The guys fitness level (for most of his career) has been outstanding.  I always remember hearing a story about John, that once each season was done, he'd indulge in a Big Mac and a glass bottle of Irn Bru...... then straight back on the health kick.

I dont know what coaching badges or qualifications the guy has at all, but its refreshing to hear a different name being mentioned.

That McDonald’s and irn bru story is 100% true. Some dedication!

Hoping we stay with Umbro as the three kits last season were bang on the money. The home jersey particularly with the black trim was absolutely a thing of beauty and easily my favourite in many years if not decades.

Also an added bonus with Umbro was the professionalism of them and FN Teamwear getting the kits out nice and early, none of this players wearing last season's kit for a couple of months and bring able to buy them before Christmas.

I’ve heard there’s a strong possibility we’re still with Umbro next season, so fingers crossed it’s right enough!

Watson in should shore up that back line , 3 of thier goals came from RB.

Dunfermline had chances against QP , ones we would be taking...hopefully.

Not being complacent at all but if we play the best we can and score half of what we scored on Saturday we will be in a good place!

And remember Dunfermline were down to 10 men too for the entire 2nd half just about.

Just watched last seasons play off semi final highlights against cove.

Didn’t even realise that Dean Ritchie played that game. No disrespect to him obviously but if that was our midfield then, then we have a great chance this year.

I’m sure he got subbed on after Paton went off injured. And then got subbed off at half time.

I don’t think I could handle another emotional rollercoaster like that 2nd leg again this year in the playoffs 😂

It may be better for him financially in the short term but I reckon that with them being an absolute basket case of a club just now it could damage anyone's long term career prospects. You'd have to be financially destitute or an absolute nutter to consider them as an employer.

And he will have learned from the past. Two words, Saint Mirren.

Is anyone else concerned that we enter a kind of ‘cold war’ period for a few weeks while we wait for playoffs? A chance that the players lose an edge.

No, I think I’ll be the opposite. Imagine we missed out on the title by a 93rd minute Cove equaliser or winner away to East Fife on the last game of the season. The players would be going into the playoffs 3 days later feeling like a burst baw.

Might well be the case mate - like I say, was a best guess, based on info I’ve accumulated over the years.

Would make sense if Frizz was FT/Walker was PT - assumed Ritchie stayed FT following his release from Hearts and was under the impression Allan had a good job out with football, meaning he’s PT but I may well be wrong!

Think the general split is right though.

I was just guessing too but I think you’re pretty much spot on. I’m sure Ritchie coaches with Hearts youth set up, same sort of structure that Dale Carrick had when he was with us.

I’ve never seen it formally confirmed anywhere, but my best guess would be that it’s broken down as follows…

    Full-time:
    Jay Cantley
    Callum Fordyce
    Josh Kerr
    Luke Lyons
    Scott Walker
    Dylan Easton
    Rhys McCabe
    Matty McDonald
    Dean Ritchie
    Salim Kouder-Aissa
    Gabby McGill
    Callum Smith

    Part-time:
    Max Currie
    Craig Watson
    Scott Agnew
    Adam Frizzell
    Jordan Allan
    Callum Gallagher
    Pat Pyott

My understanding is that the PT guys join the FT guys for training sessions on the Tuesday and Thursday evening.

I’d definitely say it’s the way to go at this level and have seen a massive difference since we switched.

Bear in mind as well that we only adopted it in 2018/19 - so before Ian Murray joined and originally with more PT guys than FT. As I said before, even though I think it’d be a sensible move for Falkirk, it will take time - it’s getting the balance, getting the right players and to get all that, getting the right manager.

I think Ritchie and Walker are PT, and Frizzell and Alan are FT.
