  1. If it was anything like the blatant dive earlier by either 22 or 23 in the middle then no pen. Durnham has a boy wrestle him to the ground in your box and also dived for a header with your player going with him with a grip of his shirt. Both seemed more of a penalty to me. Your boy diving in two footed, studs up and getting a yellow was also far worse than Hendersons challenge on the keeper. Even your first goal was a foul on Big Andy , he was pulled back round neck/shoulder before the pass back catastrophe. We were bad today, no getting away for that but you’ll never get all the refs decisions like that again. Officials were atrocious today.

    Hi Waspie,

So the poster above didn’t want to talk about the referee! He is just complaining about your ex-manager.

The penalty decision still questionable after seeing it from that angle. Does confirm Graham was fouled just before the free kick was awarded for the pass back though. The Alloa highlights showed a clear shirt pull on Durnan in the box just before half time too. Refs have a very tough gig but pretty bold to say he got all the big calls correct there.

Not sure why certain EF fans getting worked up over this anyway, we were utterly shite and deserved absolutely nothing from the game. Our defeat yesterday and issues in general go way beyond refereeing decisions and poor defending.

Who is getting worked up? It’s Alloa fans who are wearing the blinkers and griping about the officials thinking that all the big decisions went against them. I suppose EF could say that we could have had another penalty when Connell was in a very good scoring position and looked like ha was fouled but we won’t. Like I said in a previous post the only consistent thing about referees in leagues one and two is their inconsistency.

For any Alloa fan still thinking that Durnans elbow to the face of Steele wasn’t a penalty have a look at East Fifes highlights shows clearly that Dumbo Durnan is clearly guilty. So instead of showing your anger at the referee I would suggest you blame the stupid defending right in front of the ref.

I would also add the reckless swing connecting with the goalkeepers head to the above.

    The lowest point today.

I said on the 11th of December that we will be relegated and it's pretty clear now . Absolutely brutal today and East Fife deserved their win but easily the worst team to win at the recs for many years .

The manager has lost it and it's just not working. I actually had to be persuaded to go to the match today by my 13 year old daughter who is not as scunnered as me. I have had a season ticket since 1996 but this is dreadful just now .

    Just another Saturday.

Looking forward to being back at forthbank etc next season..

Surely Alloa themselves are the worst team to win at the recs for years. Yes/no?

I thought Dunsmore caused us some bother a few years ago and I’d happily have seen us sign him then but I haven’t been too impressed with him over the last couple of seasons. Like a few other East Fife players, he seems to have regressed and isn’t quite as good as he was. He was barely in the game at all today before being taken off. I was going to say that we’ve moved on from needing a player like him but we do like to sign East Fife players!

I didn’t see the East Fife v Airdrie game at Bayview but by all accounts Jude Smith was excellent that day. Is there a reason Scott Gallacher was playing ahead of him today? I’ve never really rated Gallacher and for me signing him on a two year deal was probably the worst bit of business East Fife did in the summer, though East Fife fans might know better. He wasn’t really at fault for anything in particular today but he never seems confident and I always thought out defence were a lot more on edge when he was in goals.

Three weeks ago we were forced to play a 17 year old goalkeeper against Cove because of players isolating, Gallacher was able to return last week against Montrose and so played yesterday. Goalkeeper Smith I assume was still isolating last week and possibly this week as well. I do think he is a better goalkeeper than Gallacher but the defence in front of them doesn’t help either of them.

I thought he was good at the Fife and seemed to be getting the goals in?
Aye, I forgot he was signed by Falkirk. He’s probably better being loaned to Arbroath the way things seem to be with the Bairns the now.

Lot of fans liked him but for me he definitely wasn’t a penalty box striker and for the size of him I can’t remember a headed goal of note

Its a bit disappointing to have a game we were winning called off, but then there was a long way to go, and a lot of unfathomably shite defenders playing in our team. Another week for Rennie to get his message and style into the players we have, and another week closer to hopefully several upgrades.

“Game we were winning called off”  Did nobody tell you it was 3-1 East Fife when it was stopped!!!!!!!

Are you trying to say Easton wasn't fouled, when Keiran Millar received his 2nd yellow......

Thought I would watch the highlights before passing judgement but now I am of the opinion that it was not a yellow. Not totally blaming the referee but I think that considering the amount and point of contact on Easton, for him to jump with both legs together and fall like a sack of spuds was out and there was only one thought in his mind which was to get Millar a caution.

Yep sounds like he's continuing the same trend with us.

Best player we have had for many years IMO.

One of the things I can remember Easton for was when he was with Forfar he threw himself to the ground clutching his face  when all around except the referee saw that there was absolutely no contact whatsoever, however he succeeded in what he set out to achieve and got his opponent sent off. A very poor example of sportsmanship.

  10. Sorry can’t agree that Alan Newlands is one of the better referees going around the lower leagues, mind you thought that about Andrew Dallas as well and look where he is now. Does he know someone in high places by any chance🤤🤤. Although I would Stress that Airdrie were well worth the three points, as a former referee myself, I thought the ref allowed some obvious fouls to play on ( a new directive from ref bosses not to be picky) and when he blew for fouls he gave them the wrong way. To the guy who got stuck down the front, I am afraid that’s your own young fans to blame for commandeering the back rows.

However Airdrie played some nice football at times and have made themselves a hard team to get the better of. Will be right up there at end of season. Hope the Fife are able to play themselves out the mire though.
