    Fair enough.

You see much more of East Fife than me, as I'm an outsider looking in.

However, the three home defeats have all come against other sides in the upper echelon of the league, while your away form has been pretty solid.

Still don’t agree! Yes our three home defeats have been against other sides in the upper echelon of the league but should we not be looking to win these games. If not then we surely are punching above our weight being in the top half of the league. If you take the time to look at previous games on EFTV and see the chances missed by the opposition then you might change your mind.

I think some of the comments relating to Crawford are a bit harsh.

He inherited an absolute carcass of a squad last season, which no one would have kept up in the timescale given, and he's got East Fife realistically challenging for a play-off place this season, with what must be one of the youngest squads in the country.

Don’t agree at all. We are punching above our weight being in the top half of league two. We have won one out of of four home games and that was an injury time penalty!! We have been extremely fortunate in our away games as Albion Rovers, Elgin, Stranraer and Annan will undoubtedly agree. We have four on loan players all 18 years old or under. Our tactics are such that we are playing with a back three and are continually vulnerable down our right hand side.

so all in all I for one am not sad to see Crawford leave.

Jesus I thought when I read this thread that “young Jack Healey” was a fan, not a wee tit of a player who decided to provoke Wallace at the final whistle. If he’s such a precious wee soul he probably shouldn’t go trying to pick fights with grown ass men. What a minter all round!

Wallace doesn’t need someone to provoke him as per the time when he challenged a fan to a square go in the car park after a game.

Not sure if it was just our extra legs at the end or desperation but we seemed to be able to win the ball back with Ryan Shiavone in the middle. I thought his battling gave the others a wee lift. But in the end Sons dealt with it.  Not sure what Craw can do to make us more of a threat in final third.

Yeh agree that our options are limited, and also agree that Schiavone gave us a little bit more dig but really didn’t look like scoring. Could do with a couple more signings but are the right players out there.

  5. I think yesterdays found us out badly. We play the ball along the back line well enough but there is no outlet other to hoist it up the park. We lack a midfielder to take the ball off the back three and burst forward with it to feed forwards. We do not have height up front to be hoisting it up the park from the back although Shepherd tries hard to get underneath it but generally lacks support. Th first goal at Stranraer, the Dumbarton goal and the shot that hit the post soon after all came from the right back position so I would suggest that a back three isn’t working. We really did not look like scoring yesterday after we went behind. All in all yesterdays game was one of the worst I have sat through from a footballing point of view.

Aye he looks the same with us. He strikes me as the type of guy who will chip in a few goals but is the type of player is more effective playing behind an out and out striker. If McKee is out this weekend I wouldn’t be against him starting in that role.

In saying wouldn’t really put it past him to be on the scoresheet.

Definitely doesn't look finished. He's a hard working and tricky, technical forward and adds clever play to our attack. He's been a victim of circumstance since the competitive games started. He was being lined up as the main striker during pre season, but a knock at the start of the season, followed by being unavailable due to a friend's wedding once he had recovered has meant Declan Byrne being picked out of necessity, which has coincided with a great winning run, meaning the manager isn't in a hurry to change the starting XI. Wallace will have his part to play as the season rolls along. He looks the type who needs a run of games for form and sharpness, but I don't think he's in any way done. Quite a good player to watch and offers us a different option.

Don’t think Wallace is an out and out/main striker these days. Last 2 seasons with us when he could be bothered playing he seemed content to sit deeper and let Connell do the running upfront hence scored very few goals over his time at Bayview.

He is injured, must be 6 months since or happened, so seems he's needing an op that he's out this long.

I believe we've been trying to get a loanee in, but struggling, as parent clubs want guarantees on playing time.

Gallacher has had his finger operation and should be back in training soon. I’m in no doubt that we will be going with Fleming as first choice , Gallacher as second choice. The 20’s keeper is only 16/17 so should not be pitched into any league game at his age and experience although we did do it last year with Liam Campbell at Cove but he was let go at end of last season.

In response to another post, Sam Dunham is a real find and is doing very well with Aaron Steele in centre of defence. Wouldn’t be surprised if he gets another shot at a higher level.

I could see that being suitable if a couple of coaches were bringing a hundred kids with them and needed them together to supervise them, but they only get free entry with a paying adult so they're all coming separately with their parent(s).

Still think it’s an unnecessary poke at the board when they are trying to do something positive in the community. Damned if they do, damned if they don’t.

Look, I really didn't mean to offend you, or any resident of Methil.

I don't want to get into a slanging match. I deleted my previous post because it was unnecessary.

likewise I have followed your example and deleted my post. It too was unnecessary. May the best team win on Saturday.

Wow! Really did not expect some of the tripe  that has appeared on this post! Anyway, I stand by what I said, and we will be going to Brechin on Saturday.  This means that East Fife will be nearly £100 down by our absence, and I really hope a lot more people follow our example. I must make it clear, though, that this is not a slur on fans of either side. It is an attempt (probably hopeless) to bring it home to clubs that if they continue to take the piss out of the fans, it is they who will suffer in the long run. The sooner we get back to the days when the entry prices were set by the authorities at the start of the season, so that everybody has to charge the same, whether they like it or not.

    Think about it.

You guys are lucky that you only might have to pay East Fife entry fee twice at most. EF do have some very loyal supporters who may have to pay the inflated prices 18 times this season.

  12. Although I think that hiking up the entry prices was a bad decision what I would say is that If any of the guys who are saying that there was not a cheep out of the club for the hike, had bothered to go to the club’s open day there was a question and answer firstly with the manager and then the chairman and other members of the board who tried to justify the price hike. I believe that a resume of that q and a session was posted on the website for people who didn’t go.

It's not always about the bottom line. Sometimes clubs need to concede a bit of income for the sake of goodwill and keeping supporters happy. There's only so long your "diehards" will continue to "donate" their season ticket money if they feel they're being exploited, and at 18 quid a game for 4th tier football that's exactly what they're doing. You can say the club will die of folk don't pay it, perhaps the club should have considered that when setting the price. You can't shift blame onto stay away fans here.

Totally agree with The Moonster about £18. The true supporters rallied round contributing to a go fund me page during lockdown and are rewarded with an extortionate hike in prices. The chairman tries to justify the hike by reeling off running costs of the the club, well all clubs are in the same boat there, and he also tries to justify the hike by saying that prices haven’t risen for a few seasons and will probably stay at this level for a few seasons to come. Perhaps a minimal increase year on year would have been easier to swallow than a hike of said magnitude.Anyway hope they don’t stay the same in coming seasons to come cos who knows what league we will be in??????

  14. Going by a few posts in the EF v Bonnyrigg thread from other team fans re price of entry to games at Bayview, I think we will be looking at a sparse away end at most league games this season. Why don’t the powers that be at Bayview just come out and admit that they have shot themselves in the foot in this instance. I for one haven’t renewed my season ticket this season.
