  1. I got a message via email about this one, not sure if it was to folks that asked the question or to all season ticket holders. Its copied word for word in my previous post I genuinely feel sad having to write these things and the club has stepped forward. Lots of good things happening but really.... VAT, Min Wage and cant attract sponsors is the reason, sounds like a finger in the air decision and hope for the best. I think they have forgot the lifeblood of the club, the paying fans, We too have paid more VAT, perhaps not had a wage increase and still turn out for the club.... and to word the email as a "Small Increase" is embarrassing. 27%-40% cant be classed as a small increase. Perhaps I will go ask my boss for a small increase in wages tomorrow, can only try
  2. Our Season Tickets are now on sale. With regard to the price increase for next season, we could not sustain the ever increasing costs to the club without a small increase as it was 2008 when the last increase on adult prices took place. During the last 9 years VAT has increased, the minimum wage has gone up and all other services have significantly increased in this time, whilst it has become increasingly difficult to attract investment to the club. We will always try to keep our prices as low as we can where possible. Yours in Sport, The Board of Directors – East Fife Football Club Nothing above changes why such a large increase, as said before I could handle say 10% not 27%, nothing above justifies that. Sorry I am PATG next year for the games based on where I sit. VAT increased in 2011 to 20% - 6 years ago. Minimum wage went up this year and has increased by 4% Investment to the club, eh why are the fans having to take on that burden, its the directors that should be attracting the sponsors and more fans to the ground etc. Others can have their own views.
  3. Agree with you I have also sent an email to the club, if increases like this want to be put through why not consult with the supporters club, then put it back to the fans, most honest fans will agree to a little rise, I wish my wages had went up 27% last year in line with this....
  4. We all know that the directors are on this forum, waiting to hear what they have to say. The EFSC should have had wind of this and the reasons why as well. I don't see one bit of positive news about this on here, Facebook and Twitter. This pricing is an absolute joke and no-one as of yet has had the balls to say why they think it can be justified. There is no way I am renewing my tickets for next year based on this.... [emoji35]
  5. Why are there such steep increases. Here are last years prices... We are a 2 parent and 1 kid group, last year I paid £180 for 1 parent and child and £162 for 1 adult. Next season I will have to pay £270 for parent and child and £200 for an adult. So a jump from £342 to £470 or increase of 27%.... that's ridiculous If we go up then perhaps I can see it, but what about if we go down....
  6. Would have taken 2 points out of the games coming up, already at 3 and a chance for 6......need to get the contracts out for next season now
  7. Thanks Smuggfifer, we actually have 3 folks travelling already so will have to decline.
  8. I will be leaving from Laurencekirk to the game on Sat and there are 2 free seats available for any local fans wanting to travel up.
  9. Agree with above, players look up for it under Smith. You can see some changes in the warm up as well with the 4 defenders heading as a team and stepping in/out to get the ball. Smith also has a pair of lungs and the players get told a lot more what to do. So far I am well chuffed with Smith and I am sure he can take us to the play off's and then the roll of the dice from there. One thing I dont know that needs discussed is if we do manage to go up will we go full time or not ? also would like to see some of the key players on contracts ASAP for next year - Gary got the players tied up early last season and that is serving us well this year.
  10. Lol not really but I have an opinion. Just a fan that wants to see the club kick on, if that's wrong then I will apologise.......
  11. Agree with above, the club need to do more in the communication of what is actually going on rather than saying no-one else is leaving.... even if it's that we are not getting any more players. That way the fans can judge how ambitious we are or not if the case may be, also factor in we got some money for Mercer leaving. If the board don't have money be honest about it, if they are going to try and get more players in then say. I also think there should be a weekly interview with the gaffer on EFTV, talking about the club and not just the game that has finished. That way we can get behind the direction rather than second guessing it, would also include the directors in this above.
  12. Another good point that keeps us going in the right direction, looking forward to the Scottish Cup game against Livy. 1 thing I keep reading is that we are part time and the other full time teams must be better.....settle for a point nonsense, thats not the case there are several teams that have very average players because of this. We on the other hand have very fit and committed players, with a few full time that go back to their feeder clubs. I remember Gary saying that most of the side were at Grade A of fitness (Or something like that) thats whats making us strong at this level. Being FT is not a requirement at this level because the average gates wont cover the costs, 880 ish at a 10,000 seater stadium would back this up from yesterday. Hope Barry brings in another 3 players from his connections and we could finish in a play off position.... then who knows, but it would be a great season if we did.
