am sure I speak for all airdrie fans when I say that our aim is to avoid the relegation play offs. Any promotion play offs are not even in our sights.

Absolutely- of course I want to go every game with the belief we can take something from it. The reality is I don’t see Dundee Utd as our fight this season - i expect them to win it based on the limited games I’ve seen so far.

I see surviving the first season as the priority and that means winning or taking as many points as we can at home and against teams who may be in the bottom half of the mix with us. We’re still building this side and style (and appreciate not everyone likes the way we play) but it’s done us well so far.

I was genuinely fearful going into that game missing so many players in midfield and then losing Deano so early but they did really well.

Would have preferred not to concede the comedy 2nd. But at that point, 1-0 or 2-0, it didn’t really matter. I didn’t see us equalising.

Yes there are signs telling you you are entering the restricted zone.

If you get there in decent time there should usually be no bother south of the ground Dens Rd, Isla St, Main St, Mains Rd, Canning St.

As for the game I think Airdrie would be making a mistake going toe to toe. Defence isn't our problem, its creativity.

Obviously Arbroath and Ayr are stinking but they barely managed a shot between them.

Thanks - appreciate the advice. I don’t think we know how not to go toe to toe. It’s McCabeball and we don’t go into any game to sit back or let the other team control things. Looking forward to this one. Been years since I visited Tannadice.

You should probably check the Council website as there are new parking restrictions around Tannadice on match days and they're being enforced quite rigorously.  There's plenty of on street parking just don't get too close to the ground.

Is there signage that tells you where the restrictions are or is just a case of - drive a few blocks away and you should be OK?

Really looking forward to tomorrow. Expecting a tough match and you can add me to the list of people who think Airdrie will do well this season. Airdrie have been building up to this promotion for a few seasons and it’s hardly as if they fluked their way up.

Supposed to hate these c***s but the Airdrie fans on here seem to be brand new.

10 years in league one humbles you 🤣

Just need to get if of my chest before I go to bed but🤣 Justin devenny situation is really annoying me, see if your not gonna play him and he’s on the verge of a move away why even put him on the bench? It’s obvious he’s not gonna play either stick or sell him. And it probably was a penalty but it doesn’t help that gal missed an open goal from 2 yards out either, can’t be blaming the ref every week for not getting results in this league, got to take your chances.

This was also me. Although I think the term i used was sh*t or get off the pot 🤣

I'm in the minority of our support who totally get the passing it out and around at the back. Yeah I get that there will be occasional mistakes but I think that it's worth persevering with. The one who was most uncomfortable with it when Dunfermline were pressing us was ATS purely because he's so laborious with possession.

My main positive take from today was McMaster when he came on to replace McCabe. I thought he was magnificent in possession, very composed and more than happy to draw a couple of players towards him before making a pass. I'd be perfectly happy to see him starting games.

I have a love/hate relationship with it. I’m not against it but as Watson said, it’s about knowing when to do it and when not to. And if it’s not on, what is our game plan then?

I don’t think anyone has suggested the Club are not trying to bring in players, if they have then that’s nonsense. A lot has been said about how we approach it, especially our defence but the options are limited and none are great.

Pay over the odds and be aware this could include the cost of a loanee.

Wait and wait and get left with the shite.

Or unearth an unknown gem from ????

I shudder to think how we’d get on if Fordyce or Ballantyne get injured and the Devenny situation needs brought to a head as well. It gets real on Saturday and whilst we can field a decent 11  it’s not improved since finishing 3rd last season.

Yeah the JD situation is getting a bit annoying. We’re clearly keeping him wrapped in cotton wool but it’s dragging out now and he’s a player that can add a lot to a game, so frustrating to see him just sitting on the bench when he could be contributing. Even though we have a good idea why.

  8. Completely understand why people would have Airdrie as favourites to go down. I genuinely don’t know what to expect myself this season. I do think we’ll surprise a few teams and happy to be underestimated. Mainly hope we don’t get off to a stinking start and need to play catch-up. Happy to finish 8th 🤣

I try not to panic too much about league tables until after January.

I thought Aiken did really well, competed better physically than I expected and while the final pass isn’t quite there yet, he looks like a good option to have around. A very small sample size but I think he’ll be a better fit than Stanway.

100% agree with you here. That was my takeaway on him from today. Just needs a little more game time and I think he’ll really come on. Lots of battle and fight out there today which gives me optimism.
