  1. Did not think TOB looked 100% fit. 2nd half was great for us after a poor first when we should have gone behind. Alas a mistake by a very promising loan youngster (we get no sell fee for helping him become a better player), referee and assistants missing sending off offence and we failed to take good chances. Thought Bobby had done all he could when he was subbied and alas Gav is not the answer when pushing for a last minute equaliser. Great to be at a fitba match after 18 months especially before the winds and rains come. Gayfield is looking excellent and praise must go to the Board for this. Come on the Lichties
  2. Good to see the Lichtie fans practicing their moans for the terracing next season. We have survived thanks to fans support, a great management and playing squad with the support of a brilliant board and probably a grant from the Scottish Government. I am sure that the new prices have been worked out to reward previous season ticket holders and provide some of the necessary funds for the season ahead. After 18 months let's try to have a season free of terracing moans when we get back in. Come on Lichties and achieve Dicks dream of Premiership fitba.
  3. Normal service resumed. No goals, no penalties and back to our normal which is not really very good despite the hype. Star striker Dykes has scored 3 of his 4 QPR goals from penalties. Says it all.
  4. Did we have to pay for it or did the well heeled premier league teams pay it?
  5. Think he sees the league as being of most importance. Nae money in cup but survival in championship is his target and also for the fans.
  6. Learning experience - that is why he is at Gayfield on loan.Probably his last one this season as we all know he is a class act and will show it
  7. Given the problems getting everything together I thought there might be teething problems. Despite them I enjoyed the match and look forward to them getting the main camera working and other problems fixed. Top of our group. [emoji16]
  8. Is this not what Anderson gave up to £50k per club for?
  9. Received my afc facemask today which I am now wearing it proudly instead of my second team one - Scotland - which too many folk associate with politics and I am tired of explaining that there are only 2 fitba teams I support and as I could not get one for my first team I had to revert to one for my second team. Quick delivery from the club if you are nae local and other outlets in the town which are all on the AFC Website, Facebook and Twitter.
  10. Alas in this time of crisis when we are all trying to keep our clubs going through these strange times Scottish football manages to lose focus on priorities. Saturday and Sunday radio Scotland fitba has kept me going through the lockdown but after all this weekend’s crap and self interest if will be just off the ball now at the weekend. Thanks to all of the AFC board for doing all they can to ensure that the Lichties survive this crisis whilst being surrounded by self centred a’holes in the SPL.
  11. Aye - it is the SPFL and Cup who do not have sponsors and they should be concentrating on finding some rather than all this infighting to stop Celtic winning 9 in a row. No problems at all with the Lichties board as they lead by example and as they have got their act together, the rest of the teams in the SPFL should follow what we have done.
  12. I have to agree with the Elgin Chairman. We have no sponsors, no idea when football will restart in Scotland and no idea how many teams will still be around when it does. Yet here we are discussing how many teams will be in the leagues. This is a crises situation but thankfully we have a forward looking board who are doing everything they can to ensure that we can come out the other end with a fitba club.
  13. Why not just get behind whoever the manager plays. No-one else is slotting the ball away now and again. We all want Doris to score but alas he does not when he plays. Spence started the session well but is not scoring. Donnelly and Linn are winning us points with few others getting goals so the manager is not keeping a match winner out it the team but just having a problem finding one. Why not give it a break and get behind the team in a very difficult league.
  14. We were by far the better team against ICT in the first half but ran out of steam in the second. A week off and a similar performance against another part time team will hopefully result in three points for us.
  15. I have this dislike of loan players since the Weir team of loaners got us relegated then they went back to their own clubs leaving incoming PS with nothing. Ok it worked out in our favour when PS came in but perhaps we might have won the Second Division instead of the Third if we had not been relegated. Loan players cost money which cannot be recovered by selling on (if young and a prospect like SM) and obviously have their parent club as priority. Would feel better if we did not have to pay the parent club anything for giving their players game time. We are doing them a favour and if good enough they get a game and if not they do not play with no conditions. Perhaps I just remember when we used to sign and sell players who gave their all for the club when at Gayfield.
  16. Not sure what fans want. A home tie against a team a league above us is a winnable match if we are up for it. Lets look forward to the next round and assume we will beat the Fifers.
  17. Have only seen front two twice, RR an ICT u20s, neither have really impressed as being a team. Hopefully things will improve and they will learn to pass and take the opportunities when they arise. We need to get a team playing together and making chances for each other rather than players hoofing the ball miles over the bar or kicking it directly to the keeper in a belief that one can score at every attempt when that is clearly not the case.
