If so, full credit to the lino for being correct and being willing to say such. Extra credit for the ref being willing to take the time to listen and not having too big a heid to listen.

I looked at the challenge again, this time to see exactly where the ref was. He was almost completely blocked by the body of the player being tackled from seeing Murray’s lunge, while the Lino had a near perfect view. For as much as we complain about game officials, that was spot on.

As an ex ref myself, I fully agree with you. We were always told we were the third team on the pitch and if the ref chooses to ignore his assistants as many do, they are just making their job harder and reducing the quality of decision making. The added advantage for the ref in this case is that if the decision is wrong he can always blame his assistant……..

. One solution I think would be to give Celtic fans the top tier of the Broomloan and have a buffer strip of empty seats along the first few front rows, marshalled by police. Before people say it wouldn’t work, it works perfectly fine in England - an example being Sunderland away at Newcastle.

You would think that would be sensible, however I can still clearly remember sitting in the lower tier with the h*ns above and being subjected to all manner of objects being thrown down, including pish in crisp packets. You’d think it would be worse having the away fans up there. That’s not a dig at Celtic fans btw.

Aw f**k i forgot, it's one of those horrible plastic pitches Killie play on, should be banned from the top flight, never seen a good game played on one. Hopefully you've watered it sufficiently for us to be able to play our silky soccer on it.

I hope no one gets hurt today, I’ve heard these plastic pitches are dangerous.

seriously tho’, it’ll be interesting seeing how the ‘superior ‘ grass pitches hold up today given the weather.

Absolutely nothing to do with club , Michael designed the strip himself with O’Neils no club input whatsoever

All the more amazing. How stupid is he that thinking putting that monstrosity on an Ayr strip would be ok. Did he not stop to think how much money he is going to lose because of it, as I assume the bulk of any sales will go straight into his bank account. Crazy decision that will undoubtedly cost him hundreds of pounds. What an own goal.

The Championship is Doms ceiling, he has the talent to play at a higher level but his professionalism/attitude has put paid to that. KRH is a breath of fresh air in that he has the right attitude to go with his talent.

He might not be better than Thomas at the moment, but he'll achieve more in his career, and hopefully make us a decent wedge in the process.

    Fully agree with this.

Thomas has tried and miserably failed in the top league with Motherwell and Killie. He never at any time showed he could hack it there, possibly due to his mentality. He simply just wasn’t good enough. If he has finally screwed the nut he might make it third time lucky but I doubt it. As already said, he has found his level.

I'm new to Pie and Bovril and not very confident in posting yet but I'm a Celtic fan (I was raised in Helensburgh both grandparents east end of Glasgow men, one of whom was part of the construction of the new Celtic Park, both brought me up loving Celtic although I stopped watching football in my teens because I got into nerdier stuff and it was 2012 I got back to my roots and became a fully fledged Celtic fan as in following all the games, scores religiously and so on (no pun intended). Just saying all that useless shit because I've seen people on here say "why don't you support your local team?" and so on and want to circumvent that because both my mother and father's sides of the family have close affiliation with Celtic in some capacity - again, sorry I'm new, just want to be transparent and get any potential whataboutery out of the way.

Anyway that said: We were absolute rank rotten today. Celtic could have played for 5 more years and still not scored. I was never really keen on Rodgers coming back (but that rat patter is needless and just makes us look small time) and it seems like it. After Ange giving us 2 years of magic, full attack, exciting, swashbuckling football, Brendan seems almost the reverse - pedestrian, ponderous, side-to-side arsepicking. We're fortunate I think that Rangers have made a howler of a managerial appointment themselves but Brendan to me seems like a huge step backwards and he doesn't suit this young exciting team. But Kilmarnock: you were absolutely tremendous and I think you'll do very, very well this season. Deserved winners today and McInnis is to me a far better manager than he gets credit for.

Forgive this rather messy introductory post in my first foray into the main parts of the forum.

Welcome to P&B. There are only a few decent Old Filth fans on here so hope you buck the trend.

I thought we were excellent from the off. Shades of the 2-3 start and I just worried we wouldn't take our chances when on top, or that we would fall away. But no, we kept the levels at 100 throughout, blood and thunder from every man in the park. We just wanted it more.

Phenomenal to a man. The young boy Will Dennis in goals, shut his critics up. Deas and Findlay, dealt with everything that came in to the box. Mayo, excellent (what about that recovery challenge!), Ndaba, absolutely phenomenal over that side.

Magennis and Watson were superb. Brad Lyons, holy f**k, his best performance in a Killie shirt. If he can find that level every week he will be some player - heart of a lion!

Armstrong was a threat. Watkins, what a shift big man, worked the defence, held it up, and tracked back to his own half for a huge tackle. Kennedy, MOTM, an absolute menace and a pest, NEVER stops working - love him!

Even the subs - Rory had some important stops. Vassell worked his baws off, some lovely touches, near set up a goal. Important work from Murray, and even big Cameron came on and did a job.

As for Rangers, they are absolute muck. Raskin is a wee fanny who would rather dive about and start scraps. Goldson, Barisic, Souttar, complete shite at the back. As for the new boys upfront, dunkeys all of them.

If we can find that level every week I have no concerns about this season whatsoever!!

It’s never easy following Killie but , Jesus Christ, when it all comes together it’s fucking magic. This is what it means to follow a Diddy Team.

Would anyone else be shocked if Charlie Mulgrew rocked up at Somerset now? Good pals with McGeady and I think he’s been told he can leave Dundee United. Not really a position we’re short in but he can cover left back and play in midfield I’m sure.

That would be a seriously bad decision. Word from Arabland is that he’s done and was a major disruption within the club. They cite him as one of the reasons they got relegated. Don’t touch him.

  9. 1965. Best year in our history. Scottish champions.

Towards the end of that season this young 8 year old and his pal were taken to Rugby Park for my first game  by my dad. It was only a reserve game against Morton and we played on the bing slope behind the terracing for most of the game. Dad wasn’t impressed when I asked him what the score was when we were walking home after the game. I honestly hadn’t a clue and hadn’t an interest.
I began following Killie in 1967 and witnessed the almost terminal decline of the club after this, not realising on the importance of what I had missed out on until many years later.

Another reply is that my very first game was the League Cup final against Falkirk in the 50s. Apparently it was a cold and miserable day but I was warm as toast albeit with the worst view in Hampden. My mum was very pregnant but couldn’t miss the biggest game she had experienced.  Goes to say I have no recollection of any of this.

When I finally saw us actually winning something in 1997 I was probably more emotional than most.

The beauty of following a wee diddy team……."

A Pat Crerand v Billy Bremner and Jack Charlton v Denis Law boxing double bill would have been tasty!

The first two would have been brilliant, two wee west of Scotland hard men, but the other two would have talked so much they would have got bored.

From the photo, it looks tasty and would have resulted in 3 -4 red cards after VAR, but I bet the ref let them all off with a stern talking to.

    Common sense.
