Brilliant night.
Only frustration is Rae getting himself needlessly sent-off, I've been impressed with him overall but a few times this season he has come charging out and risking everything. When you are 5-1 up and risking a 2 game suspension, just stay on your line and make him beat you.
I see Hamilton got an emergency loan in yesterday so presumably we can. With Dabrowski now back at Hibs does that mean they might let Johnson come back? Presume he drops down to 3rd choice behind him, and even if 2nd choice you'd think playing in a pressure play-off tie is better for him than sitting on the bench.
Think it’s only a 1 game ban for a professional foul

Will there be a live stream for this?

I guess they are probably struggling to get rid of the home kit (I wonder why?) but I heard someone mention recently that we’re going back to Joma next season.
Loved that Joma home kit from the 19/20 season. Simple and classy.
No doubt we’ll still be wearing the same red Umbro shorts for a 4th season in a row though

Did we not beat Forfar 6-0 in 2014 in the Gary Bollan era? Might’ve been 5-0 but 6-0 springs to mind!
Just checked, we beat them 5-1. My bad!

I had a quick look back and I think the last time we scored six in a standard league game was when we beat Alloa 6-0 in 2007. I remember Stuart Noble running the show that day. It’s certainly been a long time coming!

In the last 10 years the managers that have won league 1 are;
Allan Johnston
Ian McCall x2
John McGlynn
Dick Campbell
Jim Duffy
David Martindale
Paul Hartley
Do you notice anything in particular with the managers I've listed? Majority of them are all experienced managers and have won trophies/promotions previously with other clubs.
Is the management team learning from their mistakes though? I think most of the posters on this thread understood the 6-0 Edinburgh game for an example but time and time again we completely capitulate.
I'm one of McCabe's biggest fans he was my favourite player last season and I backed the appointment 100% but I think everyone one here will admit the appointment was a gamble.
Even with having a model of a youth academy, young players etc and what you see as a better structure, even if you do get to the Championship, there's no guarantee you would stay there, that league is so competitive even teams like Falkirk, Thistle and Dunfermline have been relegated to this league.
Unfortunately I don't have many decent memories being an Airdrie fan, the only one really being the 2004 league title, my focus would be on getting out of this league no matter what, because we've been jobbing it here for over a decade now.
Here’s a list of managers that blew comfortable leads catastrophically in the latter stages of games in recent years
McCabe - Dunfermline 2023
Findlay - Raith 2018
Wolecki-Black - Peterhead 2015
Notice a pattern? All inexperienced managers…

Every time we play Falkirk I always think “this will be the one they finally turn us over” and we always end up getting a result. But aye, this will be the one they finally turn us over.

I'd imagine we'll get another keeper in on an emergency loan which would take us up to our 6th goalkeeper for the season. Have we had more red cards than goalies this year? As both seem a ridiculously high number
In season 10/11 we got a red card every second game more or less. And that’s no exaggeration! The likes of Stallard, Devlin, and Euen Grant getting sent off near enough every week. According to Wikipedia we had 12 sending offs in the league, so I wasn’t far off in saying we got a red card every second game!

Snap as that's my support history as well. I think he went on to better things at Third Lanark? It's great fun to chat about how we'd like the team to play.
My support history is Kenny Black onwards, some laugh….
Although my first game was when Ian McCall was the manager, and I went to the odd game when Sandy Stewart was in charge. But started going every week during the 08/09 season.

The Morton fans are talking highly of McGregor. Who knows, he might turn out to be a Nicky Cadden type player for us. I’m sure he was only 18/19 when he went to Livingston from us.

He’s signed for Morton. Not sure how he’s getting away with playing for a third Championship side when he was our fourth choice striker in League One not long ago.
Right you are. Not been on Twitter this afternoon, I should’ve checked before posting

Alex Henderson has signed for Glentoran. He wasn't as bad as the number of goals he conceded made him out to be but we don't need four keepers so no real loss. I panicked when it mentioned Ally Roy but he seems to be moving to a Championship team, fair play to him for pulling that off.
Roy’s “championship team” has Accies written all over it I’d imagine.

I'd go further and posit that the current team are considerably weaker than any of the past 3 seasons squads

This transfer window is already as underwhelming and frustrating as the summer one. Still only the start of January mind you, but not holding my breath for any established signings.

Edinburgh are 5/1 today. Are they struck with illness/injury or something?

Should be a good game between THE two biggest clubs in the league..

I still feel nervous when I watch the shootout back again, even though I know we win. Surely I can’t be the only one?!
