A full pre season and no hideous injury lists will be a huge bonus

Other than Miller Fenton, who I think is actually out of contract, am I right in thinking everyone is fit going into the summer?

I'm sure the last update on Comrie and Wighton was that they were running. If so you're right that having everyone available to get that core fitness and squad drills in early doors is key.

Feel exactly the same, I think it's an area we'll look to add to, not sure if he think's Welsh-Hayes could be that guy or if he'll be available but I'd sooner have him than Kerr. One player that really caught my eye on Saturday was the boy Alex Samuel. A complete nuisance of a striker, built like a tank. Maybe not overly prolific in front of goal but I thought he was good, and has been good any time I seen him this season. Sure he scored two at Starks against Raith.

I thought he looked like a poor version of Jakubiak tbh.

Slightly off topic but he’s ruined enough of our games over the last couple of years, great to see Craig Napier getting called out by Motherwell players/management for being the little p***k that he is. Him and Colin Steven are 2 referees who I automatically assume will make the game worse with their officiating.

Whilst I agree he is a poor official.

Kettlewell has lost the run of himself over this. Claims that Napier sprints over to give the red card when he clearly calmly walks over. Claims anyone who has played the game would have given a yellow, when Napier has played football. Also claims he was dishing out cards all game, when only 3 cards were given.

By all means criticise the referee but at least keep it legitimate and honest. It was also clearly a red card.

I think that something like this could work but it relies on the three behind the main striker chipping in with goals, or having a centre forward who can score 15-20 goals on their own.

That still has the likes of Chalmers, the youngsters from the reserves etc as other options should we change things. It isn't much of a change from the 3-4-2-1 McPake seems to prefer but means that Ritchie-Hosler can get further up the pitch, we don't need to rely on full backs for width and it gives Todd a settled position and role.

I think this would be excellent next season, maybe with Cammy Kerr offering Comrie some competition?

However I think that third midfield option, essentially replacing Allan has to be a robust combative midfielder, because when both Hamilton and Otoo have been out the team we have had no control of the midfield.

There's no player in the team that I dislike so much that if they don't get punted I'd stay away, what if like to see is far better summer recruitment.

This. We are in the second tier of Scottish football we will always have a jobber or 2 in the squad. Hence the P&B Jobber Fund (temporarily supporting the meteorological rise of Mr Andrew Tod Jrn.)

Would need to be a Goodwillie type situation for an individual player to make me stay away from the ground. But each to their own their cash after all but I do think it's a strange place to draw a line.

I think the things that offend the eyes the most for me is a gilet/body warmer, suits and bucket hats.

No doubt some will disagree on suits.

Ill fitting suits do look ridiculous, especially if it's too big you can easily end up looking like that girl singing by some graveside funeral in Glasgow. Not the look.

agreed had we still had someone like Ross McArthur or Kip McBay or whomever in charge?

Problem with that is no one wanted to do do the job on a voluntary basis.

We were exceptionally lucky to have McArthur at the helm for so long and I still find it completely ridiculous the antics the very small minority got up to in the run up to him leaving.

Its also concerning that we have good defenders, but none of them can play well on a consistent basis without Benedictus there, apparently.

I think this is really key and whilst I totally get having Fisher and potentially MFW next year them and Breen don't really have the experience or maybe the confidence to marshall the defence.

So with that in mind do you say actually we have enough young defenders at the club, not look to bring in MFW and get an experienced player in instead? It's a difficult one for me.

Probably where you want a more vocal and commanding GK and CM to balance out a youthful backline.

Hosler and Todd are probably our only genuine match winners? The ones that can create or get us a goal with a bit of magic but they are stifled by the system the manager adopts.  He needs to fix that

this season has been brutal to watch. To be fair so was last year but masked because we were winning

For Hosler I do think if he could be encouraged to run onto the ball more often (obviously players need to play good balls into the channels) but he seems to prefer a ball into feet every time which doesn't help stretch the game and attack quickly.

However he is obviously so much better wide in an attacking 3 that should only play RWB in an emergency.

I hope McPake has the courage to admit that some of his contract extensions were wrong, and tell these guys to find another club. (again I’m not naming players as I don’t want to spend time arguing and explaining myself)

Any prudent manager would be starting next seasons campaign on May 6th by fixing the obvious frailties our team has shown this season.

Hopefully he learns from those mistakes as well and doesn't repeat them.

I also hope next year we have a smarter use of the loan market other than MFW and MWH the others haven't been up to scratch consistently. Obviously it can be a bit of a gamble using the loan market but having so many players who don't enhance your squad is poor. I really don't see, for instance, why Brad Holmes is here when we also recalled Taylor Sutherland.

Did the TV cameras get the on-field pavement dancing? Looked like one of the Airdrie fans took offence to the pitch invasion and started swinging.

Multiple cop cars and vans now arrived and several more passing me as I head back to the station!

Not really, looked like a few united fans getting taken away by the police. Could be Airdrie fans that had gone onto the pitch right enough. Strange one.
