12. Day after the Brexit vote I believe. Will be necessary to avoid people having to eat each other for food.
  13. I'd be keen to know too. Maybe once the Chancellor's promised emergency budget arrives we'll know more.
  14. Some funds will be withdrawn temporarily. That's what wealth management firms have been looking at as a contingency plan.
  15. We need to find a way to bring in a talisman player. Either on loan or someone mid thirties with one year of magic left in the legs.
  16. Yeah, its not so much that they could have known she was a tea leaf. But they could and should have known that she was a fucking idiot. You only need to listen to her for 5 seconds to get that. Mason, Roseanna Cunningham, Fergus Ewing and the likes have never hid their bigotry, yet the SNP not only put them up for election, but in some cases put them in cabinet positions. Its a pretty grim situation. They need to do an awful lot better with the screening questions, including a basic competency type interview which should have ruled out the till dipper.
  17. The SNP need to get better at vetting their candidate . We've had Bill Walker, McGarry, Michelle Thomson, Lyle, Cunningham, John Mason and the other bigots, plus embarrassments like Wishart. Surely they can do much better than these goons. Someone should be getting their arse kicked for allowing McGarry to stand.
  18. That's been the case for some time. I don't think the idiot Nat fringe types trying to make excuses for her and blame others have helped.Going to be a pretty ignominious end to what's been a disaster of a career.
  19. So is this a completely different mob she's Father Tedded?
  20. Sorry to pish on your chips, but according to census data, the number of people who identify as Catholics in Scotland increased by 4% from 2001 to 2011.
  21. Hibs will win the Scottish again long before the zombies win the Premiership.
  22. I find lots of behavior unacceptable that shouldn't be criminalised. For example, adults wearing full football kits, I just (and only just) feel should fall below the line of criminal behavior. You answered a question with a question though. Just to be clear hear, you are happy that in Scotland someone could get a criminal conviction for gesturing offensively at a football player? Yes or no?
