If the road is flat I don't have my foot on the break. As I said, if it's a hill I've no issue with the hand-break being applied, but on a flat road when the lights only let few cars through, it is extremely annoying when the fuckwit at the front takes an age to take off the hand-break at the green (why they don't do it at the amber is beyond me) because they aren't paying attention or have pulled it up too high. I've seen both instances several times in this town.
Without the use of a spirt level, you cannot be sure the road is flat. When I'm first at the lights, I apply the brake and look at the other lights. I stay alert and when it's obviously the turn of the lights I'm at, I quickly release the handbrake before my light has turned green and pull away. I'm able to do this because I have the cognitive function of a sane human being0 -

Same. Is your wife going?
That makes three of us. I've enjoyed previous visits to the ground but dislike the one way 'friendship' they have with Liverpool.0 -
They're right, you're wrong.
Exactly. Not only is it government advice, it's surely common sense. There's likely to be at least a very small gradient so vital for safety. Also avoids dazzling those behind you after dark0 -
These people are adhering to the correct procedure, as stated in the Highway Code

There are few pubs around the ground. Best option is to have a drink in the city centre then get the train out. It's only a 15-20 min journey

I've wandered along to a pub relatively close to Scotstoun stadium for a pint. I didn't realise Glasgow Warriors were at home and I can't help but listen to the absolutely dreadful conversations of these rugby fans. I'd rather have been bludgeoned by a Rangers fan on Dumbarton Road

We have a white board stuck to our fridge by a magnet. We use it to write down household chores that need done or things we've got arranged in the upcoming days.
As part of a humourous jape I wrote '*girlfriend's name* takes it up the arse'. I forgot to rub it out and it was spotted by her mother several hours later

I work in a supermarket. And if you then ask how I can afford such things ,that I can't disclose . However with earning very little I do pretty well with my money ( Lonsdale shoes included )
And yes I got the house :-). Took a bit longer than expected but got there in the end
Well done. Good effort!0 -
Apologies

If your town is regarded as a tip by various others and have to justify why it isn't a tip, it almost certainly is.
I was brought up in Stenhousemuir which is beige personified but now find myself in Glasgow's salubrious West end0 -
Today could be the day I own a second house. Fingers crossed
If you don't mind me asking, what do you do for a living? Paying for one flat is enough grief for me!0 -
The new Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation was released a couple of days ago. It isn't perfect but certainly acts as a decent 'shit hole' identifier

Has anyone tried the Jura Elixir? I've never had it (nor even heard of it) before but I saw a bottle in Sainsbury's on offer but my usual go to whisky expert hasn't tried it before.
It's OK, a 6/10 from me. It's limited edition bottling.
Prophecy is excellent. A real hard hitting peatiness without them medicinal taste like Laphroaig0 -
Enjoying a Jura Boutique Barrels 1996. The absolute pinnacle for me

I tend to find myself gravitating to whisky with an age mark. I do enjoy those without and the Caribbean is a nice drop.

I haven't played golf in a good ten years but would love to start playing again. I have Wilson Fat Shaft irons bought circa 2001. Would they still do the job or has technology left them behind?
I'd be happy to buy a new set of irons if it has

Oh yes, AFTNC! Do you like to take a tramp in the hills?
Yes, I've done well over half of the Munros and numerous Corbetts but now prefer long distance walking to hillwalking0 -
What are all the poor PnB hill walkers up to. Mrs Bold and I have spent the day on Lauterbrunnen in the Swiss Alps. There possibly couldn't be a better hillwalking experience.
Did you get much hillwalking done?0 -
Excellent, thanks!

I climbed the Striding Edge Ridge during the summer and the comparison to Aanoch Eagach is ludicrous.
Striding Edge is a pleasant summer stroll while the pinnacles on Aanoch Eagach have massive exposure and significant rock climbing aspects. I can only assume DAFC has been nowhere near Aanoch Eagach!0 -
I'd happily play in future games. Just moved to Glasgow and looking for a regular game. Hope the standard isn't too high!

Depends on area (or data usage, more specifically - the busier an area, the more pokemon spawn). You'll encounter stronger pokemon as you level up, but everyone sees the same.
Say two players were of vastly different levels. If they were side by side would they encounter the same pokemon0 -
I've just downloaded this and have been confronted with a lot of very basic Pokemon. Pidgey and the like. Do the Pokemon nearby change with your level or are they determined by geographic area?

Perhaps I'm just a little naive but I'm surprised how many people I've seen smoking weed in busy public places.
