Airdrie are full time/hybrid, with Callum Gallagher being the only part time player. Assuming his new contract is still part time. -

Yeah red down the side of the shorts. The official socks for that season were black but we reverted to white socks for the rest of the season until covid ended it. Always wonder how we would’ve got on if covid didn’t end that season as we were 5pts behind the top with 8 games to go. And we still had to play Falkirk and Raith away, and Raith and Falkirk still had to play eachother. We were a bit like 21/22 Queen’s Park that season in terms of being solid enough but not really scoring many goals.

I loved the 10/11 tops too in terms of how they looked. But they were really uncomfortable to wear! They felt really thick and weighted. Managed to pick up a 08/09 Surridge home top from Classic Football Shirts a couple of years ago, in brand new condition! I loved the 09/10 Surridge home shirt too, with the red on the shoulders. Was something different, albeit it was sort of like this seasons home shirt in terms of a broken up diamond!

Was this not meant to be our combo in 21/22 then we lost 3-0 to Montrose wearing it, and it was never seen again after that!

Our Joma home kit from 19/20 was one of my favourites. Wonder what the shorts/socks colour combo for the home kit will be this year. White shorts and red socks is probably my favourite combo for an Airdrie strip! What’s everyone else’s favourite combo?

The saving on petrol every day would come into consideration too. Even if both clubs offered the same wage, things like that can play a major factor. As it must cost £50+ a week on petrol driving from Kirkcaldy to Airdrie 4-5 days a week. £200 a month saving right away!

Raith have just had a takeover. Ayr also lost a player to Raith in Josh Mullin. Ayr are an established Championship club. Plus I believe Smith lives in Kirkcaldy or just outside. So all that to take into consideration too. There’s no need to be concerned, as I trust we’ll make some very good signings of our own!

Mad thing is, the player that was meant to come to us (Afolayan) ended up doing really well at Bolton and then got a £500k move to St Pauli in January there and has scored a few goals for them. That would’ve been Eoghan Stokes if it wasn’t for his injury.
