  1. Not on first name terms with Jackie, Mixu or Jim but think this signing gives us much needed options. May take a few weeks to blend in but could well be the playmaker just behind a front two which would hopefully work for 70% of our games. Dow scores in around one in ten games which can't be bad at this level.
  2. Delighted that his "illness" has cleared up. That aside, not sure where we are with our squad - looks incredibly one dimensional unless we spring a surprise or two/three in the coming hours.
  3. Pleased to see that you have now understood the context of the message. Paternity leave was a convenient smoke screen and entirely unbecoming of the club. Oh, by the way, how long does it take to declare a date for Boyd's testimonial. Have the club found an opposition team or are the testimonial committee still looking for one?
  4. I would be 100% surprised if you were right . "Paternity leave" FFS!
  5. While some deride those who are worried about the start to the season I can safely say we look a long way off being ready for a hard campaign. A lot of drivel has been discussed about who gets a certain shirt number, the limit on subs in these cup games, the early start to the season etc . The hard facts are that this can't be what we had in mind to start the season, we appear to have accumulated a range of functional players which make us entirely predictable - I am hacked off with our ability to take back players who chose to leave us and wander back to us after they have failed elsewhere. How on earth has Boyce retained his place throughout 2016 when we clearly have a better strike force, the loss of Irvine is obviously unavoidable but what was the thinking behind letting Murdoch go, why don't we have a clue what our back 3/4 is on the eve of the season? Worried? Damn right.
  6. It was "red top" language and jars with the serious "analysis" which pours from you.
  7. I am sure young Darren will be encouraged with your clinical "assessment". Cocked up/ Clangers - Jaysus!
  8. Club statement from Rangers = moral high-ground. Looks as if we can expect the same for the next how many years, oh, joy. Sing sectarian songs for 90 minutes and get a bit chippy when a team beats them. Still a total embarrassment to Scotland. Oh, and the Hibs fans who came on the pitch at the end are grade-one fuds.
  9. Bert Trautmann walked off the pitch in distress once after dislodging one .
  10. I sincerely hope that Craig is on the road to recovery, no doubt a full pre-season will supply the answer. IMO he remains the real missing link up front in that he can dovetail with any of the other three (Graham, Boyce or Schalk) which would really enhance our attacking options. Boyce needs space to operate in and, as has been said before, he has missed Craig more than anyone. On a less selfish note the boy is due a run of good fortune after a cruel few months.
  11. I remember Maatsen collapsing in a heap during a match in Dingwall and the ref stopping the game to allow treatment. It turned out that he had dislodged a contact lens. A player less suited to Scottish football would be hard to find. Utter mince -although a touch of Forest Gump nonetheless.
