  1. Totally agree. I wanted DM gone, but didn’t want Stephen Glass in. But, he now deserves a chance. No-one should be clamouring for his head or moan too much if Hacken beat us. We’re way under prepared & are underdogs IMO. Give him proper time (& hopefully come the 31/8 when the window shuts, the gaps in the team & squad are plugged. Only then can we start judging him. I’m not saying he has a free pass for the season, but we need to be prepared to take a few knocks potentially.
  2. I agree 100%. What I think goes against Stephen Glass is the disingenuous comments Cormack made about a “prawcess”. I really don’t think there was one. As soon as the Atlanta links were forged, I, & many others saw the appointment coming. To be fair to Glass, he’s not been fully backed yet, as we’re a few players short, you’d have thought Cormack would properly back his man. My gut feel is that he won’t cut it. I really hope I’m wrong & he is seen as an inspired appointment, but I suspect we may be looking for a new manager in 12-18 months.
  3. Agree with a lot of that. I was keen for a change, and (sadly) saw the Glass appointment about a year before it happened. I say sadly as I don’t think he’ll up to the job, & the whole “prawcess” was a bit of a sham. Now that he’s here, he deserves a chance though. However, whilst it may be public posturing, his assertion that we have a good squad is a bit of a stretch. We have two fit & available central defenders for our European tie, one who should now be a good back up, & one who may not even be a central defender. We have two strikers. And out wide, we’re probably lacking a good option, as we’re a bit desperate if we’re relying on McLennan or Kennedy. My hope is that Ferguson gets sold ASAP & we re-invest & bring in the 3 quality players we probably need. Overall I’m looking forward to a new season, but I’m not overly optimistic we’ll be any higher than last season. Starting off with a defeat to Hacken will bring out the “I told you so mob” & put a bit of pressure on him from the outset. Cormack hasn’t really backed his man IMO.
  4. Fucking idiots up there, voting that selfish, loathsome c**t in. And he’s a ***.
  5. Mainly based on the clubs respective preparedness for the tie. Not just that though, they have a fair amount of internationals in their team & they’re from a respectable league, not Lithuania, Andorra or some such shite like the mob Hibs have got. I’d say it’s 40/60 against us.
  6. Hacken favourites IMO. Had we been playing them in a month, then we’d be slight favourites, but just now, they’re favourites I’d say.
  7. Not mutually exclusive unfortunately. The UK government is led by a known & consistent racist
  8. When I heard Dross was appearing I never switched on. The latest in a huge long line of Tory c***s that Scotland didn’t elect. He’s also a fat, *** which adds to it.
  9. I didn’t hear it myself, but apparently Cormack said on Sportsound today that our transfer business was pretty much done. Going to be a long season if we go with that squad. Lacking in several places.
  10. Interesting take on it seeing as Rooney, Kerr & McCart played
  11. You wouldn’t have thought Gallagher would be that unfit? I know he didn’t play for Scotland, but he’d have been in training up to the day before the Croatia game, which was only 3 weeks ago, so base fitness there. But you have to assume most of today’s X1 will start? Ojo is bizarre. I think Glass likes Ferguson further forward so wants someone alongside Brown, but I’d have thought McGeouch would be a better shout. The squad badly lacks pace. Think we’re about 3 players short, minimum.
  12. Aye, surprised they didn’t leave it at the 6.30, not that it’s much cooler.
  13. You say interesting… I’d say odd. He’s not good enough and as mobile as an oil tanker. Thats a pretty ponderous team, with only one or two with any pace. Looks like Gurr will be at right back. Surprised Gallagher didn’t start.
  14. Jesus, that would be an underwhelming signing. Signing an overweight, injury prone St Mirren sub. No thanks I’d take Jamie McGrath in a heartbeat, but I doubt we can afford him unless Fergie gets sold.
  15. He offers nothing. No pace, seldom scores, seldom gets by a full back. Just don’t see what he brings us at all.
  16. Agree. Think Glass gives off the impression of being over-confident about this. Rude awakening might be coming up come 29 July.
  17. Ferguson staying/leaving will have a big impact on our squad. It might be better overall if he leaves. Assuming we receive a sensible offer. No point in having an unsettled player. We can bank 50%-60% of the fee & bring in a two or three better players for smallish fees potentially.
  18. The closer we get to the Hacken game, the less optimistic I am. Effectively two pre-season kickabouts at Cormack Park for the squad, against a Swedish team who are in mid-season, & have the “new manager bounce”. And even if we strengthen the squad before the game, if those players are English based, they’ll be even further off the pace than our lads. Glass obviously thinks we have enough to see us through. Lewis Gurr/McCr Gallagher Considine MacKenzie Brown Hedges Ferguson Jenks/McGinn Hayes Ramirez Subs: Woods, Gurr/McCrorie, Ojo, Campbell, McGeouch, McLennan, Kennedy, JET & McGinn/Jenks Fancy 1-1 at Pittodrie next week.
  19. The likes of Ojo & Kennedy, who we wouldn’t miss, are contracted so we’d need to be creative
  20. What I’m clinging to is that we’re waiting for Ferguson to be sold so that the two/three players we bring in are of a higher quality, If we were to bring in two/three now without the Fergie fee, it would be lower quality? If we start the season with the squad as is, we’ll struggle in a few areas. What I’m a little confused about is that we allegedly bid for Jamie McGrath (so a transfer fee is available to pay?) & we tried to sign Clark Robertson, so wages available for a defender. Surely we have alternatives to those two?
  21. I am sure I read that St Mirren are asking 500 to turn up 90 minutes beforehand? Scotland was 3 hours before Euro 2020 games
