  1. Agreed he's far better as a number 10 or even on the left coming inside. Shankland and Moore as a partnership doesn't work, it needs to be Shankland or Moore with Moffat or Forrest in behind. That still leaves Crawford, Geggan, McDaid and McGuffie to play wide now we have Smith.
  2. I'm currently having my most successful Ayr save ever. 11 seasons in I've won everything domestically multiple times and the Europa League. I'm not giving up till I've won the Champions League as its something I've never managed with them. For the first time ever with Ayr I got a board takeover and have had money to spend and a new stadium which is keeping the enjoyment going.
  3. Chris Higgins falls into that bracket also, but hoping him and Doc get back to their best once they are fully fit again.
  4. Yeah it really makes a change and we are becoming spoiled for choice at the moment.
  5. Yeah I would think so. Geggan will be cover for right back and Ferguson will be cover for the left until January, then I would expect he will be released.
  6. Great signing for us. I was going to mention him pre-season but thought it was an unrealistic target.
  7. For the first time in years we have a wealth of options for this position. Some may not be quite good enough yet or possibly ever but we do at least have choices. Mulgrew, Berra, and Martin are coming to the end of their careers. Tierney, McKenna, Hendry, Hanley, Lindsay, Souttar and McCrorie are all still young which bodes well for the future.
  8. Speaking of new songs, how about reworking the super Nicky Devlin song? "We've got Super Lawrence Shankland. We've got Michael Moffat too. When Declan' s on the wing, you'll hear the Ayr boys sing. United are coming after you!" Beats having Boyle and Trouten mentioned in it and it was a fan favourite till Nicky left so I'd like to hear it make a return.
  9. There wasn't a poor performance today, but Crawford and Moff were outstanding and it was between them for man of the match. There will no doubt be much harder games to come, but if we can keep up this level of performance we will easily stay up and could potentially be challenging higher up the table.

  11. Me neither I'd prefer to win it in normal time, but it will undoubtedly be our toughest game so far.
  12. I think this will be the team for Saturday. I'm predicting a draw and win on penalties to go through as group winners.
  13. Gerry and Mikey were possibly the worst two players I've seen since McCall has been in charge. Devlin is the only player that would get in our team now from our last time in the championship.
  14. Happy with the signing and the draw. Macaroni cheese with garlic bread.
  15. 46, 47 or 48 for me. Would take anyone outside our league though. Hopefully we avoid playing Partick and Morton a 6th time.
  16. Him and Adams in the same team would give our opposition the fear!
  17. Hoping it's McCrorie, Harvie, Mvoto and Murdoch. All our business done in one day and we can relax. Expecting it will be Ferguson resigning.

  19. I like the idea of changing it up and I think playing 4-3-1-2 would be the best way to get Moff, Shankland and Moore into the team. You could then have 3 from Doc, Kerr, Adams, Bell and Crawford behind them. As you said though McDaid, Forrest and also McGuffie wouldn't really work in that system, except maybe as the one behind the strikers and we would rely on the fullbacks for width, but it could easily work with the players we have.
  20. This is how we could potentially line up for our first game, if McCrorie and Harvie do sign. Probably with Higgins and Doc replacing Bell and Adams once they are fit.
  21. I'd also like to see most of the current squad resign with the addition of a minimum of 5 new signings, preferably 7 or so budget dependant. I think most of our midfield and forwards should be good enough, but we need a new keeper and defence as main priority. Release: Hart, Ferguson, Reid, Boyle. Resign: Everyone else out of contract. Sign: 2 keepers, 2 centre backs, left back, right back and a winger.