  13. Should be the boost the side needs to build on last 2 games. Will be along Sat to welcome Barry to Bayview.
  14. The other factor is I hope Gary does not come back to look at some of our players. I am sure Kevin, Kyle and Johnny may be on his radar. That would be a disaster if the board take the cash again........got to get the contacts out now for next year even before the new guy takes charge.
  15. I personally think a Player/Manager would be a good option but striker rather than defender so he has a different outlook for the team. Important decision the board need to make but I really think they wont be short on candidates applying with being in the 1st Div rather than 2nd Div. The killer question will be what cash he gets or it wont make a jot of difference who we get if we have to run with the same size of squad with a Left Back missing. I am currently out of the country and wont make the replay and that really pisses me off because Gary deserves a large send off and we hopefully win allowing the next manager a crack at Livi in the next round. I await to find out what our next chapter looks like...... he will also get my full support.
  16. All I have to say is all the best to Gary and Dougie. I hope that we get a wee bit money from the guys going that is given to the new manager.
  17. What a difference a week makes, a few changes to the side. Kevin back on the left - huge impact until he tired late on in the game. Kyle dropping deeper allowing a chance to see things appear in front and then get it forward at the right time, Scott playing a wee bit more forward so offered options. Pat back adding grit into the midfield and yes Kane in defence was excellent. Off course Jamie up front will always deliver at this level and I would expect him to grab over 20 goals for us this season. Not just singling out these lads but the whole team looked better on Sat which is the most pleasing thing. Not sure if Mercer is carrying an injury he is not showing the same way as he did last season, don't get me wrong he was Ok but was giving the ball away a little too easy for me at times. But how can I really be miffed, EF in a play off place and having lost to the 2 teams that are 1st and 2nd I would take that any day of the week. Things are looking good for Fife but we lack strength from the bench and a few injuries to key folks show that we need more depth to support the natural 1st team. I hope Gary can add 1 or 2 more between now and Jan.
  18. HMMM We all have opinions and I would ask who you thought was the worst on Saturday if Kane was not? The comments about the other 5 players are all constructive about where they are showing weakness. I am far from doom and despair but if players are not cutting it then we need to voice the opinions on what the fans are seeing. Insall is a great energetic player he will do well in this league and IMO higher leagues we are lucky to have him. I genuinely think we have a side that can make the play off's if we change a couple of things about the side and remove the individual errors. I am behind Gary Home & Away he will sort this out, but he does have to make 2 or 3 changes about the side in order to do this. PS I did say Home and Away but sorry Alloa it cost me, the good lady and son £40 on Sat to get in and thats just too much money, we wont be back unless the prices are reduced. I even emailed the office in advance but got no reply.....
  19. Alloa dominated the game ESP in 1st half, IMO they stepped off the gas in the second half and allowed us to think we can match them. In truth they had at least 1 more gear that we never seen. Chris Kane is a liability misplaced passes that led to a goal from the free kick, Scott Robinson also had a howler and Mark Lamont has been posted missing since the 2nd league game. Dont understand why Scott took the penalty when we have Jamie back, I would have bet more on him scoring than Scott. Defence looked shaky in 1st half as well and Jason Kerr is being struggled off the ball too often by eager strikers, happened in 3 different games that have led to goals this season already. Scott Mercer only having 1 foot along the manager is another issue they want to shift it to the preferred foot and allowing people to pressure then and get the ball, or force it back or out of play. Lastly on the negatives our keeper truly is rubbish, every time the ball comes in a fear a goal, positioning for 2nd goal yesterday was terrible and got no where near the ball. Additionally pass backs result in poor clearances and I cant wait for Hurst to come back, it can only be better. OK enough of the negs, positives for me are Kyle is looking sharp, finds space when there is none and looking for a few goals soon, Jamie coming back added grit and pace up front that meant we won the ball more often up front, lastly with Kevin Smith coming back soon I think things will improve almost overnight. Jordfan also looked sharp when he came on and for me I would have had him up from with Jamie from the start. I do think we need a couple more players so hope Gary can recruit from the unsigned market or if the board hope we can get to Jan then we will be out of the running by then for a play off place. We are a good side with a few players making some mistakes that are costing us badly just now, lets see what the next month shows and hopefully Gary can kick on.
  20. Wish Stoney well, he was a strong player for us and thats all that matters.
  21. Yes know about the dates, any 4 from the 5 dates though will be active for any club. Want to know what grounds on what dates.
  22. Anyone got any idea how many season tickets have been sold, be good to know if they are up on last year based on being in the higher league. Also when do we get to know about the venues and dates we will play in the cup games in July.
  23. Thanks guys I can see the 15 now, going to need at least 3 more and perhaps loans
