  1. not read anything on here since before the game on Saturday so may have been said before. i think its obvious really, in both games so far this season...1st half with that shit formation we have been shit...2nd half in both games when we went to a 442, we have looked decent scored goals in both 2nd half performances, Harrisons was a good goal chopped off...start the next game with the 442. not sure if we are giving too many teams too much respect and stopping them play. try to play our way and give them something to think about.
  2. http://www.greenocktelegraph.co.uk/sport/16170216.Versatile_Morton_star_is_happy_to_play_out_of_position/
  3. apparently was RB for us against Airdrie, maybe he is brought in as a RB, or RWB in a 352
  4. I feel some fans may be underestimating how difficult it is for a brand new team to gel Just comparing us to Inverness of last season who did something similar to what we are doing this season...they brought in something like 12 players 7 of them were not from the Scottish leagues, and it took them time to get up to speed and gel. There first quarter results below The next quarter they won 5 of the 9 games which isnt bad Have a look at the final round of games.
  5. Decided to stay away from this until today mainly because I am now at work and can get away with it. Whilst we didnt play great, i reckon we were on par with Inverness. We had the bulk of possession without really troubling their keeper. This was to be expected as when Inverness went 1 up, they would have been happy to sit back and make it difficult for us whilst attempting to hit us on the break. I am taking this as the first "real" competitive game. Anyone that went to the Betfred games could see that Hartley was tinkering (rightly or wrongly, i dont know) Overall im not that fussed, I said a while back that the first 5 games will be grim then we will start to look like a proper team. I would like to think that the Falkirk team in 10 games times would have taken all 3 points. Fasan - could do nothing about the goal and did very well to save us when Austin was clean through Muirhead - not a right back but didnt perform too badly, should be playing centre half Harrison - thought he was solid enough, didnt get raped for lack of pace and won alot of headers Dallison - looked shaky, was at fault for goal and for Austin running clean through, not that impressed so far tbh McGhee - possibly also at fault for goal, cant remember him doing much good but not his natural position Paton - was solid enough without being good, seems like he panics everytime he gets the ball Irving - was one of the best players, able to take a touch and give himself a yard of space, also remember a couple of mazy runs, needs to work on beating first man from corners Petra - can see he has pace and as long as there is a gap behind the defender he should just hit and sprint but never does, with inverness playing deep he had less chance to do this Lewis - not a natural winger, could have scored from our corner but almost looked like he cleared it with his knee...needs time to adapt to the game up here...also need to be up font TOE - lots of times he was furthest forward, needs to get his foot on the ball and make a pass, needed to be alot closer to haber for his knockdowns Haber - looked really good in air, never lost a ball in the 1st half, could be great if we play to his strengths. is able to direct his knockdowns which is useful Subs Greenwood - think he will be starting winger when fully fit, linked up well with irving a few times, done the simple thing of crossing into the box when he had the chance Mackin - never done much when he came on, team for partick reckon it will be 352 for away games, he mentioned a different formation for home and away fasan muirhead harrison mcghee petra paton irving toe robson haber lewis
  6. We should have lined up friendlies against the likes of Clyde so they can get used to the way it is up here
  7. Think Turner was training with us for a few days before he signed, Hartley must have seen something in him as the signing dragged on for a couple of weeks maybe just taking a bit longer to settle down and will 3ventually come good...problem is it’s 6 months so doesn’t exactly have long
  8. Guessing greenwood won’t be starting next week as Hartley was also saying he has lot of hard work ahead of him
  9. Hartley talking about another midfielder coming in
  10. Who know, The Sun says international clearance only...guess we will see come 2pm tomorrow...fingers crossed
  11. Not sure, had it in my head that paperwork and player registration needed to be all done n dusted by 5pm Friday when SFA Offices closed...may have been talking nonsense though.
  12. Great finish to a Friday, not sure if he will be eligible for tomorrow which sucks...choakin on the 4th of August
  13. I agree and im not getting excited until i see it confirmed...think we are all basing this on the Daily Record post
  14. He is either got issues or he is a troll...looking at who he is following, doesnt appear to be any family members an following a few random people...probably a fifer having a laugh
  15. you know with Mackin only being 21...he could be seen as the backup/one for the future to a guy like Haber...its alot of pressure on a 21 year old to lead the line. just watched probably the same video...he does look decent, hope his injury didnt set him back too much
  16. According to Dundee fans, he is quite mobile "when he wants to be"...something mackin isnt
  17. my initial dig into who he was brought up ripped jeans...if he is mobile and stays fit...seems like he could be a good addition. Time to youtube some of his goals now i suppose
  18. without seeing how he plays, 11 goals in 38 appearances for Dundee in the Premiership is a decent record. Up against Championship defenders and play to his strengths, you would assume he could get 15 -20 goals...plus it was Hartley who signed him at Dundee so knows his strengths and weaknesses.
  19. Looks like we are getting him...Will he actually destroy this division or not? ...cant tell if its sarcasm
  20. thanks...is he quite mobile or slow? appreciate he is 6 foot 3 so wont be super speedy but we already have a fat tall guy and dont really want another
  21. Hi Guys...Thoughts on Marcus Haber? apparently coming on loan to Falkirk
