  1. Funny how people see things differently. Personally , I’ve never been so depressed as to the apparent state of affairs at our club than I ever have been in my many years of being a supporter.
  2. Some of that is fair enough but in the old days it was not all that easy to communicate with the fans. Nowadays with social media et cetera communication could not be simpler.
  3. I don’t agree with this. Sure the team on the park is the most important but what kind of club we are is also important. Last season after the takeover we appeared to be becoming a real community club . Now you look at us. The Spiers, Shields, Marshall and Watson resigned. It can be argued that these people were the most “Airdrie minded people “ on the board. It is even rumoured that Ian McMillan has resigned (surely the most Airdrie minded person ever ). Dougie has gone . Rumours of sponsors disappearing. There is clearly a serious problem between the board and the trust . Now I totally agree that every story has two sides to it . It is easy to take a particular view when you are only getting one side. Some of the problems could be explained by hearing the other side. It is easy to understand how fans will form certain conclusions only getting one side . The big problem here is that we are only getting one side . What is left of the board simply does not communicate with the fans in any shape or form . I may be wrong but I do not believe that the resignation of Willie Marshall has ever been announced officially by the board . It is also easily understood that a number of fans will feel that the club is treating them with some contempt. I would be content if the Board started talking to the fans but at the moment that doesn’t look likely. If things continue like this I can see Airdrie playing in front of 200 or 300 fans next season. For my part I have stopped going to matches. I never thought I would say that after 50 years supporting the club. I have not stopped going because of the standard of play on the pitch (I am well used to that by now !) I have stopped going because of the perceived situation behind the scenes and will not be going back until something drastically changes with regard to this like an explanation which shows things in a different light.
  4. Thanks to everyone for the info. I find the whole thing incredibly sad. What are Board up to?
  5. I’ve noticed recently a number of events involving the Trust which are not being held at the stadium . Has that always been the case or is it part of the ongoing rift with the board ? Does anyone know ?
  6. Don’t know if will turn out well but at least it’s a communication to the fans by the Club. The first for a while.
  7. Glad you spoke out Stephen. Some folk don’t like the truth to get in the way of a good story.
  8. According to Stuart Shields (out of his own mouth) at a Trust meeting a few weeks ago he still has his shares.
  9. For the first time in years I haven’t been to the last few matches. It’s not because of the product on the park. I’m used to watching poor teams over the years! It’s because of what’s going on off the park. Like a lot of people I was ecstatic at the takeover by a group of “Airdrie minded people”. Now look at us. All the good guys have gone in unpleasant circumstances. I can’t get over it. A friend gave me a copy of Saturday’s programme. There was no page of news from the Trust. The breakdown of the relationship between the board and the Trust says it all . I know some members of the Trust and they give their time to numerous good causes . The board falling out with them is ridiculous. No doubt I will get over my feelings at some point.
  10. To be honest if I had a relative playing I would be reluctant to go. Every player gets abuse at sometime and if a relative cannot cope with that, he or she should give the game a miss.
  11. Does anyone know if theTrust’s merchandise was back in the Club shop yesterday?
  12. Sorry. Willie Marshall. Unless I misssed there’s been nothing on the o/s.
  13. Diamond Dave, every post you have made since entering this site has been in support of PH and what is left of the Board. You are quite correct in saying that there is a lot of speculation about some of which may well be inaccurate. However, there is one thing that is not open to question and that is the total contempt by the Club in dealing with the fans. There is zero communication. I stand to be corrected in this but I don’t believe the Club have yet told us that a director resigned recently! Would you care to comment on that?
  14. It is widely rumoured that Airdrie have massively overspent on their wages budget even to the extent of 150k. How in the name of goodness could this happen? Did somebody not tell Findlay what his budget was? Who was keeping an eye on it?It’s almost unbelievable. “Amateurish” does not adequately describe it. That’s if it’s true. If it’s not, rant withdrawn!
  15. I’ve just been watching the manager’s post match interview in which he bemoans the standard of our forwards. I have a suggestion for him. There’s a guy at Stranraer called Vittoria who might be worth a look. The decision to let him go is beginning to appear a major blunder. If, as, rumoured, there was a discipline problem, surely that could have been dealt with by a fine rather than kicking him out?
  16. The resignation of Willie Marshall from the Board is just about the last straw for me, a fact which the Club have yet to acknowledge to the fans. I also note that Dougy’s name is no longer shown on the Club site which doesn’t bode well. When I think how happy I was that at last the Board had several Airdrie supporters on it and then look at us now. The 2 Spiers, Shields, Marshall and Watson all gone. I would bet that Ferguson will soon follow. There is something rotten in our Club. Hopefully, Wednesday’s meeting will enlighten us although Willie may be constrained in what he can say. Apart from what’s going on behind the scenes, the Board is treating us with contempt by non communication. I’ve never even seen a picture of PH. Some people think that all that matters is what happens on the park but I don’t agree. I was at hospitality last year and the place was buzzing. I was proud of how hard we were trying to become a community Club. Now look at us. The off the field goings on are more distressing to me than the team ‘s performance . After 50 years supporting Airdrie through thick and thin I am seriously reviewing my position.
  17. Conroy has a year to go at Airdrie but things are somewhat shambolic there at the moment.
  18. This is worse than the Airdrie v Livi thread and that takes some doing!
