    Madness:

Edinburgh Bus Station could be 'lost' over lease decision - BBC News

Edinburgh’s central bus station could be relocated to Ingliston

Edinburgh’s bus station could be forced to relocate after its owners told the city council its lease would not be extended.

Coal Pension Properties, which manages investments for former coal workers’ pension schemes, could look to sell the Elder Street site for housing. The local authority’s tenancy of the transport hub is due to expire in 2027. No replacement site has been identified, but the council’s transport spokesperson admitted the facility could be “lost”.

Councillor Scott Arthur the authority was “considering his options”. He said he was “disappointed that such a modern and well used piece of Edinburgh’s substitutable transport infrastructure may be lost”.

It is understood Ingliston Park and Ride could be used as a temporary measure if the station were to close, though councillors would prefer a site closer to the city centre.

The 18-stance station originally opened in 1957, but closed in 2000 as part of a £50m redevelopment project which also included the Harvey Nichols department store. A row over the fees for operators to use the station briefly threatened its reopening, with plans drawn up to move it to the nearby Waverley Railway Station in order to connect buses with train services. However it became operational again in February 2003 – four months after its initially scheduled completion date.

Seems weird not to just build the flats over the top of the bus station, effectively making the busses underground, like you would imagine it will be semi high-rise anyway.

Controversial here, but I'm not overly unhappy about Josh Edwards going. At the same time, if he signed  new deal I'd be okay with that. He has a good engine, and is rarely injured but his inability to put a decent ball in the box is an issue. He will do it, but for large parts it usually ends up in the stand or out for a throw in on the other side.

If we can get six figures for him then excellent.

The grand plan since the ownership changed was to bring in young talent, improve them and sell them on. We haven't done enough of that.

If Edwards wants to go and the deal is right then I agree it should be done.

24 this year and knocking on the door of 200 appearances for us which isn't half bad.

I drive a lot of hire cars at work and hands down the absolute worst of the lot has been the Crossland * . For some reason as well last year enterprise seemed to only ever send us Crosslands ,heart would sink every time you saw them lined up in the car park, must have had a massive surplus of them . Horrible interior , car feels like it's going to topple over at every turn , terrible UI , absolutely uninspiring from every angle. The Grandland x  is almost bearable to drive for a while , definitely not been Vauxhall's best range which is a shame as some of their Astra's have been cracking fun to drive and the Insignia is a bit of hidden gem as well.

    * Not the actual worst , that has to go to the Duster which I realise bookends this thread pretty well . Only ever had to drive one from Perth to Motherwell and it was easily the worst car journey I've ever had . Nasty interior , gearstick felt like it wasn't even attached to anything and the horrible seat/steering wheel/ handbrake layout nearly undone 2 years of chiropractic work in the space of an hour.

It does genuinely feel like they have put an astra body on like monster truck style body, way to big and tall given the inside of it is just a normal car.

Speaking of enterprise hire car contracts, boys at my work who had them every week would always ask for an automatic and because they didn't have many in Scotland you would pay for the lowest band at like £40 a day and they would drive about the country in the highest band cars which as almost exclusively auto. Dunno if this hack still works for their corporate contracts.

    Even better. A Vauxhall Crossland.

Good luck drove one for one day as a hire car, vile thing to drive. Basically an astra on stilts you would be much better off with an astra estate.

Crossland should also get them done under trade description act, thing was unstable on road nevermind off-road.

Everything will be tracked and measured individually by 30+ cameras, so a model simulation of the game will take place a fraction of a second slower than the real thing, and they can use that model to show everyone's position the exact moment the ball leaves a players foot.

How many cameras do sky use when they cover a Scottish game? Must be less than half that.

I know it was the Beeb/Premier Sports but I thought it was poor they didn't have one of those top down cameras suspended above the pitch for the semi finals.

After the host club takes off 15% for costs of hosting the game 50% of the gate is sent to the SPFL and the remainder is presumably kept by the host team since the SPFL rules don't mention splitting the gates.

HMRC will grab 20% before anyone else has their hand out.

This has to be a joke? Surely we haven’t got an award named this. Did they explain what this actually means?

The audio in the room was bad, but I'm fairly certain that was the name of the award or something very similar.

Basically the award the club (?) gave to the player who best represented their new ethos of living true sportsmanship.

They did give a bit of an explainer, basically a UEFA style fair play award from what I could make out.

Seeing pics of Hamilton and Otto with rewards from yesterday. Does anyone know the breakdown of all the awards?

Player of the Year - Chris Hamilton

Young Player of the Year - Ewan Otoo

Players Player of the Year - Chris Hamilton

Living Sportsman of the Year - Kyle Benedictus

Management Player of the Year - Josh Edwards

Goal of the Year - Lewis McCann vs Queens Park

PST Player of the Year - Ewan Otoo

Academy player of the year - Ewan McLeod

The Player and Young Player of the year might be the other way round, too much beer was had.

  9. Two poor teams but at least Queens had some intensity. We looked like we had been on the beers all afternoon. Mehmets save in the second half was excellent nice to see him make it stick, I have been critical that he has palmed too many into the danger area but that was good. Holmes I'm afraid just isn't the answer, completely froze when he had a great chance to collect the lose ball at the edge of the Queens D, this level looks beyond him and I would much rather see Sutherland given some experience.

It was widely rumoured that Mehmet was one of our larger contracts when he was signed by Grant, now he's signed a new one since then but I wouldn't guess that he's taken a deduction

Would it not be possible he has taken a reduction in exchange for long term stability? At his age I would have thought so. Again no one will know other than him his agent and the club, but it wouldn't surprise me.

I think someone to challenge him for the starting slot would be ideal, basically someone with more experience than Little.

I wonder if we might see Cammy Kerr come in to replace Miles and compete with Comrie as a more traditional RB rather than KRH or MOH slotting in.
