  1. Norway have won less than half of their games over the last WC qualifying, Nations League, and Euros campaigns (9/19). The odds that they win the next 4 games aren't great.

In the WC qualifiers, they had four games against Turkey and Netherlands and didn't win 1.

By the looks of it, they haven't beaten a pot 1 or 2 side in qualifying since 2015, when they beat Croatia 2-0 at home in Euro 2016 qualifying.

If they go on and win their next four games, fair play to them, but with or without Haaland, they've shown rime and again that they don't turn up and beat good teams in big matches.

Anyone know when he last lost the ball?

Last night, someone fizzed a shite ball to him, no right to get near ot, but the thing stuck to his toe instantly and he flicked it off to a team mate. Must be class having players like that next to you, making everyone look better throughout the game.

Best brain and touch in the world's best national team...definition of world class.

Pretty sure he tried a long through ball early on that either went off for a corner or went to the keeper but still, he rarely ever gives up possession.

There was cone fairly innocuous pass about 20 mins in where he switches it across to Kieren Tierney but it was just ridiculously perfect. Perfect weight, perfect direction. Tierney just had to stick out his foot and we were off down the left.

Had the same thought you did. It must be such a pleasure to play beside someone who makes things so easy for his team mates.

  3. Proper big team performance from us tonight. Just ruthlessly put some useless minnows to the sword on their own patch within 30 minutes and play out the rest of the game without giving a shit or breaking sweat.

The fact that Spain felt the need to put 7 past Georgia just shows their wee team mentality and inferiority complex next to us.

  4. Listened to Craig Levein's thoughts ahead of this game on the BBC Scottish Football podcast. Apparently it's going to be hot and that will be an issue but we should deal with it, and we'd be better if we had a world class striker like Haaland.

Riveting stuff. So glad I could benefit from big Craig's expertise here. No idea why he never cut it as an international manager.

  5. Never been bothered by the Engalnd women's team before but watching and listening to some of the pish up to and including this game, it was very pleasing to see them get pumped. Spain were much better and really should have won by more if they were a bit more ruthless in the box. Made England look like a bunch of farmers.

It is a joint bid, and it is going to work because we're getting the tournament. I don't know why we would then choose to not have ourselves named as co-hosts and to get the benefits which come with that.

I wouldn't put it past the SFA brains trust.

If it's set up the same as the Women's World Cup you wouldn't have to travel between one country and the other unless you made the final.

So Scotland fans would definitely have to travel between two countries then.

  8. A lot of positives to take from yesterday's game. Queen's Park absolutely created enough chances to win the game in the 90, particularly in the first half, but they didn't take their chances. And from our point of view, we won't face anyone with the attacking talent Queen's have in L2 this season. Page and Easton had a wobble or two in the first half but aside from that, looked impressive. We could even have nicked it in the 90 if we'd just let the ball bounce into the net instead of someone (couldn't see who from the highlights) prodding the ball in and getting flagged for offside.

Of the new signings, I thought Sean Docherty had a very impressive competitive debut, Brian Easton looks like the kind of experienced centre half we've been crying out for in recent times, and Gregor Nicol played very well, although it was definitely a game for the more defensive players to shine.

Don't want to read too much into one League Cup game but that's got to give everyone at the club a bit of confidence for the season ahead.

There's a big interview with Caledonian Braves boss Ricky Waddell in the Herald today, where he argues Colt teams should be able to get promoted.

Now. Aside from the obvious reaction to this (GTF) I would also like to point out this line that caught my eye. From talking to people around DFC, Rangers were apparently quite surprised by the lack of interest and crowds. It's why they had to post pictures from angles that didn't show the stand on social media posts about the B team.

How about. Instead of having Rangers B fannying about in the league, Caley Braves played someone like Pollok on the last day of the season. A proper club, with their own ground and their own fans. If it's bigger crowds he's wanting at games, then he's looking for first teams in the league. Not B teams.

Not a surprise at all either than nobody turns up to watch a team in an Old Firm kit when there's no chance of them lifting a trophy at the end of the year either, eh?

If we're deciding where teams go based on number of fans then Caley Braves can f**k off down to the lower levels of the WoSFL where they belong.

Nothing negative in my post at all. Look at Switzerland's record in qualifying and appearances at major tournaments in the last 20 years.

I'm enjoying the moment for the National Team.... But if you think we're anywhere near them you're kidding yourself.

Yes, how could we hope to compete with Switzerland given that they got to the knockout stages of the world cup back in 2006 when none of the players playing then are still around?

There's no doubt whatsoever that Switzerland have been much better than Scotland over the past 20 years and I'd still put them ahead of us now but if you're comparing the current strength of the two teams, I think it's overly pessimistic to say we're nowhere near them.

Wales have a very good recent qualification record and they're fucking dog shit.
